PARIS FASHION WEEK BLUES

Just wanted to say a quick hello and share a few images of my second look for Paris Fashion Week. As you well know, blue is one of my favorite colors and with this look, I wanted to play with various shades of blues and grays. Though I think blue works well with pretty much any color imaginable, I especially love the way it pairs with gray. I think it's a very soft combination, which allows blue to be the focal point of the look. What do you guys think?

PARIS ADVENTURES : STOLEN BAG & GETTING BACK HOME

I was actually reluctant to share this story with you guys at first because generally speaking, I like to reserve this site for good things only. But upon further consideration, if it might serve as a cautionary tale and possibly save someone from finding themselves in similar circumstances, then at least something good will come of it!

So, as I am writing this post, the Loewe bag pictured is no longer with me. It was stolen roughly half an hour after this shoot. My friend and I came to a cafe, I placed the bag on a table next to me, turned around to move the chair closer to the table we were going to sit at and when I turned back, the bag was gone! The first thing I remember is being in a state of complete shock, that ugly wave of panic running down my spine and complete and utter inability to accept what just happened. I am not exaggerating when I say that I say I turned around for 3 seconds at most. In fact, it happened so quickly that it took me a while just to realize that my bag was stolen. Like an idiot, I obsessively kept looking for it under the table and on chairs, thinking maybe I placed it somewhere else.

It took me a while to regain what I would call a normal brain function, it was difficult to speak and my hands were shaken a little, but once I did, the grim reality set in. Sure, I mourned the loss of the bag, but though I quickly cancelled my credit cards, locked my phone and scheduled an appointment to replace my driver's license, I've made a crucial mistake of carrying important travel documents with me. Those of course were now gone with my bag and the prospect of getting home to LA was looking a bit grim.

I saw the first ray of sunshine when I realized I left my passport in my room, which by the way was a complete and total fluke. I was changing bags that morning and simply didn't take it with me! And so, after consulting with US Embassy, because I had my passport with me, I was able to get home alright.

Thinking back on what happened, I still find it difficult not to blame myself and imagine scenarios where I didn't put my bag down or turned around a bit more quickly or did something differently and my bag would still be with me. But that's the worst part of when something is stollen from you, isn't it? You blame yourself! Yet we should not! The blame lies completely with a person who, took something from you, fully realizing I'm sure, how divesting the outcome would be!

So, since this is rather a cautionary tale than a whiny story:), I'd like to end this post on a good note, saying that I'm back in LA safely, thanks to US Embassy in Paris and the nicest gentlemen at US Customs, planning on leaving all my important documents in a hotel safe from now on and thinking about my next trip to Paris! Because, nothing, and I say absolutely nothing, will ever ruin going to Paris for me! :)

A GUIDE TO ABBOT KINNEY :: ALL MY FAVORITE SPOTS

Good morning, Everyone! Hope your week is going great so far! I wanted to take this opportunity to share a few of my  favorites spots on Abbot Kinney, a cute shopping and dining destination in Marina del Rey Emil and I like to frequent.

Eclectic, fun and stylish, if you're looking for a great shopping and dining spot, Abbot Kinney is definitely on of my favorite walkable neighborhoods in LA. Aside from the fact that you can shop while enjoying warm Cali sun, what I like about Abbot Kinney the most, is the great variety of shops you can find here. Unique clothing and accessories boutiques, flower shops, furniture and home goods stores, art galleries and chic restaurants, all conveniently located within a few blocks.

A Few Personal Favorites:

Though there are certainly a few cute coffee shops on Abbot Kinney, since I was pretty much born with a coffee cup in my hand, I like to enjoy it on the go. Normally, I head over to TOMS Roasting Co. Coffee to get my caffeine fix. The rustic decor is beyond cute and the coffee is great, I mean, what else can a girl ask for?:)

One of my go-to places to get great basics like jeans and tees is Rag & Bone, and the Abbot Kinney location is definitely a favorite by far. This loft-style boutique also features the cutest back-yard garden patio, where you can lounge around while basking in warm California sun.

