BOHO BLOUSE

I've become quite obsessed with pretty boho blouses lately and the one I'm sporting in today's post is definitely a favorite at the moment. Aside from the fact that I love tops that I can easily pair with my Summer wardrobe staples like these One Teaspoon shorts, that I've been shamelessly wearing everywhere ( see more ways to wear them Here& Here ) & Chloé Inez bag ( last seen Here ), which has an uncanny ability to add a perfect finishing touch to just about everything from casual looks to dressy, and everything in between, I am always on a look out for effortlessly casual tops with just the right amount of embellishment and this particular one is a perfect example of that! Love the color and the print! And those tassels are just everything!

VINTAGE CHANEL

When it comes to combining colors, black and white is definitely my favorite pairing ever! So chic and classic, yet so striking and dramatic! Though I certainly wear this classic pairing on it's own quite  a bit ( last seen here& here ), once in a while, I like adding a touch of color by pairing black and white with a bright accessory. Today, this accessory happens to be my recent find and obsession du jour, i.e. a bright red vintage Chanel bag!

I've actually been looking for a red Chanel bag for a while now and though there were quite a few styles I absolutely loved, once I came across this beauty, it was pretty much game over! Obviously I fell in love with the color, because it's such a beautiful bright red, and the size, because it's a perfect option to pair with casual and also dressy looks. But what I found particularly appealing about it, is the fact that it's vintage and therefore a much more unique piece.

WEDDING SEASON READY

It's official, the wedding season is finally upon us! So, since I've never really talked about how Emil and I get ready for a special occasions, such as a wedding for example, I thought it would be fun to  share some of our time-tested recipes to make this day as enjoyable as possible!

After being together for a little over 10 years and attending countless weddings together, one of the most important things we've learned is the importance of fighting the urge to get stressed out and making sure to keep things as fun and relaxed as possible! Take last weekend for example, we were invited to a family friend's garden-themed wedding reception in West Hollywood on Saturday evening, so Emil and I decided that this was a perfect opportunity to have a staycation! So on Friday, we packed our weekenders and headed to WeHo! To set the right mood for the day, we spent Saturday morning indulging in some of favorites, i.e. brunching in bed, doing a bit of reading, but mostly, binge-watching old episodes of Family Guy! Basically, a perfect Saturday morning in every sense!

Since I always choose my outfits well in advance ( definitely a lot less stressful this way, plus you have ample time to think about hair and make up ), getting dressed takes me no time at all. The way I like to choose my outfits is by by thinking about the setting. Is the event taking place at a very formal banquet hall, or is it more of a casual outdoor party? On this particular occasion, it was a garden-themed wedding with a decidedly casual vibe, so I decided to forgo a formal dress and opted to wear a romantic ruffled two-piece in a prettiest shade of pink in stead. To continue with the romantic theme, I paired my ruffled two-piece with a cute cross-body mini bag in a matching shade of pink and sky-high metallic platform sandals, to add just a bit of dressiness to the look. Finishing touch, cute pearl ear cuffs, and a few layered rings in gold.

As far as evening make up goes, I definitely prefer that smoky-eye, nude lip look. On this occasion, because my outfit had such a soft and romantic feel, I didn't want to create a very heavy smoky-eye, so I went with very soft grayish, lavender eye shadow, cat eye liner and matte pinky-nude lipstick.

If you've been reading my blog for a while, you know that I prefer to wear my hair down, except maybe for a few very rare formal occasions, when up-do is an absolute must! Since romance was definitely the theme of the day, I decided that voluminous, softly sculpted waves were the perfect hair style to complete my outfit! Super simple to re-create, I started by spraying sections of my hair ( I worked with 2nd day hair, since my fine hair tends to hold styles better the next day ) with Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray. I always use this spay on my hair before curling or straightening because not only does it protect my hair from heat-damage but also keeps it very shiny, soft and manageable. Next, I curled 1 inch hair sections using a curling wand. Wands tend to work a bit faster than curling irons, so 2-5 seconds is definitely ample to time get that perfect curl. Once all of my hair was curled, I spayed sections of my hair with Tresemme TRES Two Extra Hold Hair Spray, making sure to hold the spray about 10 inches away from my hair! This one, is definitely my favorite extra-hold hair spray at the moment because while it helps to keep my hair styles in tact, it leaves my hair shiny, not matte and doesn't flake at all!

