Weekend in Vegas

Happy Weekend Everyone! I wanted to say a quick hello and share a few photos from our weekend getaway to Las Vegas. Emil and I love going there because for us, it is always about pure relaxation, and indulging in all our favorite things like shopping, wining and dining, and laying out by the pool. Well ok, so perhaps I enjoy the shopping bid a bit more, but my hubby is certainly on board with the dining out part!

Though we did entertain the idea of trying a different hotel this time around, in the end, we ended up staying at our favorite place – Wynn Las Vegas, the rooms are gorgeous and we just can’t get over that pool area! Since it’s been while since our last visit, we honestly forgot just how relaxing a trip to Vegas can be! No, seriously! We ended up spending most of our time lounging around by the pool, exploring the strip while doing a bit of shopping, eating insane amounts of gelato ( honestly it’s just that good ), and even got to catch a few shows! Basically, we had such a great time, we’re planning another visit very, very soon!

New Hair Care Routine

One day, about a month ago I woke up and realized that I had the same hair style for the past 3 years… Yes, the same piecey bob with textured ends and more importantly, same hair color, which 3 years later, felt a bit tired and lackluster! Though I’ve often considered doing something different with my hair, on that particular day, I actually took steps, went to the salon, and a few hours later, walked out of my salon with a new style that felt brand new! That said, I really wanted to also switch up my haircare routine and just try something new.

vivaLuxury X Kerastase may 2017-9

vivaLuxury X Kerastase may 2017-8 vivaLuxury X Kerastase may 2017-10

Thankfully, my Kérastase fam introduced me to a new line of hair care products, that I’ve been using pretty much religiously, and I must say, the results have been nothing short of amazing!

What convinced me to try Aura Botanica was the fact that the line contains no silicones, no parabens and no sulfates and is made with 99% Natural Origin ingredients and if you read my blog on the regular, you probably already know that I am always looking for effective natural beauty products. I also liked the fact that it contains natural oils like coconut oil and argan oil which help nourish and maintain the health of the hair.

vivaLuxury X Kerastase may 2017-1

At the moment, my hair care routine consists of 4 easy steps. I start by washing my hair with Aura Botanica Bain Micellaire, a gentle shampoo designed specifically for dull or devitalized hair. Quick tip – when you wash color-treated hair, pay special attention to the temperature of the water. You definitely don’t want to wash your hair with very hot water since it tends to damage hair and dull the color.

vivaLuxury X Kerastase may 2017-2

Next, I apply Aura Botanica Soin Fondamental, a deep moisturizing conditioner for dull or devitalized hair. Normally, I tend to apply the conditioner to the ends of my hair since my scalp can be a bit on the oily side. I also leave the conditioner on for a bit longer, I’d say 5-10 minutes at least to get the full benefits of the product!

vivaLuxury X Kerastase may 2017-5

If I have the time, I let my hair air dry. It does take longer (normally I use this time to do my make up and get dressed) but it really makes a difference, and my hair looks and feels much healthier if I don’t use the blowdryer. I am also a big believer in brushing hair regularly. As I have mentioned in a previous post, I started brushing my hair for about 5-10 minutes on daily basis and the results have been amazing.

vivaLuxury X Kerastase may 2017-3

So, once my hair is completely dry, I spray a bit of Aura Botanica Essence D’eclat, which is a moisturizing oil mist designed to nourish hair and control the frizz, to the ends of my hair, and brush it with a peddle brush for about 10 minutes.

vivaLuxury X Kerastase may 2017-4

Last but certainly not least is the Aura Botanica Concentrate Essentiel, which I apply lightly to the length of my hair once it is styled to prevent dryness, frizz and to smooth the flyaways. This is probably one of my favorite products, since hair oils can feel a bit heavy and dull or way down the hair, but this one feels like nothing at all, yet makes my hair look very smooth and shiny! Love that!