I've never been much of a dessert addict. Pasta and pizza, YES! But as far as desserts are concerned, Emil definitely has much more of a sweet tooth than I do. Having said that, whenever we find ourselves on Abbot Kinney, I can never resist getting ice cream at Salt & Straw! The ice cream is absolutely delicious and selection of flavors is seriously amazing. BTW, if you happen to stop by, I seriously suggest trying Honey Lavender! :)

As I mentioned before, there are a few really cool restaurants on Abbot Kinney, but the one place Emil and I are completely obsessed with is Gjelina. The food is just insanely good, and rustic chic decor makes this place one of our favorite spots to grab dinner. If you happen to stop by, I suggest trying any of their pizzas or a smoked trout salad, which is absolutely yummy! One thing I would recommend is making a reservation, because they do tend to get quite busy for dinner.

MEET ME IN MALIBU

After living in California for 10 years, I'm ashamed to say that I've become quite a wimp when it comes to tolerating cold temperatures. So normally, whenever we come back to LA after traveling somewhere cold, the first order of business is to spend a day in Malibu, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying beautiful Cali weather.

This time was no exception of course! Since Paris was quite cold, windy and even snowy at times, we decided to take a day off and hit a few of our favorite spots in Malibu. We stopped by our favorite flower shop, which has the best selection of daisies ( one of my personal favorites, especially in pink ), did a little shopping at Malibu Country mart and grabbed some dinner at Le Pain Quotidien, because both Emil and I are completely obsessed with their tartines, turkey/avocado being my particular favorite!

Since I knew we were going to be walking quite a bit, I wanted to wear something cute yet comfortable. I got theExpress lace-updress I'm sporting in today's post, just before I left for Paris and haven't had the chance to wear it before I left. Since this adorable, comfy boho-number seemed absolutely perfect for a day packed with activities, I jumped at the chance to wear it. Though this beautiful shade of nutmeg brown works with a variety of colors ( gold and orange in particular, I think ) this time around I wanted to do something a bit different and paired it with wrapped metal rose goldcuffs and rose gold square cat eyesunnies, both from Express. I completed the look with some pink lace up flats and a neutral-hued bucket bag. What I particularly like about wearing these colors together is how beautifully they complement each other and also what a soft combination they really make!

PARIS FASHION WEEK READY WITH KÉRASTASE

If you guys follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I teamed up with luxury haircare brand, Kérastase to keep my hair looking beautiful throughout Paris Fashion Week. You see, I had gone to Palm Springs for a few very relaxing days right before the craziness of Paris, which was a great idea, but the combination of blazing hot sun and chlorinated water did a number on my hair and my do was looking a bit lackluster to say the least. Luckily, Kérastase was there to help transform my hair!

Though I've been using Kérastase products for some time now, it was so special to visit one of the salons in the brand's hometown of Paris! I had a hair appointment set up at MH Coiffeur, which started with a deep conditioning treatment. After washing my hair with Kerastase Bain Satin 2 Shampoo, designed specifically to care for dry hair, the stylist applied Masquintense Thick, which is a hydrating and moisturizing treatment mask made to nourish damaged hair. He left it on for about 15 minutes to help repair my hair, leaving it noticeably more healthy, smooth and shiny.

When it came to styling my hair, I wanted to try something different than the loose, messy curls that I normally wear. This time, we went with a straight, voluminous style instead! Normally, I am reluctant to wear my hair straight because it's so fine and lacks volume,  but I loved how this style looked! Smooth, shiny and perfectly straight - and the deep conditioning treatment didn't weigh it down at all! Honestly, from now on, that's the way I want my hair to look everyday! The style also stayed intact, despite the fact that we ended up walking around windy, rainy Paris all day! So, YAY!

