If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I partnered with
TRESemmé to attend Miami Swim Week this year. As part of this collaboration, not only did I get my hair styled everyday (stay tuned for next week's post where I'll do a step-by-step instruction on how to recreate these looks), but also attended 2016 collection presentations, got to go backstage and watch TRESemmé stylists create amazing hairstyles and talk to them about their favorite hair tips, tricks and of course products!
The first of my favorites this year was MIKOH's 2016 collection "ALOHA". Inspired byHawaiian beach culture of the 1970s, the collection was strong, sexy and playful. It included swimwear, ready-to-wear and the coolest neoprene surf suits ever, which were my personal favorite and from this point on, the number one item on my must-have list! Another favorite from this presentation was the hair! As far as the most coveted hairstyles go, for me, beautiful beachy waves are pretty much it! Easy and relaxed, I think that this particular hairstyle captures the spirit of summer in the most perfect way! After talking to TRESemmé stylist Tyler Laswell, who led the MIKOH show, I got the complete breakdown on how to achieve this look straight from home:
2. Next, blowdry your hair straight.
3. Curl your hair using a large-barrel curling iron, making sure to curl away from your face.
Another favorite was of course out-of-this-world amazing Mara Hoffman 2016 collection presentation held at Casa Casuarina, aka The Versace Mansion. Honestly, it is hard to imagine a more perfect setting for a Morocco-inspired collection, than the Versace Mansion. The mosaic pool lined with gold, palm trees, berber rugs and silk pillows had a mystic, almost fairy-tale like appeal and served as a perfect backdrop for a collection featuring bold prints, graphic black and white patters and loads of embellishment. To compliment the collection, the model's hair was styled in voluminous textured waves, a look, I immediately wanted to recreate:)! Luckily, I got the details on how to create this look and here is what you'll need to do:
2. Diffuse hair with a blow dryer to bring out hair's natural texture while creating volume.
3. Starting at the nape of the neck, take small sections of the hair and curl them with a 1/4 barrel curling iron.
4. After curling each section, open up the curl and continue the process until the entirehead is curled and fluffed.
