TED BAKER Nelum maxi dress,

Though normally, my motto for weekend dressing is comfy and simple, I must admit, every once in while I really enjoy trading in my weekend uniform for something a bit more glamorous, getting my hair and make up done and spending an evening somewhere fabulous... Luckily, last Saturday was exactly such an occasion. One of my good friends got married and since the ceremony was really formal, I got to dress up and wear what is probably my favorite dress of all time.

I found it on a recent trip to Ted Baker, and snatched it up as  quickly as humanly possible. The funny thing is that I don't wear print all that much. You know me, I am very comfortable in my solid brights or black and white. Yet, every once in a while, when I come across a printed gown as gorgeous as the one I am wearing in today's post, I kick myself for not wearing print more often.

But of course not all prints are created equal. What I love about this one is how delicate, elegant and feminine it is. Oh, and that stark contrast between vibrant red and soft pink is just out-of-this-world beautiful. Honestly, when I came a cross a dress like this, I find myself wishing I could dress up  everyday... Ah, wouldn't that be fun! Are you guys with me on this one? :)

CHLOE Mini Drew shoulder bag

For a little over 2 years now, all Emil and I talk about is moving. We want to stay in LA, but we've lived in the same apartment for the past 7 years and we are definitely ready for a change. The tiny little problem with moving is that we can't seem to agree on where we'd like to move to:) My dream is to be close to the beach, and Emil, the practical one in the family, wants to stay in the city, which makes total sense work wise yet ins't nearly as romantic as waking up to the sound of the ocean every morning. So, after 2 years of going back and forth, we've decided to explore all of our favorite LA neighborhoods in hopes of finding a happy medium. This past Tuesday, we had a bit of free time, so we went exploring around West Hollywood, and I have to stay that at this point it's becoming a really serious contender. We found a particularly pretty street that looked like it came straight out of a fairy tale and for the very first time both Emil and I agreed that we could really see ourselves living here. Though we haven't made any final decisions yet, we are definitely making progress! Of course now that we found a neighborhood that we both agree on, it's just a matter of finding an apartment we both like... Hopefully it will take a little less than 2 years:)

FREE PEOPLE Midsummer dream dress

Yet another gorgeous twirl-worthy find from Free People. I basically feel in love with this dress the moment I saw it! You know how much I love bright colors, pockets and interesting details:) A perfect little summer dress, what I also like about it is how versatile it is! Yes, yes, there I go talking about versatility again:) But you know, it's important for me to be able to wear something in multiple ways and this dress actually moonlights as a cute top if paired with say a pair of skinny jeans and platform espadrilles...

PETER PILOTTO MK printed textured cotton blend skirt

I've spent the past few weeks indulging my inner shoeaholic looking for perfect heels to update my Summer shoe wardrobe and as soon as I spotted the gorgeous strappy pair from M.Gemi I am wearing in today's post, I knew it was a match made in shoe heaven!

Firstly, I love bright Summer sandals! I especially love to pair them with black, white or even both! Aside from the fact that adding a pop of color to a black and white outfit adds a dramatic focal point, it really elevates the whole look to another level.

Secondly, the combination of the sexy silhouette, buttery leather and sporty elastic straps is pure genius because it makes these sandals much more versatile. Obviously they go perfectly with dressy or tailored pieces, but I can also see them paired with skinny or boyfriend jeans and a simple tee all thanks to those slightly sporty straps.

Lastly, let's be honest, a comfortable pair of high heels is really hard to find. Though, I have to admit, I've sacrificed comfort for beauty in the past, it feels pretty good to find a pair of heels I can actually walk in. And I can tell you in all honesty, these babies are pretty darn comfortable! I've worn them all day long and at the end of the day my feet were still intact ( no blisters or blue toes like usual ).