Aside from getting my hair in shape, I also had the pleasure of attending an intimate event showcasing the iconic Nutritive hair care range that was first launched in 1979. Since I am a big fan of Nutritive hair care products, it was really interesting to hear how Kérastase's Nutritive formula progressed over the years. I certainly didn't realize just how dedicated researchers at L'Oreal are and how much effort is applied to include the latest technological advancements and improve even the best-selling products so we can all walk around with amazing hair! :)

I also had the pleasure of meeting January Jones, the brand's latest muse. Since I am a huge Mad Man fan, and absolutely loved January Jones's character on the show, you can imagine what a pleasure it was to meet her in person. Even more stunning than you can imagine, after speaking to her for five minutes, I felt like I've known her for years. We ended up talking about everything from her personal style to her favorite off-duty hairstyles, most of which we actually share. I guess high bun and low pony tail will always remain a classic:)

It was an absolutely magical evening and I would like to thank the Kerastase team for making this trip to Paris absolutely unforgettable!

DRESSING WITH CONFIDENCE

Good morning, Everyone! Hope you day is off to a great start! I am very excited to partner with bebe to talk to you a little bit about what makes me feel confident and what dressing with confidence means to me. I think that dressing with confidence has very little to do with wearing the latest trends. It's really about feeling good about what you're wearing. For me, that feeling came from finding my personal style, knowing what I like and finally understanding what works best for me! The latter, was a lesson learned through trial and error, because frankly, no matter how much I love certain styles, I could never pull them off! That's totally fine though, there is plenty of fish ( other style options ) available! Once I found myself and realized what it is that makes me feel most comfortable, that's when I was really able to express myself with confidence. And really, I think it's the same for everyone! When you find your style, discover what makes you feel good, that's when you can start dressing with confidence!

If a had to describe my style in a few words, I'd say polished femininity is what comes to mind first. I guess I'm a bit of a girly girl after all:) Though I don't exclusively wear uber feminine pieces, in fact I'm a big fan of jeans and jackets for day-time, I love to add a bit of a feminine touch to all my looks. For today's day-time outfit, that little bit of femininity comes from paring wide-legged trousers with a blush-coloredtrench coat, a few sparkly rings and a coil necklace.

Night-time looks are no exception and today's outfit is a perfect example of that. A pretty lace-trim pleated skirt, paired with a waist-enhancing vest and a pair of cute ankle boots. Clean, polished and girly! Finishing touch, a fun clutch and a pretty choker necklace!:)

What about you guys, what does dressing with confidence mean to you?

LANVIN STRIPES IN PARIS

Wearing what is probably one of my favorite Paris Fashion Week looks. Given my weakness for bright colors and full, flowy skirts, the moment I spotted this striped perfection from Lanvin on LUISAVIAROMA, it was pretty much game over! I love absolutely everything about it, from length and color, to fit and silhouette! Oh, and how fun are those side pockets! I don't know what it is, but I love when really dressy skirts feature little casual details such as side pockets. I just feel that adding that casual touch makes a skirt a bit more fun and certainly a lot more day-time appropriate:)

Since I wanted to keep all of the attention on the skirt, for today's look, I paired it with a ruffled-collared blouse, a pair of black pumps and a cream-colored Valentino tote. Reason why I went with a tote rather than a clutch is because I feel that a slightly more substantial bag makes this outfit a bit more day-time appropriate. Well, that's really one of the reasons:) The other reason is that I am utterly obsessed with this bag at the moment and find it very difficult not to wear it all the time and with everything, denim cut-offs included! Luckily, it happen to work quite nicely with this particular look, so no fashion faux pas had to be made:)!