Super easy and simple, this look took me a little over an hour and a half start to finish, hair, make up and getting dressed included. I even had time to do my best Queen B impression while wearing Emil's suit ( my voice definitely needs some serious work, but getting it wrong is part of the fun ). As usual, I was dressed first, sitting on the couch, sipping my Rosé and watching Emil run around in his pjs, looking for his shoes, all while trying to tame his hair. Though his hair is super short, it's quite thick and course, so he used to spend ages getting it picture-ready. But he's made a switch to AXE Clean Cut Look Classic Pomade recently, which made things a lot easier!

P.S. We made it to the reception and this time around we were there on time! Well, .... practically on time! It's a work in progress! :)

SUMMER 2016 JEWELRY TRENDS - A FEW FAVORITES

$

Good morning and happy Friday, everyone! As you may already know, jewelry happens to be one of my major obsessions. In fact, I don't think I can style an outfit without adding a few key jewelry pieces. As I was making a list of things I'd like to add to my jewelry box this Summer, I thought it'd be fun to do a post dedicated to this summer's major jewelry trends, and particularly, some of the key pieces I think are an absolutely must-have. So, without further ado, here are some of my current favorites!

A TOUCH OF BRIGHT - For me, summer is all about color, and bright statement pieces definitely add a bit of drama to your look. The way I like to wear it is by choosing a single bright piece, like a pair of earrings for example, and keeping the rest of my jewelry to a minimum. Personally, I think that going with too many brightly-colored pieces at once tends to look a bit busy, which can distract from the overall impact of the look. But choosing a single item, makes it the focal point of the outfit and helps to create a really bold statement.

THE CHOKER NECKLACE - With so many beautiful options to choose from, a choker necklace is definitely one of my absolute must-haves this summer. So good with tailored toppers like blazers and jackets, I also love the way it pairs with simple white blouses and distressed denim to add just a touch of sophistication to this casual pairing.

CUFF BRACELETS - Cuff bracelets work with everything! Great with evening looks, think little black dress paired with a statement gold cuff, or casual looks, especially when paired with denim and easy, flowy tops. Personally, I love cuff bracelets because the possibilities of wearing them are absolutely endless, and of course you know how much I love versatility:)!

DRESSED UP BOHEMIAN - Body chains, hand chains, fringe and tassels -  I love them all! For me, boho jewels are that perfect finishing touch that helps transform even the simplest of looks into a polished ensemble! Perfect for layering, one of my favorite ways of wearing bohemian jewelry is by combining different colors, textures and sizes. For example, I might opt to go with a pair of tassel earrings, a hand chain and a fringe bracelet or necklace. Or..., even a few bracelets or necklaces! Because when it comes to boho jewels, the more you add, the better it looks! Naturally, I absolutely love that!

BAUBLE BAR Drop earrings { also love this bright yellowoption}, Crystal Raja body necklace, Glimmer hand chain { also love this one& this }, Gigi choker, Pavé alpha cuff, white stud bracelet trio { also love this tassel cuff & this initial chain cuff }

SPIRIT OF SUMMER

I don't think anything embodies the spirit of summer quite like an easy, throw-over-anything, boho blouse does! Come summer time, a great boho blouse is probably one of the first things I look for, and the brightly-colored number from March11 I'm sporting in today's look is my latest discovery! In general, I always look for pieces with a bit of personality. Something that makes them special, like color or embellishment, or as it happens to be in this case, both of the above! One of the main reasons I love this top so much is because it's such a statement-making piece. You can literally throw it over the most casual pair of jeans or denim shorts, and still end up looking polished and pulled together. Naturally, I really appreciate a piece that can transform and elevate my beloved denim separates to the next level!