Power Pinstripes

And so, my obsession with blazers continues… Meet my latest find and current wear-with-everything piece –  Smythe pinstripe perfection of a blazer, which I picked up from Shopbop last week. Love everything about it, from color and menswear inspired fit, to lightly padded shoulders and leather elbow patches.

A true chameleon, I think what I like abut this blazer the most, aside from the fact that it wears well with everything ( denim cut-offs included ), is the fact that it goes from a chic casual piece to a perfect day-time dressy topper depending on what you wear it with. Whenever I choose to pair to with jeans, or denim shorts I’ve mentioned above, it looks perfectly easygoing and informal, yet every time I wear it with dressier slacks it has a very sophisticated, pulled-together vibe. Naturally, I’m obsessed to the point of  no return because I’ve been wearing it non-stop for the past week with pretty much everything in my closet, and I am yet to find something it doesn’t work with! Love that!

One of my favorite casual pairings at the moment, distressed denim and this checked easy, breezy jacket from Sacai. So good with pretty much any casual bottom option imaginable, the checked pattern, I think, adds a bit of a dramatic touch to this otherwise very casual piece, and since I never shy away from drama when it comes to clothing, I’m obsessed!

Today, I’m wearing it with some of my other obsessions du jour, like these perfectly slouchy jeans from Citizens of Humanity ( took me some time to break them in, but now they are perfect ) and Chanel slingbacks, otherwise known as a pair of shoes you can wear with everything, no exceptions. They were one of my Paris splurges and I must say, as far as this year’s shoe purchases go, they were definitely worth every penny! Stylish and comfortable, I really love the soft pink shade which really acts as a neutral when paired with brighter, more colorful pieces. Also, they work equally well with dressier, tailored pieces and sportier ones, i.e. I’ve worn them with cocktail dresses and the most distressed denim shorts I have in my closet, and so far, they haven’t failed me once. Like I said, best, best!

Mint Moment

I suppose it’s not really a big secret that I have a bit of a weakness for pastels and though I love color in general, I certainly have my favorites and mint just happens to be one of them. Don’t know about you guys, but I think, mint is pretty much Summer personified. Soft and pretty, for me, wearing mint, somehow signals the arrival of Summer and all the wonderful things that come with it, i.e. sunshine, sandals, sun tans, swimming and seaside.

Today’s mint moment comes curtesy of this pretty ruffled number from Sandro I picked up the other day. So soft and feminine, I love pairing this top with denim to keep it from venturing into a very girly territory. Also, rather than wearing it with bright colors, or other pastels, I prefer to keep my accessories neutral, this way mint serves as a focal color point of the look. Today, I opted  for a pair of nude heeled sandals and my obsession du jour – Fendi Kan bag. I’ve been looking for a good white bag to buy this Summer for some time now and I knew I found the one the moment I saw it! Love everything about it, the mint scalloped edge, the shape and size, and of course the metal chain which adds a bit of sparkle to outfits, especially when worn cross-body.

Weekend in the Hamptons

Hi Everyone! I hope you guys are having a great week. I wanted to say a quick hello and share a few photos from this weekend. I finally got to visit the Hamptons, which was long overdue, and I must admit, I am already planning our next visit!

I’ve been meaning to visit for a while now, but I just couldn’t make it work since I’m usually in NYC during Fashion Week when it’s absolutely hectic and there’s no time for anything. Well, last weekend I finally made it! And… I absolutely loved it. Although the weather was not ideal and it was a bit rainy, I still enjoyed my time there.

We stayed at the cutest hotel called The Topping Rose House, which is located in Bridgehampton, but we certainly ventured out beyond that. I think one of my favorite places was the Montauk Lighthouse. Located right by a gorgeous and super picturesque beach, we got there right around sunset and everything looked absolutely magical and a bit surreal, so if you ever decide to visit the Hamptons, I highly recommend checking it out.

We also made a stop at a nearby Wolffer Estate Vineyard for some wine tasting. They are famous for their rosé, which we got to try and I must say, it did not disappoint. So, definitely another favorite for us!

