OXFORD OBSESSED :: BEST STYLES TO WEAR THIS FALL

BLUE JEAN BABY
Good morning and happy almost weekend, Everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful week!
I just wanted to say a quick hello and share a few images of my new favorite sweater. Aside from the fact that I love a good knit for Fall in general, this one just happens to be one of those perfectly oversized, cozy-as-a blanked perfections of a sweater in the most wonderful shade of soft pink. Since the weather finally cooled down a bit in LA this past week, I've been pretty much wearing it non stop, dressing it up or down depending on occasion. Today's look is super relaxed and casual, but I've worn it with more tailored pieces like slim-cut slacks and midi coats and it worked just as well. In fact, I have a more tailored look ft this sweater coming up soon, so let me know which way of wearing is your favorite!

ASYMMETRY
Good morning, Everyone! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend!
Wanted to share yet another outfit comprised entirely of my current favorites. You've seen most of the items I'm wearing in today's post before, some more than others:) Sorry, I am so obsessed with this bag and boots, I am having a pretty difficult time wearing anything else! But the dress is brand new, yet already well on its way to becoming an all time favorite.
Generally speaking, I am not a huge fan of body-hugging dresses. Fit-and-flare? Definitely! A-line? Count me in! But bodycon dresses seldom make their way into my wardrobe. Yet, thanks to this asymmetric number I've got a new appreciation for this particular shape. Pretty versatile, you can wear them with a leather jacket for an edgier look, or layer with an oversized knit or soft trench and sneakers for a cute day time look, in reality, the possibilities of wearing bodycon dresses are pretty limitless.
Aside from the fabric and color, what attracted me to the dress I'm wearing in today's post is of course the hemline. I think the over-exaggerated asymmetrical hemline makes this dress a great combination of sexy and edgy and creates a really strong visual impact.
What about you guys, how do you feel about body con dresses?

IN THE MOOD TO CELEBRATE...
Good morning, Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Well, it's here! The Holiday Party season has officially began! Kinda sneaks up on you, doesn't it! At least it did for me and Emil when we received our invite to a Holiday bash thrown by one of our best friends this weekend.
Personally, I love the Winter Holidays! There is something absolutely magical in the air, somehow everyone seems just a little happier, the lights shine brighter, music fills the air and I feel as if I am walking on air most of the time. Oh, and the Holiday parties! Honestly, the parties have got to be the best part of this magical season! I guess I am a big kid at heart, but nothing puts me in the mood to celebrate quite like Christmas trees and music, mistletoes and those striped candy canes:)
Of course, as I mentioned before, the Holiday Season tends to sneak up on me, party invites arrive last minute, which usually results in sheer panic about what to wear. Usually, but not this year! Kind of proud moment for me:) This year, I decided to stock up on a few Holiday Party must-haves well in advance.
Speaking of Holiday Party must-haves, if I had to name my top 5, a little black dress would be at the top of this list. Classic and timeless, a little black dress never goes out of style, but rather transforms according to current trends to feel fresh and new again. The sexy midi dress from Express I am wearing in today's post is one of my current favorites. I love the neckline and especially the fact that I can wear it off or on the shoulder. I also really like the midi length, which in my opinion gives this dress a much more sophisticated and polished vibe. Another positive aspect of the midi length is the fact that it makes this dress mush more versatile. I can wear it to a day time event paired with a sleek leather jacket and booties or dress it up with strappy heels and a cute clutch for night. And I don't know about you guys, but I definitely appreciate getting the most out of my Holiday staples:)
What about you guys, what's on your Holiday must-have list?

ON THIN ICE
Good morning, Everyone! How is your week going so far? Guess ice skating is really not unlike riding a bike, once you learn how you never really forget:) I used to go ice skating quite a bit in Toronto, but after moving to California, I haven't gone as much. I can't really explain why because I honestly enjoy skating tremendously! Yet, on countless occasions Emil and I made plans to stop by a skating ring and never followed through.
Well, that all changed on Monday! We finally went and actually skated! Though, I suppose I should say, Emil skated and I tried to keep up with him:) He used to play hockey, so skating is like second nature to him. So once we got on the ice, he looked like he never took a break, while I desperately worked on keeping an upright position:) Yet, I have to say, I was pretty surprised how quickly I stared feeling comfortable on the ice again. I mean, I definitely will not be joining a Figure skating team anytime soon, but at least I didn't fall... much! :)

BRILLIANT BLUE
Good morning, Everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I just wanted to say a quick hello and share a few images from a recent trip to Getty Center. A few of my girlfriends are visiting me from Toronto this week, so whenever they're in town, we make a point of exploring LA as much as possible. In the past, they always came to LA Summertime, so most of our activities ended up being beach-related:) So this time around, since Getty Center happens to be one of my favorite places, and I haven't had the chance to show them around yet, we decided to spend the day exploring the grounds. Though I love Getty any time a year, I honestly think the best time to come here is in the Fall. There is something so magical about the Fall foliage in contrast to the stark white architecture!
P. S. If you planning on visiting LA, I definitely recommend spending a day at the Getty Center! You won't be disappointed! I promise:)