KÉRASTASE MAGISTRAL

If you read my blog on the regular, you may remember that I had the pleasure of teaming up with a luxury hair care brand Kérastase while I was in Paris during February Fashion Week. As part of our collaboration, I got a chance to learn more about their iconic Nutritive and new Nutritive Magistral haircare ranges and find out first hand about the research and innovation behind the brand's latest technological advancements. I also got a behind the scenes glimpse into Kérastase's #HairLanguage campaign. The brand partnered with the former FBI agent, Joe Navarro to showcase the secret meaning behind the way women touch their hair. The campaign unveils that when a woman's hair is dry to the touch, her range of self-expression is limited, and Kérastase aims to help women revitalize  their hair so it is soft, smooth and completely irresistible to the touch!

After I came back from Paris, I continued using the Nutritive Magistral range, and I have to say that the results have been absolutely amazing! Seeing an enormous difference that the right products made in the way my hair looks and feels has been a completely transformative experience!

Though I briefly touched upon some of the challenges I face when it comes to taking care of my hair in the past, I'll mention some of them again, if you don't mind. The biggest challenge is definitely the constant sun exposure. Though I try to cover up my hair whenever I can, I simply cannot avoid the damaging heat and harsh sun rays altogether, so without special care, my hair can become very dry and brittle. Another challenge is styling. I curl or straighten my hair everyday, no exceptions. So, unless I use the right hair care products, heating tools wreak havoc on my hair, and leave it looking dry, frizzy, brittle and completely lackluster!

Since I've started using the Nutritive Magistral range the first and biggest difference I noticed is how much softer and shinier my hair is! The collection is formulated with resin from Benjoin Tree, which is able to recreate inner nutrition from within. Over time, the health of my hair definitely continued to improve and now, it's fuller, much more manageable, and easier to style! Naturally, I absolutely love that! As far as my current hair care routine is concerned, here is what I'm doing at the moment:

I start by washing my hair with Kérastase Bain Magistral, a deeply nourishing shampoo that softens the hair and makes it really shiny, smooth and soft to the touch.

Next, I apply Fondant Magistral, a daily, nourishing conditionerand keep it on for about 2-5 minutes. Once a week or whenever I feel that my hair needs a deep conditioning treatment, I like to use Masque Magistral, which is an intense nourishing treatment designed especially to replenish moisture for very dry hair.

Finally, before styling, I apply Crème Magistrale Nutrition Balm to towel dried hair. What I particularly like about this leave-in balm, is the fact that not only does it protect my hair from heat damage, it also leaves it shiny and smooth.

In addition to the at-home Nutritive Magistral regiment, once or twice a month I get the in-salon Nutritive Protocole Immunité custom-tailored treatment which is designed to nourish dry hair in just 15 minutes. What I particularly like about it is the fact that it is custom blended for each client depending on their level of dryness. So, for example when I come back from Palm Springs after spending a few days in dry heat, I definitely opt for an uber moisturizing treatment to keep my hair from going dry and frizzy! Honestly, this treatment is amazing and I highly recommend it, so if you find that your hair needs a little pampering CLICK HERE to find a Kérastase salon near you that offers this service.

A DAY IN SAN DIEGO

After spending 3 very relaxing days at Rancho Valencia, Emil and I decided to make a quick stop in San Diego before heading back to LA. We love SD, and it's been a while since our last visit, so we figured this was a perfect opportunity to visit a few of our favorite spots.

When we got to San Diego, we realized that it was definitely a bit cooler than Rancho Valencia, which was a nice surprise considering we planned to spend the day walking around. It was also a bit cloudy at first, but the sun came out by mid-day, and we ended up enjoying one of those amazingly beautiful days when everything comes together in the most magical way.

Our first stop - lunch at Cafe Gratitude. We love this place in LA, but we simply can't get over how cute the San Diego location is! Currently, we are a little more than obsessed with their vegan desserts and smoothies! Oh, and their salads and sandwiches are amazing as well!

Next, we headed to San Diego harbor, which is always a must whenever we find ourself in SD. The walk along the boardwalk is absolutely sunning, but I love a bit of history, so I definitely suggest checking out the Maritime Museum and especially, the Star of India - a gorgeous 19th century ship!