Going to the Hamptons for the first time, I wasn’t sure exactly what to pack. I was browsing through Net-a-Porter one of the evenings before the trip and came across the Sea anorak I’m wearing in today’s post. I’ve been drawn to the anoraks in general lately, but it was the eyelet detailing on the back that really made this particular one so special to me. For this look, I paired it with yet another staple and a current favorite –  my Laurence Dacade white boots. White accessories are having a bit of a moment right now, and I can certainly understand why. Aside from the fact that that tend to elevate even the most casual of looks, they pair well with just about everything, and I don’t have to tell you how much I love that!

P.S. Since I m now planning my next visit to the Hamptons, can you guys recommend any must see places, cafes restaurants or shopping destinations?

Magic Multitasker – La Mer Renewal Oil

Good morning and happy almost weekend everyone! I wanted to say a quick hello and share the newest addition to my current beauty ritual – the La Mer Renewal Oil. I’ve been using it for a little over 3 weeks now, and I have to say that as far as favorite beauty products of all time go, this one, definitely takes the top spot on the list.

If you read my blog on the regular, you probably already know that versatility is something I talk about the most. Well, one of the biggest reasons, aside from the results of course, is the fact that LA MER Renewal Oil can be used in a multiple of ways and it works equally well for face, body and hair.

Though I have combination skin, I often struggle with dry spots on my face, especially Summer time since I tend to spend a lot of time outdoors and in the sun. Chapped lips, dry cheeks, and dry under eye area happen to be my biggest concerns. But the good news is that the Renewal Oil takes care of all of that. Every evening, I apply about 2-3 drops (if you’re going to use the Renewal oil don’t forget to gently shake the bottle to activate the formula) to all my problem areas and every morning I wake up with my skin looking and feeling renewed, refreshed and moisturized! Love seeing that transformation!

Another way I am currently using the Renewal Oil is on my hands. I have fairly long nails, despite the fact that I’ve been getting weekly gel manicures for the past 2 years, and my secret to keeping my nails from breaking is moisturizing. Every night, before bed I apply a few drops of the Renewal Oil directly on my cuticles and gently massage it in for about a minute or two. If my hands happen to be particularly dry, I follow with La Mer Hand Treatment, a silky cream designed to soothe and protect the skin. My mom taught me the importance of following a moisturizing hand ritual before bed time and I can tell you first hand, it does make a world of difference! I have not always been as good about it as I am now, and it always took a toll on the way my nails and hands look. So, as with everything else, moisture is key!

I also apply a thin layer of the Renewal Oil to my elbows and knees before bed time ( in general they tend to get drier than the rest of my body ) followed by La Mer Body Crème and I always wake up to the softest skin imaginable. Love that!

Last but certainly not least is my hair. I recently got my balayage done and my bleached ends tend to get dry, especially since we get so much sun in LA. To protect my hair from drying out, I apply a few drops of the Renewal Oil just on the very ends once my hair is styled. Love the fact that it absorbs quickly and doesn’t weigh my hair down, while it makes my hair look and feel very soft and healthy!

Now, I know that I’ve talked about more than a few beauty favorites on this blog over the years, but I have to say that this is the one I simply cannot live without at the moment. My holy grail, my don’t leave the house without it fave (seriously, I always have it in my purse, because it great for on the go application in case my lips or hands start feeling a bit dry), I seriously recommend trying it if you struggle with dry skin like I do, travel a lot, or simply looking for a great moisturizing product. I promise, you’ll love it as much as I do!

Net-a-Porter x Chloé Event in New York

If you follow me on instagram, you may already know that we spent the last week in New York and though there were many wonderful moments throughout this trip, the absolute highlight was attending Net-a-Porter x Chloé collection launch. I’ve always been a huge fan of both, New-a-Porter and Chloé, so seeing two of my favorites come together to collaborate on a capsule collection was an absolute pleasure. Inspired by Ibiza in the 70s, I think what I love about this collection the most, is just how bright, cheerful, yet nonchalant and easy it is! Basically, this collection is my dream Summer vacation wardrobe personified.