NOT A BASIC BRUNETTE

As I was getting ready for Paris Fashion Week, I felt that my hair color needed a bit of a lift! So, I teamed up with John Frieda® Hair Care to try their new Brilliant Brunette® collection of shampoos, conditioners and in-shower treatments. Reason why I was so excited to test out Brilliant Brunette® is because this collection consists of products which can lighten, deepen and brighten your color, right in the shower!  And I don't know about you guys, but I can definitely get on board with being able to play with my hair color every time I shower!:)

Deciding whether to go lighter or deeper seemed equally appealing at first, but since I'm really fond of my dark brown color, I opted to deepen my shade. Though I have to say that the biggest change came after the 3rd wash, I actually noticed quite a difference even after using the Brilliant Brunette® Visibly Deeper™ shampoo and conditioner for the first time because my color definitely had much more dimension! I saw the most dramatic change after the third wash. My color, which was a bit faded and flat before, looked much richer, lustrous and a lot more vibrant! Best way to describe it, Not a Basic Brunette, indeed!:)

BTW, my little trick is to keep the shampoo on for a bit longer. I started by applying shampoo all over my hair from root to tip. Next, I put on a shover cap and left it on for about 5 minutes. Finally, after washing the shampoo out, I rinsed my hair with cool water to really bring out the shine! And voila! Instantly deeper, more brilliant color in just 5 minutes in a convenience of my own shower! Love that!

P.S. As always, please feel free to shoot me an email if you have any product questions, I'd be happy to answer!:)

A STEP INTO SPRING

I love spring! In some ways I think it has to do with the fact that for me, spring signals the end of cold, gloomy winter and the beginning of my favorite time of the year, but also because everything feels fresh, new and exciting and honestly, I feel like a completely different person! Though I often gravitate towards a deeper and darker color palette for winter, come spring time, pretty pastels and brights is all I want to wear! This year is no exception of course and today's look is a perfect example of that.

I got this dress to wear to a mini anniversary Emil and I had last week. Though originally, we were planning to get away to Napa for a few days, our schedule got in a way, so we ended up spending a very romantic evening at one of our favorite restaurants and taking a stroll down a beautiful,  bougainvillea-covered street in West Hollywood.

The jewels I'm wearing in today's post were actually an early anniversary present from Emil. Well, they weren't intended as an early present, but I found them before he got a chance to give them to me, so yes, technically speaking an early present :) You see, I'm a bit of PANDORA Jewelry fanatic! I know, I mentioned this a few times, but just in case you haven't been following for long, I've discovered this brand about 3 years ago, and have been wearing it non-stop pretty much since. I think what attracted me to PANDORA in the first place is the femininity and delicacy of their jewels and also, because I prefer a bit of drama when it comes to wearing jewelry, the ability to layer as many or as few pieces depending on occasion.

Today, I'm wearing a few favorites from PANDORA's Spring Collection. As I have mentioned before, I love delicate pieces, and to me, these gorgeous floral and crystal incrusted bracelets, rings and earrings are the epitome of elegance. Because I wanted jewelry to be the facial point of this look, I decided to layer a few bracelets and charms and stack rings to maximize the impact. Normally, when I layer jewels, I prefer to stick to a common theme yet play around with various textures and sizes. For this look, I went with sterling silver, crystals and florals with just a touch of sky-blue to add a pop of color to the look. To me, this combination is both elegant yet impactful. And I don't know about you guys, but when it comes to jewels, maximum impact is definitely a good thing! :)

P.S. I'll be partnering with PANDORA this Festival Season, so be sure to follow my adventures on my instagram and CLICK HERE to check out a few of my #FESTIVALREADY PANDORA favorites!

OFF THE SHOULDER OBSESSION

I have never met an off-the-shoulder top I didn't like! No, seriously! Something about this particular neckline got me completely hooked! In fact, if I had to name a single trend that I never want to go out of style, off-the-shoulder would definitely be it!

Today's gingham perfection is one of my current favorites! Love the print and the ruffle, but also the oversized fit which gives it a lot of movement so that you just can't help but twirl every time you wear it. To me, it's a perfect summer top to wear with everything from jeans to shorts or even on it's own, as a cute beach coverup!