No trip to San Diego is complete without a stop at the Gaslamp Quarter! So lively and fun, it offers pretty much everything from beautiful, Victorian architecture to great music and amazing restaurants! Basically, for 2 complete and total foodies like us, it's an absolute heaven!

Speaking of restaurants, another current SD favorite is KEX in Little Italy. A great dinner spot, if you're looking for a cute place to hang out and enjoy some cocktails and appetizers, I highly recommend it! Oh, and the rooftop patio is seriously amazing!

The outfit I'm sporting in today's post is yet another one of my looks comprised entirely of all my current favorites from Express! Love the lightweight olivebomber because it's such a great layering piece! So good with casual dresses and denim, I also love the fact that I can easily dress it up with tailored bottoms and heels. White denimmini skirts are a particular obsession of mine, and the one I'm wearing today is a recent find and a current favorite. Not too long or too short, I love the distressed hem because it adds such a cute casual element to the look. Today, I paired it with a white body suit and studded sandals, but I also love the way it looks with oversized shirts and sneakers. But versatility and cuteness aside, what I love about these pieces the most is how comfortable they are. Lately, comfort has become more important to me that even, and I am constantly updating my wardrobe with pieces that not only look good but feel good on as well. And these certainly do, so naturally, I'm in love!:)

OFF THE SHOULDER RED DRESS

And my love affair with anything and everything off the shoulder continues... From dresses to tops, I just can't seem to get enough of this silhouette. So easy and feminine, I don't think anything captures the sprit of summer quite like a great off the shoulder piece does!

Today's cute H&M off the shoulder dress is probably one of my favorite dresses ever. Aside from the fact that I really love a great red dress in general ( recent favorites here& here ), I absolutely adore how casually effortless this one is. From the super flowy silhouette, and tassel-embellished sleeves, to airy cotton fabric that seems to move with every single step you take, I love it all!

For today's look, I paired with my Mark Cross rattan & leather bag and Tory Burch tassel sandals, but I've worn it in a much more casual way, paired with Chloe Hudson studded cross body bag& black studded sandals ( last seen here ) and it worked just as well!  Basically, the possibilities of wearing it are completely endless, and of course you know how I feel about that! :)

WEEKEND GETAWAY PACKING LIST

I'll be the first to admit that my packing game was not always strong. In fact, up until very recently, I was definitely guilty of sporadic packing, as a result of which, I'd often bring way more things than I actually needed. Another major downside of my packing strategy was the failure to take into account the where and the what, by which I mean, the place we would be visiting and what it is we were planning to do. So, I'd often forget to bring some of the things I would now consider my absolute weekend getaway must haves.

Well, practice does make perfect I suppose, and after a few disastrous trips, I've learned that when it comes to packing smart, versatility is definitely the best way to go! Take our trip to Rancho Valencia for example. I wanted to pack a few things that I could easily dress down for day or up for night. So, I went with a cute off the shoulder top ( also loving this one& this pretty chiffon mint one ), that I could pair with casual paperbag waist shorts for day and skinny jeans and heels for night.

Comfort is very important to me, so a pair of flats is always a must! Reason why I love these Olgana Paris floral-details flats is because the buttery soft suede makes them so comfortable I could literally run around in them all day long, yet the pretty details and embellishment definitely make them special enough to wear at night!

Another absolute must, is a great cover up! What I normally look for is something I can easily throw over a bikini during the day, yet something special enough I could wear to dinner, paired with dressier shoes and a clutch ( good examples here& here ).

Last but certainly not least is jewelry. On of the easiest ways to dress up an outfit, I always make sure to take a few cute bangles, rings and necklaces with me, so I could add a bit of sparkle to my night-time outfits!:)

PANDORA'S SUMMER 2016 COLLECTION

I've always been a believer in the power of accessories! I do love clothing of course, yet something about accessories captures my imagination unlike anything else. In fact, a lot of my outfits begin with an accessory. A great pair of heels, a cute bag, or like in the case of today's look, a few sparkly favorites from PANDORA's Summer collection

If you read my blog on the regular, you probably already know that PANDORA jewelry holds a very special place in my heart. I think my obsessions started when I first spotted a classic PANDORA bracelet with charms, and was really drawn to the idea that every single charm is not just a beautiful piece of jewelry, but has a very special meaning expressed through the design.