I can probably go on and on listing all the reasons why I love these so much, like the fact that they are handcrafted in Italy and the quality for the price is amazing, but I'm afraid I would run out of space on this blog:) You know me, I get very excited about shoes and these ones are definitely my new obsession:)! In fact, I am actually considering getting them in black as well:)

By the way,  M.Gemi releases new styles every single Monday and each style is made in limited quantities. So, if you are as obsessed with shoes as I am, check out their full collection here, especially The Novella,  another one of my favorites at the moment!

Wearing what is yet another one of those happy dresses I love so much! Fun color and cut, combined together to make one gorgeous dress! Oh, and you know how I feel about dresses that move... Naturally, whenever I put it on, twirling around is pretty much a guarantee! :)

RAG & BONE The Skinny jeans

Back in my favorite weekend uniform, i.e. a pair of distressed jeans, oversized shirt and fun heels. Funny, but of all the things I wear, this particular combination is the one I feel most comfortable in. And sure, high heels are not exactly synonymous with comfort, but you know me, I am not flats kind of a gal. In fact, I've gotten so used to wearing heels anything below 3 inches is comfortable and therefore qualifies as weekend wear... Though for pumps as gorgeous as the ones from Paul Andrew I am wearing in today's post, I gladly break the 3 inch rule:)

EXPRESS printed chiffon trapeze dress

As you can see, I remain fully committed to wearing every fun and flirty frock imaginable :) This particular printed wonder from EXPRESS is my current favorite thanks to the totally twirl-worthy  silhouette and colorful print! Basically, it's a perfect little summer mini dress. I especially love the fact that you can dress it up with a pair of heels like I did in today's post since I was going out for drinks with my girls or down, with a pair of cute flats and a roomy tote. But of course those are just a few examples, really the possibilities are endless... The other day I had it on with a leather jacket and slouchy boots and absolutely loved the way it looked!

Have a feeling it's going to be one of those pieces you're going to be seeing again and again! You know how I get when I find something I really like:) Hope you don't mind...

H&M jumpsuit

This pretty terracotta-colored jumpsuit takes comfort to a whole new level! If I could spend the rest of summer wearing just the one thing, this would be it! Aside from comfort, color and overall fit, what I love about this one is the fact that it virtually doesn't wrinkle. Sure it sounds a bit mundane, I mean who cares about a few wrinkles, and yet... I do:) There were so many times I got into my car in the morning, looking completely presentable, and arrived to an important meeting looking like a wrinkled mess! But in this jumpsuit I can sit, slouch or even twist myself into a pretzel if I wanted to without being afraid of those pesky little wrinkles! And in my book, that is always a good thing:)!

ALL SAINTS Hace trench coat

I've been practically living in this trench coat lately trying to stay warm in LA's cooler temperatures. Honestly, I don't know what it is lately, but the weather just can't seem to make up it's mind. Hot and sunny one day, doom and gloom the next. Normally, I would just reach for a sweater or a leather jacket when it gets like this, but lately, I've become a huge fan of a trench coat, for it's definitely a cozier, and in many ways warmer option.

Love this particular one I found at All Saints because of the slightly slouchier, softer silhouette. You know how much I love versatility, and this one works with just about anything from dresses, to jeans and denim cutoffs. I've even warn it for cocktails the other day pairing it with a fitted pencil skirt and a pair of heels and loved the way it looked! And when you find something that works day and night and looks good with essentially everything in your closet, you know it's a keeper:)

BANANA REPUBLIC Monogram poplin shirtdress

I've always been a fan of shirtdresses. There is a certain kind of ease and nonchalant coolness about them. Comfortable and stylish, to me, shirts dresses are a must-have Summer staple to wear day or night. Found this particular one on a recent trip to Banana Republic and fell in love with it the moment I saw it! Aside from the fact that I cannot resist a dress with pockets no matter how hard I try, this one has quite a bit of those special details I always look for. I mean how cute are those ruffle sleeves with tie details! I also love the unexpected color! Most shirtdresses I came across are white. Now, don't get me wrong, I love white dresses but in this particular case, I feel black makes this dress just a tad cooler and edgier, and possibly more appropriate for night:) What do you guys think?