This was the look I wore to the event, which consisted mainly of all my Chloé favorites at the moment. The dress was love at first sight! Aside from color, I love how it moves with every step that you take, but also, how easy and breezy it is. The temperatures in New York went all the way up to 93 degrees, so this flowy number was absolutely perfect! Yet another current obsession are these metallic aviator sunglasses. I have to admit that before I came across this pair, I was having a tough time finding something that would work on me. But I love the way these look, not to mention the fact that I am always a fan of oversized sunnies! Last but certainly not least, is Choé Nile bracelet bag, which has been on constant rotation as of late. Perfect for day and night ( love the fact that I can also wear it cross-body ), when it comes to completing a look, nothing does it for me quite like this bag. Great with jeans and simple flowy tops, it pairs just as beautifully with cocktail dresses and tailored pieces, and of course I don’t have to tell you how much I appreciate that!

Pastel in Palm Springs

There are very few places that make Emil and I feel the way Palm Springs does. I don’t know what it is really, the weather, the beautiful scenery, relaxing atmosphere, endless dips in the pool, or possibly all of the above. Palm Springs has always been the place where we feel completely relaxed and at peace…

Though in the past, we’ve spent most of our time by the pool, working on our tans and indulging in an occasional swim, lately we’ve been doing things a bit differently, and actually venturing out to explore Palm Springs, looking for new spots to love. Our latest discovery – La Serena Villas Boutique Hotel. Pretty as a postcard, we fell in love with this Spanish-style gem the moment we saw it! Our absolute favorite spot, other than the pool of course, is the sun terrace, which is a perfect spot to kick back, relax, and indulge in a glass of wine or a sunset picnic, all while admiring beautiful views of the mountains!

But speaking of obsessions, my preoccupation with easy, breezy tops is nothing new, but thanks to this season’s emphasis on exposed shoulder, this preoccupation reached a whole new level. Seriously, the way I feel now, I could easily wear off-the-shoulder tops for the rest of the summer and be quite happy about that! No joke!

The top I’m wearing in today’s post is my latest Bloomingdale’s find! Love everything about it, the color, the fit and the fabric! For today’s look, I opted to pair it with
a matching skirt, but I’ve worn it with jeans and denim cut-offs in the past and it worked just as well! Naturally, I love that!

Whenever we go to Palm Springs, I usually wear comfortable shoe options. For example, it was 104 degrees last time we were there, so heels were definitely out of the question. Yet, as you probably already know, I love a bit of drama when it comes to shoes ( even if it’s flats or everyday basics ), and these metallic Loeffler Randall sandals, which incidentally were another Bloomingdales’s find, are my favorite pair at the moment. I mean tassels, pom poms, stars and wrap around ankle straps – what else can a girl ask for in a shoe?!

What about you guys, what are some of your current fashion obsessions?

Thank you to Bloomingdale’s and ShopStyle for sponsoring this post.

Topping Rose House :: The Hamptons

Hello Everyone! Hope you are having an amazing long weekend. I wanted to say a quick hi and share some more photos with you from my recent trip to the Hamptons.

Although it hasn’t been that long since we came back from the Hamptons, I already miss it terribly! It is such a relaxing and peaceful place that is just perfect to get away to. Despite the weather being a little chilly, we still ventured out to explore. We of course went to check out a beach that was near our hotel. It was a gloomy and moody morning but oh so beautiful! Had I not been so eager to explore the Hamptons more, I would have stayed at that beach for hours!

We’ve also took a bit of time to walk around and explore the Bridgehampton—a tiny little town where our hotel was located. It had a cute little street with coffee and flower shops, antique stores, and restaurants we wanted to check out. I love seeing local spots when traveling, it gives me a completely different perspective on the place. We stumbled upon an adorable local coffee shop and could not help but to stop for some coffee and croissants (for a second there I thought I was in Paris again!). To wrap up our afternoon of adventure, we took advantage of the bikes our hotel had for its guests. We biked around the property and a little beyond. The nature in the Hamptons is amazing—so green and lush, it might have been my favorite and most picturesque bike ride ever.