Another reason why PANDORA is such a favorite is because a lot of really special moments in my life were commemorated with PANDORA jewelry, and each and every piece I currently own came with a beautiful story. Among my favorites, is the bracelet Emil give me for my birthday, a pair of drop earrings I found on my dressing table the day I was leaving for Paris Fashion Week, and a lovely necklace which was initially meant as an anniversary present, but ended up as a "just because" present to lift my spirits on a particularly awful Tuesday:) The pieces I am wearing in today's post are no exception, and came with a story as well:)

I've been dropping hints about how much I love PANDORA's Summer collection left, right and center. Aside from the fact that I really love how delicate, soft and feminine these pieces are, I always had a soft spot for blue and turquoise blue is definitely one of my all-time favorites! Well, I got up on Saturday morning to find these pretty hand-crafted jewels waiting for me! Thank you, PANDORA for sending me pieces from the new collection!:) Suffice to say I am literally over the moon and I just can't bring myself to stop wearing them obsessively! So pretty and delicate, you know how much I love jewelry I can layer and these bracelets and earrings layer beautifully! So, I have a feeling you'll be seeing quite a bit of the in the future!

LITTLE WHITE LACE

I think I've always been a bit partial to a little white dress, and white lace dresses happen to be my particular weakness ( a really pretty midi here& a cute v-neck mini here ). So light and airy, come summer time, a white lace dress is always high up on my must-have list, and the pretty Alexis Gem number I am sporting in today's look, is my latest find! Love absolutely everything about it, from fit, to length, to flared-cuff sleeves and tiered mini skirt.

For today's look, I dressed it up with my Nicholas Kirkwood platform sandals and a vintage Chanel bag, but what I love about this dress so much, is the fact that I can easily dress it down with a pair of flats ( recently wore it with sandals from this post ) and a simple cross body bag ( love the way it looks with this rattan Mark Cross bag ) for a much more easy-going, day-time appropriate vibe. And of course I don't have to tell you how much I love pieces that work for day and night! :)

FUN FLORAL

Good morning and happy Saturday, Everyone! I just wanted to say a quick hello and share a few images of a super cute floral-print dress I wore to dinner with Emil recently. Normally, I am pretty loyal to solid colors. If I dare to venture into the print territory, I go with the time-tested classics like stripes or polka dots. But every rule has an exception I suppose, because something about this pretty floral print and the color combo just spoke to me. Flirty and fun, this dress has such a summery look and feel! I am also a little partial to dresses I can dress up or down, and this dress just happens to be one of those wear-with-anything numbers I am always obsessing about! So, win, win in every possible way!:)

I think what we love about Rancho Valencia the most is the fact that no matter how many times we stay there, we always find something new to love. A relaxing spa treatment ( currently obsessing over the Citrus Supreme facial ) or savory treat at Veladora ( I especially recommend trying the Salted Caramel Smore's Tart ), Rancho Valencia never fails to surprise us in the most wonderful way, and this time around, was no exception! We spent a few amazing days soaking up the sun, wining and dining and of course exploring, and though time definitely tends to fly by whenever we stay at Rancho Valencia, we came back revived, refreshed and ready for action!:)

EASY SUMMER SEPARATES

When it comes to go-to summer pieces, not-so-basic basics is what I tend to stock up on the most. Easy, breezy and comfy, summer basics never go out of style and work for pretty much any occasion imaginable, the latter, being the quality I am particularly attracted to!

Today's outfit is a combination of a just a few of those can't-live-without basics I am always gushing about. The denim shorts I'm sporting in today's look definitely made more than a few appearances on this blog ( last seen here& here ). Though I have a soft spot for One Teaspoon denim in general, the reason these particular denim cut-offs are so special to me is because of the way they fit! Love the the uber flattering angled cuff because it elongates the leg like nothing else and the slightly slouchy fit because it creates such an easy, casual vibe!