VivaLuxury Mejuri Jewelry Collection, Mejuri hite Velvet Collection, The Girl With A pearl
They say every great dream begins with a dreamer... Those of you who've been with me from the very beginning, probably know that aside from starting VivaLuxury, my greatest dream in life was to design a jewelry collection. Well, I can hardly believe it but my dream has come true and it is with great joy I am excited to unveil my Capsule Collection for Mejuri jewelry.

My relationship with Mejuri began over year ago with a short little email. Of course, at that time I couldn't possibly imagine what a profound effect an email could have on my life. At that time, all I knew was that I felt an immediate connection to Mejuri jewelry and the company esthetic in general. Over time, as our relationship progressed, we've come to realize that not only was our esthetic incredibly similar, we also shared a passion for jewelry and design and so, we began thinking about collaborating in a more profound way and a capsule collection just felt like a great pace to start.

When I began thinking about what I wanted this collection to be, I realized that for me, design is incredibly personal. And so, I felt it was very important to create a collection that truly reflected my personality, style and esthetic. In the end, the idea that inspired this collection the most, was a certain duality that is inherent in my personal style. On one hand, I love elegance and femininity, on the other, I am equally attracted to sharp, clean and slightly edgy silhouettes. To capture these seemingly opposite aspects of my sartorial personality, I decided to combine classically elegant pearls with modern, edgy, geometric settings. Something else that was incredibly important to me when it came to this collection was quality. Both Mejuri and I believe in the importance of combining unique and creative deigns with lasting materials, which is why all of the pieces in this collection are made from precious materials like vermeil on sterling silver, fresh water cultured pearls and cubic zirconia stones.

We spent the next few months working closely together to design a unique and creative collection, the hardest part of which was not being able to share every little detail with you guys:) The end result was a collection of 7 pieces designed to be worn layered or separately, day or night.

The experience of working with Mejuri on this collection was absolutely incredible and the feeling of seeing your ides come to life just indescribable! Honestly, I still have to pinch myself overtime I look at the collection because I am so happy with the way it turned out. My only hope is that you guys love it as much as I do... :)

MSGM boucle flared skirt
Good morning, Everyone! I hope you're all enjoying your week so far! I am so excited to partner with Ferragamo yet again ( if you read my blog on regular basis, you may remember our collaboration from last year ) to style a pair of sunglasses from their SS 2015 collection. Though it was definitely not an easy choice to make, for there are so many wonderful colors to choose from, I went with a pair of oversized round frames in the most beautiful shade of red. Aside from the fact that red happens to be one of my favorite colors, I love the striking look red creates, paired with my beloved white and black palette! And sure, I've ventured into color a bit lately, yet I still find myself gravitating towards a more monochromatic and calmer color palette, which works so well when you add a single bright accessory, such as a pair of red shades, for example:)

For today's look, I chose to pair my new Ferragamo sunglasses with a classic, black, white and red color combination, adding a bag in a similar shade to make red the focal point of this look. Yet, I recently wore them with an all white ensemble as well as a slightly nautical inspired navy-heavy outfit and absolutely loved they way they completed each look. I suppose what I am trying to say here  is that I found yet another one of those versatile accessories I always look for, so I hope you don't mind seeing quite a bit of them on this blog in the future:)

MARNI Contrast Diamond wool & cotton crepe dress

I think I mentioned it before, but I love the time of the year when Jacaranda trees start to bloom across Los Angeles. There is something absolutely magical about taking a stroll under the canopy of these beautiful trees... I also think that I've come to associate blooming jacarandas with the beginning of summer, and of course you all know how much I love summer :) Naturally, since Jacarandas bloom only for a short period of time, I just cannot resist an opportunity to walk on the streets lined with these beautiful trees! Oh, and take as many pictures as possible... :) Of course!