Though I've worn it with just about everything, today's pairing is probably one of my favorites! Distressed skinnies, chunky black & white embellished heels and a pop of red, thanks to an oversized Anya Hindmarsh tote, which is actually one of my favorite bags at the moment because unlike most of my other bags, it fits more than my phone and my wallet:)

TRENCH DRESSING

Trench coats make the best dresses ( check out another trench coat worn as a dress moment here )! No, seriously! First, they've got that uber flattering fit and flare silhouette going for them, secondly the structured, tailored collar and shoulders add that chic factor. Personally, I can never resist that collar up, hair tucked in, sunglasses on moment whenever I wear a trench. Fact that my hair is way too short to stay inside the collar properly is another story, but I still try. There's no harm in trying, right?:) And last but not least, details like buttons and pockets make everything a little more special. No? Well, maybe it's just me, but I get a bit obsessed over details:)

EVERYDAY MAKE-UP LOOK

$

If you read my blog on the regular, you probably know that make-up happens to be an obsession of mine. I can literally spend hours experimenting with different colors, trying out new techniques, products and looks. Yet, as much as I love going uber glam once in a while, as far as everyday make-up is concerned, natural and fresh is what I generally prefer! Since I recently changed my go-to everyday make-up a bit, I thought I'd take this opportunity to talk a little bit about what I've been doing lately.

First and foremost, when I do my everyday make-up, I don't generally want to spend a lot of time on it. So, I've developed a routine that takes me less then 10 minutes.

Currently, I'm using a new BB Cream from Burt's Bees in Medium, though it's available in 3 shades ( Light, Light/Medium and Medium ). I like that this particular BB Cream goes on as a lightweight foundation and creates a very natural-looking finish. As I mentioned before, I like natural make-up and I absolutely hate when foundation looks obvious, but this one doesn't, so obviously I love it! Secondly, it feels like a super-hydrating lotion and contains SPF 15, so it actually cares for my skin every time I wear it! Now, I don't know about you guys, but personally I love wearing foundation which nourishes and protects my skin while concealing flaws and imperfections:)

I prefer to apply BB Cream with a make-up brush. Though you can certainly use your fingers to apply it, using a brush helps to create a very smooth and even finish. Currently, I'm using EcoTools Skin Perfecting Brush and absolutely love it! The rounded edges of the brush are perfect for precise coverage especially around eyes and nose areas!

Next is the lipstick! Since I prefer natural-looking lip colors, I usually go for pinkish-nude shades. Now, despite the abundance of nude-colored lipsticks out there, the right one is not always easy to find. Nude lips are all about finding that perfect balance between your skin tone and the shade of the lipstick, too pale or too beige and you run the risk of looking completely washed out! Currently, I'm using new Burt's Bees lipstick in Blush Basin, which is a perfect tone of beige with just a touch of pink so that your lips look very soft yet not at all washed out. What I like about this lipstick in particular is how hydrating and moisturizing it is ( it actually keeps your lips hydrated for up to 8 hours ), and the 14 satin-finished shades are absolutely amazing!

Normally, I apply lipstick with EcoTools Detailed Lip Liner to get that precise definition, but you can certainly use it straight out of the tube. I also like adding just a touch of lighter shade of beige ( currently I'm using  Burt's Bees lipstick in Nile Nude ) to the center of my lower and upper lip to create a fuller-looking pout. I also like using lipstick as a blush. I find that satin-finished, pinky nude lipsticks are a great substitute for a blush because they create such a soft look. I simply apply a bit of lipstick to my fingers, rub them together to warm the product and tap my fingers along the apples of my cheeks. And voila! Perfect cheek color that is both fresh and natural!

Last but not least is mascara and eye liner! You know me, I can't live without my cat-eye liner! I tried doing my eye make up differently many times but it just doesn't feel the same. Naturally, my eyes are very round and cat eye liner helps to elongate the shape. So for now, my liner and I remain inseparable:)

What about you guys, what's your everyday make up routine like?

FAVORITE SUMMER SANDAL STYLES

Good morning, Everyone! I hope you week is going great! I am very excited to partner with Marc Fisher LTD yet again to talk a little bit about my favorite shoe trends coming in for SS16. Though there are certainly more than a few amazing shoe trends coming in for this Summer, one of my personal favorites is definitely the blocked heel trend. Why do I love the blocked heel so much? Well, aside from the fact that I have a soft spot for heels in general, I think a blocked heel is a great combination of beauty and function. Comfortable and stylish, to me, it's a perfect style to pair with your casual looks.