The Voile Grid shirt from Jonathan Simkhai is my favorite chameleon piece at the moment! So good paired with any casual separates ( worn with skinny denim here ), it works just as well with dressier pieces like a tailored white mini or skinny cropped pants, for example.

Last but certainly not least are my Tory Burch embroidered sneakers! In general, I would say that   a pair of white sneakers is an absolute summer must have. But you know me, I am a sucker for details, and in my opinion, lacy embroidery makes these so much more special! :)

MAUI MEMORIES

People often say that one of the best aspects of traveling is the fact that it expends your horizons, and though I definitely agree with this statement, when I think about what it is that I love about traveling so much, I feel that it's the memories I acquire that I treasure the most. I don't know if it's just me, but when I travel, I feel that somehow I am more open, in tune with reality, and perhaps to some degree, even more aware of everything around me, which is possibly the reason why experiences feel richer and create much more lasting and vivid memories. To give an example, if I had to give account of my Tuesday in LA last week, I would have to pause for a moment and think about it, yet I could describe  a trip I took with my parents when I was just 5 years old with great detail. Why is it that I treasure memories so much? Mostly, because I think that life in general is really a collection of memories, and  it makes sense to acquire as many lasting ones as you possibly can, so that when you look back you can savor them or re-live them if you will, again and again!

P.S. Stay tuned for another Maui post coming up next week, where I talk about all my favorite places and things to do! Special thank you to Ritz-Carlton Kapalua Maui for making our stay absolutely unforgettable!

3 DIFFERENT HAIR STYLES IN 3 DAYS

$

Good morning, Everyone! I hope your week is going great so far. As you may already know, I am a bit of a hair-care fanatic, which is why I am always searching for new products to introduce to my hair-care and hair-styling routines. Today, I'd like to talk to you about my latest discovery and current obsession - Kérastase L'incroyable Blowdry Reshapable Heat Lotion.

I was first introduced to this product during Paris Fashion Week when I spent an incredible day with Kérastase Consulting Hairstylist, Odile Gilbert, who is one of the most celebrated hair stylists in the world, and the mastermind behind the most iconic hair moments in fashion history. As we were casually talking about everything from Paris Haute Couture, runway hair and favorite hair products, I decided to seize the moment and ask Odile for some hair styling advice. As I previously mentioned, I am not a big fan of stiff hair. I like shiny, healthy-looking hair that moves, and doesn't feel crunchy or dry. Yet most styling products I've tried in the past, made my hair look stiff and dull. After I described my hair styling dilemma to Odile, she suggested Kérastase L'incroyable, as her favorite styling product du jour.

Following her advice, I started using Kérastase L'incroyable, and I have to say that it's my favorite hair-styling product to date! Aside from the fact that it locks in the style while leaving my hair shiny and full of movement,  what is so different about this first of it's kind reshapable heat lotion is the fact that it has shape memory, so you can change up your look ( curls to straight, for example ) without needing to apply more product each time, and you can restyle your hair over and over again without getting that buildup feel. So essentially, you can do 3 different styles over 3 days without having to wash your hair to get rid of product buildup or applying more product! Naturally, I love that!

The way Kérastase L'incroyable works is actually pretty genius, because it contains non-sticky beeswax micro particles which are stimulated by heat. Once the heat is applied, the micro particles melt and lock in the style and the particles can be reactivated when heat is applied, which means you can create multiple hair styles over multiple days!

To demonstrate the way Kérastase L'incroyable blow dry works, I decided to create 3 of my favorite hair styles over the course of 3 days. I did not wash my hair, nor did I apply more product.

Day 1 - Loose curls: After washing and conditioning my hair, I applied Kérastase L'incroyable to damp hair, then blow dried it with a paddle brush. Once my hair was completely dry, I used a jumbo curling wand, to create loose, slightly messy waves. To achieve this look, I curl medium-sized section, making sure to curl the front sections away from the face. The whole styling process took me about 15 minutes but results lasted all day! YAY!