As I am writing this post, we are actually in the middle of planning yet another trip to the Hamptons, and I would really appreciate your recommendations for local spots I should visit! Any restaurants, cafes, or just pretty places you love?

Vacation White :: 3 White Staples You Need this Summer

$
0
0

I don’t know about you guys, but I always wear a lot of white summer time, and all-white outfits (or almost all-white ) happen to be my particular favorite. Naturally, come summer time, white staples are always at the top of my shopping list, and as I was getting ready for a recent trip to Palm Springs, updating my can’t-imagine-summer-without live-ins was the first order of business! This, by the way got me thinking, well…, what are my summer/vacay staples? And the truth is, at this particular point in time, there are exactly 3 of them!

First and foremost – a white dress! Something easy and comfortable to wear for day with a pair of flats, yet special enough that I can dress up with a pair of heels and a clutch to wear for night. Enter my current obsession du jour, or as I like to call it, the dress I will be living in this summer ( seriously, because I bought it in every color imaginable – more options herehere, and here ) Aside from the fact that I am never not obsessing over eyelet, this dress has everything I could hope for and more: pockets, tie shoulder detailing and the feminine silhouette. Since comfort is key in Palm Springs, for today’s look I paired it with ankle-tie gladiators, but it looks just as cute for night with strappy heels and a smaller, structured bag or clutch.

Secondly – white denim mini. Normally, I like to have at least one white denim mini in my closet. Super versatile, it’s the skirt I usually pair with all my brightly colored or printed tops. Love the one from Express I am wearing in today’s post because of the higher waist line and a bit of distressing. For today’s look I paired it with my third staples – a detailed blouse, but I also love wearing it with cute t-shirts, or sweatshirts and sneakers on my casual days.

Speaking of detailed blouses ( a few favorites herehere & here ), ruffles are definitely having a moment this year and the way I like to wear them is by paring them with edgier or distressed pieces to avoid looking overly girly. The one I am wearing in today’s post is also from Express and happens to be my obsession du-jour! Super light and breezy, love the way it works with anything denim, like obviously high-waisted minis, but also cropped or boyfriend jeans. Added bonus, is that it looks super cute paired with dressier bottom options for night! Love that!

What about you guys, what are your summer staples?

Express eyelet dress ( also love options herehere, and here ), white denim mini skirt, straw hat, sunglasses, and white ruffle blouse ( similar favorites herehere & here )

Little White Eyelet

Hi Everyone! I hope everyone’s week is off to a great start. Emil and I decided to spend the Memorial Day Weekend here in Los Angeles and take a mini break from our crazy schedules lately. I’m not going to lie, it was really nice to be a bit lazy and not plan every minute of the day like we normally do.

We lounged around the house, ordered take out, and caught up on our favorite shows. However, since both of us cannot relax and do nothing for too long, we ventured out for a brunch on Sunday. And it just so happened to be the perfect opportunity to wear my new summer dress. White dresses are just classic for summer, and I couldn’t resist getting this one. I absolutely love the eyelet details, I’ve been obsessing over them for summer actually, and the slightly puffy sleeves make the dress stand out so much more.

I paired the dress with the Prada tote, and I think they make the perfect companions—the tote just screams summer! Love it because it pairs so well with everything from summer dresses to denim cutoffs, it’s quickly becoming my go-to bag ( plus it’s a nice break from the leather handbags we are all so used to). I finished off the look with neutral accessories—beige sandals and sunnies.

How about you guys, what’s your favorite way to spend long weekends?