Those of you who happen to love heels as much as I do, can probably agree that heels add much more than just aesthetic value to an outfit. In reality, they change proportions and help to elongate your silhouette. But as much as I love high heels, I feel that they always add a touch of dressiness to the look and some outfits just work better with a more casual option. You could of course opt to wear flats, but if you are a heels kinda girl like me, than a blocked heel is the answer.

Take today's look for example. Though I certainly could have paired this suede mini and a slightly oversized lace-up blouse with a pair of high heels, going with something a bit more casual, like these Fawn gladiator sandals, gives this outfit a much more easy-going, nonchalant appeal. But because these sandals have a blocked heel, they add a bit of lift and help to elevate this look from super simple to polished and sophisticated.

What about you guys, how do you feel about blocked heel trend?

FEW FESTIVAL DRESSING IDEAS

$

Wow, time really does fly! Doesn't it? It feels like only yesterday I was getting ready for fashion week in February, and now 2 months have flown by and we are basically a week away from the Festival Season! YAY! Now, if you read my blog on the regular, you know that I'm a bit obsessed with Festival Season! Aside from the fact that it takes place in Palm Springs (think gorgeous weather, stunning views and super relaxed vibe) getting Festival-ready is definitely one of my favorite things ever!

Usually, when I start getting ready, I like to pack my necessities first! Through trial and error, and trust me, there were quite a few errors, I've come up with a list of 3 absolute must-haves I always bring with me. First and foremost are sunnies! Desert sun is not a joke, and in the past I've made a mistake of going without them, which made seeing my favorite bands perform not an easy task indeed:) So, from now on, a variety of cute shades is the first thing I pack. Next is sunblock of course! Now, I used to tell myself I never burn, and generally speaking it's true. But like I said, desert sun is really unlike anything else, so if you don't want to spend a few days dealing with a bad sunburn, sunblock is a must! Last but certainly not least is chapstick. I know, sounds kinda crazy, but because desert air is so dry and the sun is so strong, my lips get dry like there is no tomorrow, so I always carry a few chapsticks with me.

As far as planning my Festival outfits, comfort is definitely something that is very important to me. Well, I suppose shoes would be the only exception! Guess I love heels too much to trade them in for flats, even if flats are a more comfortable option:) We all have our vices, I suppose! :) Knowing that I'm gonna be spending all day in the sun, I usually go for very breezy, flowy, slightly bohemian pieces. Though in the past, I've opted to wear a lot of bright colors, this year, I'm more attracted to a slightly calmer color palette, especially creams, whites and various shades of brown. But what hasn't changed, is the way I feel about details and embroidery and lace seem to be the obsession du jour.

Take the first look from today's post for example. I opted to pair a cute suede mini with a breezy lace-embellished off-the-shoulder blouse, gladiator heels and loads of layered bracelets. To complete this look, I went with a pair of tortoise sunnies. Aside from the fact that I love pairing suede and tortoise because they look so insanely chic together, I like adding even a bit of print or texture whenever I pair solid colors together. What I love about these particular shades is the fact that not only are they absolutely gorgeous but they are also extremely practical! As I mentioned before, when it comes to dressing for the Festival, sunnies are definitely not just an accessory but really more of a necessity. You always want to make sure the the shades are dark enough to actually protect your eyes from the sun, and I also recommend going for a slightly oversized shape so that your entire eye area is covered. These happen to be a combination of all those things, so naturally I'm obsessed!

The second look is really an homage to my current obsession with all things embroidered! I love how striking yet delicate this floral embroidery is, and of course the combination of white, red and black is just stunning! Though I certainly could have gone with a pair of black shades to complete this look, I wanted to go with something a bit different so that it doesn't come across as too matchy matchy, so I opted to wear my all-time favorite shape, i.e. oversized retro cat-eye sunnies in a beautiful shade of brown. Once again, what I absolutely love about these is the fact that they are a perfect combination of style and functionality. Large and dark enough to keep my eyes protected, yet striking enough to add a perfect finishing touch to any look.