Day 2 - Perfectly Straight: When I got up next morning, I felt that a sleek, straight style would work best to complement my tailored blazer, skinny jeans combo of the day. So, I simply straightened my hair with a fat iron. The whole process took me about 5 minutes, yet once again, the style looked great all day!

Day 3 - Messy Up-Do: I love the way slightly messy up-dos downplay dressy pieces to create that nonchalant, easy going feel. To achieve this look, I started by parting my hair about half way. Next, I teased the bottom section with a testing comb, then put it in a loose, messy bun. Next, I curled the top  section of my hair with a small curling wand. Once the top section was completely curled, I teased 2-inch section of my hair, paying special attention to the top of the head. Finally, I pinned small section to the bun using small bobby pins. And voila! All done!

P.S. As always, please feel free to shoot me an email of you have any questions about the hairstyles!

DATE NIGHT

It certainly feels like Emil and I got married just yesterday! Well, maybe not exactly yesterday, but definitely very recently, which is probably why the fact that this year marks our 9th wedding anniversary feels a bit surreal!:) I mean, I can hardly believe it when I say it out loud... we've been married for 9 years, and together for 10 and a half!

Unlike Valentine's Day and Birthdays, when it comes to celebrating our wedding anniversary, we don't have a set tradition. Sometimes we like to get away somewhere romantic, other times, we simply stay home all day watching silly movies and eating way too much pizza, and sometimes, like this year for example, we opt for a fun date night at our favorite restaurant! This year the restaurant of choice was The Farm in Malibu. Super laid back, the food is delicious and the views are amazing! Watching the sun set over the ocean, while sipping on Rosé..., YES PLEASE!

When it comes to choosing a perfect date night look, I usually opt for something very feminine and romantic. This year, I went with a beautiful floral-print Express dress from Express Edition new collection.  A huge fan of dresses in general (as you probably already know), what I love about this dress in particular, is the fit and the fabric! Light-as-air, flowy and pretty, this dress is a perfect example of those twirl-worthy numbers I am always talking about! Since I knew that it gets a bit chilly in Malibu, I paired the dress with Express Edition light-pink suede jacket. I always loved combining very feminine pieces with slightly masculine ones, but this combination is definitely one of my personal favorites as of late! The light pink gives this jacket a much softer appeal and in my opinion ties in perfectly with the slightly girly, romantic theme of this outfit! Basically, a win-win kind a situation, and of course you know how much I love that!

What about you guys, do you have any anniversary traditions?

BLACKOUT : HIGH RISE DENIM + OFF THE SHOULDER TOP

Wearing what has become a uniform of sorts for me lately - flare jeans and an off the shoulder top! Though I have been practically obsessed with anything off the shoulder in general as of late ( last sighting here& here }, what I particularly love about the one I'm sporting in today's post, is the fitted silhouette. So good with anything from jeans and voluminous bottoms, I also love the way it layers under tailored pieces, like suits for example.

For today's look, I chose to pair it with high rise flare jeans, which are definitely one of my favorite pairs at the moment. Aside from the fact that a pair of black flares is pretty much a closet staple ( personally, I often wear them in stead of dress pants because they pair so beautifully with blazers ), this pair in particular is everything I love about flare jeans and more! Perfectly fitted, when it comes to flare jeans, length is extremely important to me. You see, I hate short flare jeans! Something about that proportion just feels so wrong, so I am always looking for a pair long enough to cover my heels completely and these ones certainly do ( another favorite here )! So, we've been practically inseparable lately!:)

P.S. Since it's been so hot in LA lately, we've been spending an enormous amount of time in Malibu lately, and Malibu Country Mart in particular. Though we've been coming here for years, we just never get tired of this place! Honestly, it's a perfect spot to hang out, do a little shopping, play a bit of table tennis ( Emil thought me how to play and I am completely addicted now ) and most importantly, indulge in some wining and dining:) Our favorite restaurant by far is Cafe Habana! Shrimp tacos and ice cold mojitos are absolutely delicious, so if you haven't gone yet, I definitely recommend it!