There are very few places that make me feel the way I do in Palm Springs. I don't know what it is, the sun, the endless dips in the pool or the cooling drinks with little umbrellas in them, but honestly, Palm Springs is the place where I feel completely relaxed and at peace... Since Emil and I share this obsession, we like to get away to Palm Springs every chance we get and spend a few days in nothing other than our swim suits, soaking up the sun and working on our tans:)

Though we've stayed at a few different places in Palm Springs, Viceroy, sorry Avalon ( still can't get used to the name change ) is our absolute favorite. Aside from the beautiful property, I think what we like the most about Avalon is the pool area, and since that's where we spend the majority of our time, it's important:) The salt water pool, cute sunny yellow umbrellas and comfy loungers, which incidentally match my new bikini perfectly, and lots and lots of pretty greenery around, I mean what else can a person ask for? :)

Talking about my new bikini, I've been looking for a reversible suit for some time now, and this pretty sunny-yellow number from Via Delle Perle immediately caught my eye. I love yellow bikinis, I think they are classic and look so great on tan skin. But what I like about this particular one is the fact that it reverses to a pretty floral print, so you basically get two swimsuits in one:) I also got a matching Via Delle Perle coverup jacket complete with a hood, sheer sleeves and pockets, basically all those little details I appreciate so much! Wise decision on getting that jacket, by the way! Cause we get so lazy in Palm Springs I don't even bother changing for dinner, normally I throw something over my bikini and off we go and this coverup jacket paired with denim shorts looked super cute!

What about you guys, what are your favorite vacation spots?

Good morning and happy Friday, Everyone! I just wanted to say a quick hello and share a few images from last Wednesday. As you can see, I've been reunited with my favorite partner in crime, Sydne from SydneStyle:) We've been so busy lately, we haven't really had a chance to catch up in a while, so this lunch was well overdue! Anyway, we ended up going to this cute little place in Studio City, which is definitely among my favorite restaurants as of lately! I don't know what it is, but I've developed a massive obsession with salads and soups and they offer an abundance of options in both! Seriously, if you love salads, you have to try their Chinese Chicken Salad, it is seriously one of the best I've ever tried!

On that note, what are your favorite restaurants in LA?

Good morning, Everyone! Hope you're enjoying your weekend! I just wanted to share a few images of my latest obsession, i.e. Celine platform espadrilles! I've been eyeing them for some time now and when I tried them on at Barney's last week on a particularly cold and gloomy day, I figured these were the best gloomy-day cure I could find:)! Aside of course from the bright orange color, I love the comfy platform. You know me, I definitely prefer heels over flats and this platform is seriously the best option if you want to be comfortable but still get a bit of a lift!

It's not really a secret that I have a soft spot for dresses, but cute little white dresses are definitely a particular weakness of mine. Oh, and if a cute little white dress happens to have pockets and lattice-effect panel on the front, I simply cannot resist:) I picked up this cute IRO number from Net-a-Porter a few weeks ago and we've been inseparable ever since. Love that I can dress it up with a pair of heels and a clutch or down with cross-body bag and flats or in this case, wedges. Basically, a perfect little summer dress for any occasion! Of all the SS15 trends, I think 70s-inspired looks are my favorite by far! I am literally obsessed with everything about this trend from high-waisted flare jeans and platforms, to round oversized aviators and suede fringe:)

My favorite way of wearing this trend is to take key 70s-inspired pieces and add a few modern touches and tweaks. Take today's look for example, to make this outfit a bit more modern, I paired my EXPRESS  flare jeans with a cute tie front blouse. Yet instead of going for 70s-inspired accessories, I kept this look clean and polished by adding a black leather bag and strappy heels. Of course, I couldn't resist adding a pair of oversized round sunglasses to the mix, but I honestly feel they enhance this look since the rest of my accessories are so clean and simple.

What about you guys? How do you feel about the 70s inspired trend? How do you wear it?