SUNNY SANTA BARBARA

I don't really know what's going on with the weather in LA lately, but it's been kinda meh for the past few days! Rainy and cold, but most of all, dark and gloomy... After sulking for a few days, Emil and I decided to chase away the blues by spending a few days in sunny Santa Barbara doing a bit of everything from wine tasting and dining to revisiting a few of our favorite places like Solvang and Buellton to name a few.

Though we've gone wine tasting in California a few times, and Napa is certainly one of our favorite places, when you're looking for a quick getaway, Santa Barbara is definitely the place to go. About an hour and a half away from LA, Santa Barbara wineries are charming, the wine is delicious and dining is fantastic! So, basically best, best in all possible ways:)!

One of our favorite wineries in Santa Barbara is Sunstone. A big Rose fan, their 14's ROSE is absolutely delicious, so if you ever go, I highly recommend trying it! Aside from their wine selection, I think what we love about Sunstone the most, is how beautiful the grounds are and how relaxed the atmosphere is! A great place to have an outdoor picnic, whenever we go, we make sure to bring a basket of goodies with us! Normally, I prefer Parmesan above all other cheeses, but Emil and I just discovered the creamiest brie, which tastes amazing paired with apricot marmalade, toasted crackers and a glass of white wine or sparkling rose! In fact, it tastes so amazing, we are down right addicted at the moment!:)

Since I can't pack light to save my life, I brought two suitcases full of clothing with me ( Hey, you never know what you might feel like wearing, right? Sometimes it's a dress kinda day and sometimes, it is most definitely not ) but ended up practically living in the outfit I'm wearing in today's post. First, and I am not afraid to say it, I am obsessed with high-waistedshorts! Incredibly comfortable and uber flattering, I love the way they elongate the silhouette and accentuate the waist! Second, bodysuits are the greatest thing that happened to fitted tops ever! What I love about the one I'm wearing today from Express, is the lace up detailing! Well, obviously, since I love details so much! Though to be completely honest with you, I am pretty obsessed with bodysuits at the moment in general and keep being them obsessively in every color imaginable! So, I hope you don't mind seeing quite a bit of them this summer!:)

The hunt for this dress began over a month ago when I spotted it on H&M billboard on Sunset Boulevard. The combination of blue, red and black - gorgeous! Oh, and don't get me started on the beautiful embroidery and cute tassels... Basically, it was everything you could hope for in a dress and more:) Tiny little snag, it was sold out everywhere!

Just as I was about the give up on my search, I found myself at an H&M store and there it was, just waiting for me:) To say that it was a good shopping day, is to say nothing at all! I don't know about you guys, but for me, nothing compares to the joy of finally finding something I've been looking for for a long time!

Now, we are basically inseparable! I've been wearing it everyday and with everything! So, I suppose I have to warn you, there is a really good chance you'll be seeing quite a bit of it this summer, so I hope you don't mind! :)

I said it before and I'll say it again, I have never met an off-the-shoulder anything I did not like! The dress I'm sporting in today's post, is the latest addition to my ever expanding "cold-shoulder" wardrobe. Aside from the fact that I have nothing but respect for pieces that translate from day to night, which this one certainly does ( think platform heels and a clutch for night, and cute flats and a cross-body for day ), what I love about this particular off-the-shoulder number is the slight nautical influence, the easiness of the silhouette and complete and total twirl-worthiness! Btw, twirl I did, and perhaps a little too much! But then again, can you really twirl too much when you're wearing a dress that was practically made for that! I think maybe not! :)

As I have mentioned before, I am more than a little obsessed with blocked heels at the moment, and these Pearl City sandals from Marc Fisher LTD are definitely my favorite pair right now! Love the combination of bold straps, blocked heel and silver hardware! I also love the way these sandals add a bit of a polished edge to some of my girlier looks and today's outfit is a perfect example of that. Though I definitely love very soft, feminine pieces, I prefer to pair them with something a little more polished and sophisticated to keep them from looking too girly. So, to help balance this uber feminine floral ensemble, I opted to go with a trendier, edgier blocked heel, a simple linen trench and oversized sunnies.