A Day in San Diego :: The US Grant

Hi Everyone, Emil and I spent a few days in San Diego last week, so I wanted to share some photos with you from the trip. We love going down there, it’s so different from LA yet it’s so close. Although we love the beach, we usually stay in the downtown area because everything is pretty much walking distance ( like all our favorite restaurants, shops and coffee shops ).

I’ve always wanted to stay at The US Grant just because it looked so beautiful and historic from the outside. So, last week we finally got a chance to stay there! The hotel just went through massive renovations so everything feels new and fresh yet still a bit old (in a good way). We had a lovely room that had tons of natural light coming in and a beautiful view of San Diego. We started off the first day there our favorite way—breakfast in bed. Something about starting your morning with delicious pancakes and orange juice just sets the mood for the rest of the day. We spent the day exploring the downtown area, visiting a few of our old favorites and as sisal, finding new places to love.

For my outfit, I decided to go a bit out of my comfort zone with the Isabel Marant overalls. I don’t normally wear overalls, but I do love this particular pair. They are sporty and comfortable yet still super chic, especially if you add an accessory to them like I did with my Chanel brooch. You may have noticed a pattern as of late—I love adding classic brooches to more casual pieces to elevate the look a bit. I threw on a plain white t-shirt underneath and a leather jacket on top as it was a bit chilly. Finished off the look with the Louis Vuitton bag and pumps; I got both during the last Paris Fashion Week but haven’t had the chance to wear the pumps as much, so thought it was the perfect timing.

Per usual, our time in San Diego was absolutely lovely, and we are already planning a trip back. By the way, if you have any suggestions in terms of which places we should visit, I would really appreciate them!

Hi Everyone! Wanted to share a super casual look I wore in San Diego a couple of weeks ago. It was our day to walk around and explore downtown and Little Italy (we love both so much!) so it definitely called for a pair of super comfy sneakers. After looking at a sneaker collection I have accumulated I realized that I pretty much gravitate towards lighter shades and usually go for white. I don’t know what it is really, but nothing ads just a touch of polish o an outfit quite like a pair of white sneakers does…

It also happened to be the perfect timing to wear the Harvey Faircloth jacket I’ve fallen in love with the moment I saw it. The reason I am so obsessed with it at the moment is because it’s so unique and has plenty of those special little details I always look for in clothing ( Hello peplum bottom, red piping and flap pockets! ) yet it’s really simple to style and pairs great with just about any denim style or color imaginable! Love that!

Afternoon Tea at Hotel Bel-Air

Hi Everyone, happy weekend! It’s been our family tradition for some time now to get together for Afternoon Tea. We try to do it at least every couple of months; we are all such foodies, so naturally, we love to have family time over delicious food and desserts. Though every once in a while we like to try new places, we certainly have our favorites and Afternoon Tea at Hotel Bel-Air, is definitely one of those.

First time we went, was probably about 6 years ago. We’ve been to Hotel Bel-Air before and stayed there a few times, but we’ve never had the chance to experience their Afternoon Tea and so one day, after hearing so many wonderful things from family and friends, we went there for my birthday and from that point on it became our favorite spot ever! We absolutely love the garden-like setting outside, it’s just so perfect on a warm LA day, and of course the food… The yummiest sandwiches and pastries I have ever had at an Afternoon Tea for sure (the fam agrees with me on that one too!).

Since Emil, Ninel and I have been traveling quite a bit lately, we haven’t really been spending as much time with the family as we normally do. So, last Sunday, we decided to rekindle our Afternoon Tea tradition, and spent the day at Hotel Bel-Air, wining, dining and exploring. Basically perfect day in every way!

What about you guys, what is your favorite way to spend time with the family?

Bermuda Brights

Hello Everyone! Hope you had a great weekend and got a chance to rest and reset for the upcoming week. I have certainly gotten a chance to do so since I’ve been in Bermuda, and it is the true meaning of paradise. From the pastel colored houses, the nicest people, and the prettiest blue water I have ever seen, I could not be happier to be here.