SUNDAY SKIN PREP :: BEAUTY READY ROUTINE

VivaLuxury skincare, Annabelle Fleur skincare

Those of you who read my blog on regular basis probably know how important skin care is to me. Though I haven't always been as diligent about taking care of my skin as I am now, once I realized the connection between proper skin care and the state of my skin, I've been religiously giving it the attention it needs. In the past, I've talked about my day-to-day skin-care but I haven't really talked about my weekly skin recovery routine. And so, I would like to take this opportunity to talk a little bit about my Sunday beauty ready routine and about how I prepare my skin and hair for the week ahead.

Since I color my hair, it tends to be a bit dry, so in order to keep it shiny and healthy I start by applying a home-made oil mask all over my hair, paying special attention to the scalp. To make the mask, I simply mix castor oil and extra-virgin olive oil in equal parts, adding just a few drops of lavender oil for a wonderful scent. Next, I cover my hair with a plastic cap and wrap a warm towel over it for better absorption.

PHASE ONE: While I wait for the oil mask to work it's magic on my hair, I move on to phase one of my skin care routine, i.e. Skin Inc. Pure Revival Peel. The reason why I like this particular one is because it's very gentle and doesn't make my skin red, tight or dry but instead effectively removes dead skin and helps to prepare my skin for phase two and three of my routine. To use, I simply apply a thin layer of Pure Revival Peel to clean, dry skin, leave on for a few seconds, then massage gently in circular motion paying special attention to my t-zone.

PHASE TWO: I always had really sensitive skin which is prone to redness and irritation. So, of course I was looking for a product to help address these concerns, but I also wanted something that could prevent damage and signs of aging. The reason why I started using Skin Inc. My Daily Dose products is because they are uniquely customized to address the specific needs of my skin and also because I am able to address multiple issues with a single application. Currently, I am using the three following SERUMS:

- REPAIR, which contains antioxidant-rich French pine bark to help protect the skin from damage and signs of aging caused by UV rays
- REINFORCE which helps to strengthen, hydrate and sooth sensitive skin
- RELIEVE which contains a combination of antioxidants, licorice and green tea extracts to help calm, reduce redness and irritation and protect the skin from UV damage.

To use, I simply blend all three serums and apply 2-3 drops all over my face. Since I started using My Daily Dose, I've noticed a really big difference as far as dryness and redness is concerned and my skin is definitely more even looking and feels so much softer to the touch.

Skin Inc serum

PHASE THREE: Moisture is the key to beautiful skin! Though I am pretty good about drinking plenty of water and eating well, ever since I moved to California I find that my skin needs a bit of help staying moisturized. I've tried a few different products, but Skin Inc. Pure Deepsea Hydrating Mask is the one that works best for me. Aside from the fact that it keeps my skin hydrated, I also find that it helps to clarify and brighten it as well. A huge plus in my opinion, because more than a few hydrating products simply made me break out:( To use, I apply a thin layer of the product all over my face, right after applying My Daily Dose serums including under eye area to help seal in all the goodness and hydrate, and leave it on overnight.

Skin Inc. Pure Deepsea Hydrating Mask

Skin Inc. Pure Deepsea Hydrating Mask, VivaLuxury mask, Annabelle Fleur mask

Next, I like to use a trick my mom swears by, which is taking a hot bath to make my hair and face mask absorb even better. Reason why this trick works so well, is because the steam from the bath helps to open your hair follicles and pores for better moisture absorption. Because multitasking is basically my middle name, I also add two cups of epsom salts to the water to help soften my hands, feet and everything in between:) I usually soak for about 30 minutes, but if you are pressed for time, even 15 minutes makes a world of difference.

Lastly, depending on how dry my hair is I either wash off the hair mask with a gentle shampoo and let my hair air dry or live it on overnight. I also slather olive oil all over my body paying special attention to hands and feet, since they tend to need a bit of extra moisture.

Hope you guys enjoy these tips and as always, if you have any questions, please email me any time I'll be happy to answer!