If you read my blog on the regular, you probably know that when it comes to everyday make up, low key is what I normally opt for! Well, with the exception of cat eye liner that is, but you know I can't live without it! :) Recently, I talked about some of my everyday make-up favorites from Burt's Bees like their new lipstick and BB Cream, but I've discovered a new favorite going-out lipstick color since, so I though I'd take this opportunity to mention it!

Coral! Seriously one of the best and most flattering colors ever! Aside from the fact that it works well on every skin tone, I find that it helps to liven the face but isn't quite as dramatic as red for example, so if you're not ready for a very bright lip, I seriously suggest you try it!

As far as going-out make up is concerned, I still prefer clean, somewhat low key look, yet what differs from my everyday make up, is that I definitely like to create one bright accent. Currently, it's all about lip color for me and Sunset Cruise from Burt's Bees seems to be obsession du jour! The way I like to wear this pretty shade is by keeping the rest of the face pretty neutral. For today's look, I went with Burt's Bees BB Cream in Medium, which I applied all over the face. This BB Cream is definitely a favorite at the moment because it offers such a lightweight coverage and creates a very natural looking finish. Since I wanted to keep all the focus on the lip color, I skipped using a blush and instead applied a bit of bronzer around my cheeks and forehead area. Though I normally use lip balms or chapsticks under lip colors, I find that Burt's Bees lipsticks are super moisturizing ( in fact they keep your lips hydrated for up to 8 hours ) so I skipped it entirely! Finishing touch, a bit of highlighter on cupid's bow and inner eye corners to liven the face up a bit! And voila! All done in under fine minutes! Love that!

FESTIVAL STYLE RECAP

I love festival season! The parties, the music, the vibe and the style, I love it all! Now that Weekend One is over, which I seriously have a hard time believing because it feels like it came and went in a split second, I wanted to share a few images of some of my favorite moments, outfits and also talk a little bit about what inspires my festival style.

When I think about quintessential festival style, jewelry is first thing that comes to mind. Though I am certainly a big fan of layering jewelry in general, when it comes to festival style, I can't imagine styling an outfit without adding lots and lots of layered bracelets, rings, necklaces and even earrings. By the way, layered and mismatched earrings are my newest obsession! Currently, I love playing with different shapes, sizes and colors! For example, I like wearing a classic stud in one ear and something a little more dramatic, like a drop or dangle earring in the other! Earrings are such a classic piece of jewelry and combining different shapes, sizes, textures and colors is such a fun way to add a modern twist and a playful touch to your look!

For this festival season, I've partnered with PANDORA, one of my favorite jewelry brands ever, to style a few favorite pieces from their festival collection inspired by Coachella. Though I love every piece in general because it features such delicate, beautiful pieces in some of my favorite colors ( like rose for example ), the one piece that caught my attention right away was the double leather bracelet. What I like about this particular piece, other than its versatility ( it can be worn as a choker necklace as well ), is the fact that the cool combination of leather and sterling silver creates a perfect finishing touch for any festival look. This weekend, I've worn it in multiple ways, layered with classic PANDORA sterling silver bracelets and charms, as a necklace and even on its own, for a slightly more casual approach, and it never failed to make every outfit a little more special:) Another PANDORA obsession du jour, are the Feather earrings! So cool on their own, since I have multiple piercing in my ear, I love combining them with little studs to create a layered effect. I mean, you know me, when it comes to jewelry, the more the merrier is my motto! :) What about you guys, what inspires your festival style?

P.S. Check out the PANDORA Jewelry tent, if you're heading to Coachella next weekend!