Since this way our first time in Bermuda, we spent the first day exploring the islands. Bermuda is so small, you can see all of it in one day if you wanted to! The taxi drivers here are also like tour guides—they know all the spots and all the history so it’s not your ordinary cab ride.

We’ve done a bit of research before coming to Bermuda, so we had quite a few places we wanted to see. One of them was the St. George’s Island—cutest little place full of pastel colored buildings (much like the rest of Bermuda), it definitely did not disappoint! Even prettier than I imagined, it was the most perfect place to wonder around, indulge in a bit of retail therapy at the local  shops, get a bite to eat, and get some ice cream ( well…, is there a bad time or a place to get ice-cream? )). Our next stop was the Warwick Long Bay Beach. A dream come true, the beach was so beautiful, it was hard to comprehend that a place this stunning could be real! Seriously, I had to pinch myself a few times just to make sure! So, if you ever decide to visit Bermuda, which I highly recommend, this place is a must! You will not be disappointed, I promise!

I’ll be sharing the rest of our Bermuda adventures in an upcoming post! So stay tuned!

The Importance of Scalp Care

Good morning everyone. If you read my blog on the regular, you may remember that I talked a bit about my current hair-care routine in a recent post. Well, to continue this conversation, I’d like to take this opportunity to share some new hair-care products I’ve been using as of late.

I’ve often talked about how crazy my schedule tends to get and well, as much as I hate to admit it, because I love doing what I do, just how stressful running your own business can be! Though I was always well aware of how harmful stress can be in general, I am not sure I truly realized just how much it affects my hair and causes root and scalp concerns. But it isn’t just stress of course, it’s also the fact that I continuously put my hair through the wringer with constant coloring, heat styling, and styling product overuse. Beyond that, I live in LA, so things like pollution, recycled air and water contaminants are a given. Naturally, all of the above take a toll and scalp concerns like itchiness and irritation are definitely two major concerns I deal with.

On a recent trip to New York, as I was sitting at breakfast with my Kérastase fam, I happened to mention some of these concerns and they suggested a few products from the new Kérastase Spécifique line, designed specifically to care for the scalp and address the issues I’ve mentioned above. So, without further ado, here is what I’m using at the moment:

I start by washing my hair with Bain Stimuliste, an energizing shampoo designed specifically for normal or thinning hair to cleanse and sooth the scalp, and also to reduce itchiness. I often wash my hair before I go to bed and let it air-dry, this way I can skip blow-drying my hair and reduce some of the damage associated with it. Finally, once my hair is completely dry, I brush it for about 10 minutes with a boar bristle paddle brush to stimulate the scalp and increase blood circulation.

Next, I use Masque Hydra-Apaisant to moisturize and soothe the scalp. If I am not particularly pressed for time, I like to use this mask while taking a bath and keep it on for as long as possible. I find that the steam from the bath helps the product to absorb even better and makes my hair feel really smooth and soft after.

Last but certainly not least is the Traitement Intensif Anti-Affinement, designed specifically to recapture volume, shine, and flexibility, and to combat the appearance of thinning hair. Super easy to use, I apply it to clean, dry hair about 3 times a week and always make sure to massage the scalp after each application to really help it penetrate.

Though I haven’t been using this regimen for very long yet, I can definitely see a difference already. Aside from the scalp benefits, my hair feels much more manageable and flexible, so I am definitely planning on using these 3 on continues basis and of course keep you updated of my progress!

Hi Everyone! Hope all is well with you all! I’m excited to share another post with you containing a little slice of heaven that is Bermuda. I am currently back in LA and back to my crazy schedule and responsibilities, but writing this post certainly took me back (and I’ll take what I can get!). So, I though that I’d take this opportunity to share a few highlights, suggestions and favorite moments from our trip.