Though we've been back in LA for a little over a week now, I am still dreaming of our Hawaiian adventures! To say that Maui is beautiful, is to say nothing at all! Pretty as a post card, everything about Maui is absolutely perfect! I mean it! The weather, the beaches, the food and of course the atmosphere, which somehow feels easy and welcoming at the same time!

Though I have to admit that we spent quite a bit of time working on our tans by the pool, I am very glad that found the time to go exploring! One of the things we ended up enjoying the most was simply driving along the coastline, making stops along the way to explore various beaches, all of which were very different and breathtakingly beautiful in their own unique way. My personal favorite was definitely the Kapalua Bay beach which had crystal clear water, white-sand shore line and vibrant marine life below. So, if you happen to enjoy snorkeling, I definitely recommend checking it out! Another favorite, was the D.T. Fleming beach! In stark contrast to Kapalua Bay beach, D.T. Fleming was somehow less polished and manicured, but had this ruggedly beautiful appeal that kept us coming back again and again. On one of those occasions, we ended up getting there just in time to watch a beautiful lavender-hued sunset, the likes of which I have never experienced anywhere outside of Hawaii!

Another definite recommendation is The Feast at Lele! I've talked quite a bit about what a complete and total foodie I am, so when we came across an opportunity to enjoy a culinary adventure through Polynesian islands just steps away from the beach, we quickly decided that this was not something we wanted to miss! Well, I am very glad we didn't because the food was delicious, the pink sunset was so picturesque, the entire restaurant got up to snap pictures, and live Polynesian music and dancing made this evening completely unforgettable!

Another favorite aspect of this trip was taking just my weekender bag with me! Now, you may laugh about this, but since I am still working on conquering my packing demons, traveling with a carry-on versus my usual 30 suitcases was a very proud moment for me! Aside from zipping through the airport in a matter of minutes, being able to find things in my bag instead of digging though a few trying to remember where I put my curling iron was a welcome change indeed. And yes, I did take my curling iron with me. Perhaps someday I will leave my hair gadgets at home when I go on vacations, but for now it's curling iron and a hair straightener! Baby steps, right? That's what it's all about! Though packing light is still a bit of a learning process for me, what I find works best when it comes to packing sensibly, is taking items that I can wear in a multitude of ways and dress up or down with accessories depending on occasion. The one item that ended up being my absolute go-to for just about everything, was my Lo & Sons cross body bag which doubles as a clutch. Aside from the fact that I love a white bag for summer because it goes with absolutely everything, what I really appreciate about this cross body is the fact that it has really nifty pockets which are super convenient for organizing travel and everyday essentials, a feature that is literally life saving for a messy bag winner of the year like me! Basically, if I can fit all my lipsticks, hair brushes, phone, mini-iPad or a tablet in my bag in a neat way, I am a happy girl indeed! Also, and I don't know if it's just me, but I really prefer cross-body bags for day and clutches for night. Super convenient, cross-body bags leave your hands free and also you don't have to worry about leaving your bag behind somewhere! By the way, been there and done that! So, lesson learned, cross body is definitely the style for me!:) And as far as clutches are concerned, I feel that they immediately dress up even the simplest of looks and make them a lot more night time appropriate!

Wearing yet another one of those outfits comprised entirely off all my current favorites! By now, I am sure you know just how obsessed I am with off the shoulder tops, but if an off the shoulder top also happens to be striped and blue, well... that's even better!

Another current obsession is blocked heels, and these Gianvitto Rossi sandals are definitely my favorite pair at the moment! Though they have a very easy-going, nonchalant appeal, the wrap around ankle detailing, combined with a really chic criss-cross open toe, definitely takes them into a statement-shoe territory, which makes them pair well with casual and dressy pieces alike! I also really appreciate how comfortable they are. Now, you know I wear heels a lot and honestly, I do sacrifice comfort if I happen to really like the way a shoe looks. But these babies are both, gorgeous and comfy! Naturally, I am obsessed!