WHERE TO STAY:

We stayed at the Hamilton Princess and loved our stay there. Nicest staff, delicious restaurants, and beautiful views were some of my favorite things about it. However, the best part about this hotel is its private Beach Club; if I could stay in one of those over-water hammocks the entire day, I probably would! Some nights the Beach Club hosts dinners too, so if you happen to stay at Hamilton Princess, make sure to make a reservation to enjoy a meal by the perfectly blue water with a side of gorgeous sunset. As far as dining at the hotel, I highly recommend the Marcus’ (delicious brunch on Sundays!).

WHAT TO DO:

Besides checking out the beautiful beaches, we also managed to visit the Crystal Cave. It is so surreal! Discovered in 1905, it has been a tourist attraction since 1907, and it’s a must see if you’re in Bermuda. Often when traveling I get too busy to visit the touristy locations, so I’m glad I had time for this!

While we were in Bermuda, America’s Cup (sail racing) was in full swing, so Hamilton Princess was kind enough to set us up to experience it. While the sailing obviously happens out on the water, spectators get to enjoy it from a little island which is transformed into America’c Cup Village—it has a stage with performers, local food vendors, lounges, etc.  Even if you are not into sail racing, it’s a super fun place to be at.

To wrap up our last evening in Bermuda, we decided to venture out of our hotel zone and spend the afternoon at the Warwick Long Bay Beach. By far the most beautiful beach I have ever been on! The clearest bluest water ever with a hint of pink in the sand makes for the most perfect combination. Laying out on that beach made leaving Bermuda the next day that much harder.  I’m not going to lie, even since I left, I have been staring at my calendar to try and fit another visit to Hamilton Princess and Bermuda! Hopefully, it’ll be soon because I can’t wait to be back!

Sunny Santa Barbara

Wearing what’s become my unofficial uniform as of late ( previous sightings here & here ): a statement top and high-waisted crop jeans. The bold, sunny yellow number from Self Portrait I am wearing today, is definitely one of my favorite tops at the moment. In general, I always look for pieces with a bit of personality, something that makes them a bit more special, like color, cut or details and this top has it all and more!

One of the main reasons I love this top so much, other than the color of corse, is the neckline! Obviously, I am still more than a little obsessed with anything off the shoulder, but the combination of asymmetrical cut, ruffles, and a peek-a-boo shoulder makes this one a complete and total statement maker! I love to wear it with the most casual bottoms, like jeans and denim shorts for example, because it instantly adds polish even to the most casual of looks, but of course it’s also a great top to wear to go out. Basically, the possibility are endless, and of course you know how much I live for that!

After a few particularly busy weeks, we’re finalizing a couple of trips coming up this Summer, traveling a bit more than usual, and of course working on new content for VivaLuxury, Emil and I reached a tipping point and decided that we needed to take a break from work and spend few days doing a whole lot of nothing. Well, nothing work related that is!

We didn’t want to go anywhere far, yet we definitely needed to get out of LA for a while, so after considering a few of our all time favorites like Palm Springs and Laguna Beach, we decided that Santa Barbara was the perfect place to get away to for a couple of days.

Personally, I love Santa Barbara. Aside from the fact that the city is absolutely gorgeous, I think what I love about it the most is the multitude of activities it offers like hiking, biking, dining, wine tasting and shopping of course! As always, we ended up visiting some of our old favorites like Mesa Verde for example, which is a great little vegetarian restaurant that has some of the most delicious vegetarian food and shakes I have ever tried, but also discovering new things to love like McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams which was so good, we actually went back 3 times ( if you happen to be an ice cream lover like I am, I seriously recommend it, and Banana & Salted Caramel flavor was our particular favorite by far! )

On a separate note, I finally got to take out my vintage Chanel coat on a walk. I got it a few weeks ago and just haven’t had a chance to wear it before now. As I have previously mentioned, I’ve been really into vintage pieces lately and this sunny yellow Chanel coat is definitely one of my favorite recent finds. Aside from color and texture, what I love about this coat is how good it pairs with casual pieces like jeans and sneakers for example, yet it just as easily transforms into a polished topper if you throw it over a dress! Love this chameleon quality and always look for pieces I can dress up and down!