JUST BLACK
Good morning, Everyone! How is your weekend going so far? Just wanted to say a quick hello and share a few images of my new favorite skirt:) You see, I've been on a hunt for a perfect lace trim skirt for ages now. In my mind, this elusive lace trim skirt was elegant and sophisticated, dressy yet a bit edgy, in other words, something I could dress up with a peplum blazer for night or dress down with a chunky knit for day. Sounds simple enough, right? I mean with the abundance of lace trim skirts out there, it should be easy to find just the right one! Well, apparently not:)
Most of the ones I came across where simply too dressy, or quite frankly, not dressy enough, and the lace trim was either very scarce (which fails to create the same impact in my opinion) or was of the cotton variety, which immediately evoked a slight boho vibe, basically not at all the dressy feel I was going for! After searching for what seems like ages, I finally came across this perfection from Nicholas and knew in an instant I found what I was looking for. Dressy and edgy, sophisticated and elegant, I already have a million outfits planed out featuring my new obsession! Not being dramatic here, at least a million, seriously! So, I hope you don't mind seeing quite a bit of it in the near future:)

THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR
Good morning, Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! As I have mentioned before, a few of my girlfriends are visiting me from Toronto this week. Unfortunately we don't get to see each other as much as we like, so every time they're in town, we really try to make the best of our time together! This year, we were really hoping to spend Christmas together, but as luck would have it, last minute travels put a bit of a damper on our plans. After a fair amount of sulking, I realized that just because we won't be celebrating Christmas together, there is absolutely no reason why we couldn't have a fabulous Holiday party anyway! A party involving some serious gifting of course, because let's face it, Holiday parties without gifts are not really parties at all:)
And so began the search for perfect presents:) Something special and meaningful, something I know my girls will absolutely love! Well, the answer was staring right back at me from my jewelry box. I mean, what girl doesn't love jewelry! And since my obsession with PANDORA is in full swing, I decided that braided leather bracelets and cute charms from the Holiday 2014 collection, would be just the perfect thing!
Aside from shopping for gifts, one of the things I enjoy the most about Holiday season is wrapping presents! Call me crazy, but I always thought the packing is just as important as what's inside:) When it comes to Holiday wrapping, I start by thinking about colors and textures. Not a huge fan of the matchy-matchy look, I like it when the color scheme tells a cohesive story, yet each individual present is wrapped in a different manner. This year, I chose a slightly rustic theme with just a touch of glamour. To achieve this look, I combined burlap ribbon, leaf garland and red jute cord with the most gorgeous cream and gold foil patterned paper. Finally, I added a few hang tags and paper snowflakes, secured by the cutest mini red clothespins. And voila! All done:) What do you guys think?

PAUL MITCHELL ULTIMATE COLOR REPAIR SYSTEM GIVEAWAY
Good morning, Everyone! Hope your week is going great so far! As you may remember, a little less than 3 months ago, I got a wonderful new cut and color thanks to the professionals at Paul Mitchell. To say that this change was well overdue would be an understatement! Dry, damaged, unruly hair is what I was left with after putting my mane through unimaginable abuse this Summer and trying to rectify this problem on my own didn't help matters either! Word of advice, henna and super dry hair don't mix well, unless of course you like sporting a heap of yellowish-reddish mess on your head:)
After getting my new cut and color, Lucie Doughty, Paul Mitchell's Editorial Director, suggested using Paul Mitchell Ultimate Color Repair System, which is designed to keep hair-color fresh for up to 9 weeks, reduce breakage and enhance shine. So far, I've been using it for a little less than 3 months and I can hardly believe the difference! Not only did my color stay fresh, I noticed my hair changed completely! It is definitely not the same dry monstrosity I had 3 months ago! Much healthier overall, it's soft and shiny and so much easier to style. Seriously! Right now it probably takes me a little less than 10 minutes to style my hair! I simply dry my hair with a paddle brush and curl a few strategic sections on top. And voila! All done!:)

I don't know about you guys, but personally, I am super happy flared jeans are making a come back. Aside of course from my beloved skinnies, the flare is one of my favorite denim silhouettes, mainly because I believe there is something incredibly chic, laid back yet polished about this particular style. I found the pair I'm wearing in today's post on a recent trip to EXPRESS and fell in love with the slimmer fit around the thighs and of course the super dark navy wash. As I mentioned oh so many times before, versatility is super important to me, and the dark navy wash works great with casual pieces and dressy ones. Take today's casual look for example, I wanted to create a very nonchalant denim-on-denim look, so I paired my flares with a bleached denim shirt and a fedora hat. Yet, I think they would have looked just as great worn with pointy-toe pumps and a fitted blazer. Don't you?

MARSALA MANIA
Good morning, Everyone! Hope your weekend is going great so far!
I wanted to say a quick hello a share a few of my recent obsessions in one of my favorite colors. You see, even before Marsala was announced as the official color of 2015, I've always had a soft spot for this rich red-brown. Warm, sophisticated and vibrant, Marsala pairs beautifully with a wide variety of colors, the combination with black and white being among my favorites! Though, lately I am also a bit partial to wearing it with navy or grey.
The ankle boots I'm wearing in today's post are a recent acquisition but have already become one of my favorite pairs. I can't really decide what I love about them the most... Is it the color or the thicker heel or maybe it's the asymmetrical leather-trimmed topline... Or, what is perhaps most likely, it's all of the above, combined together to create one stunning pair of boots.
The wool fedora hat I got from Express recently, is another one of my current favorites! I am having a bit of a hat moment lately, and by lately I mean for the past week or so:) You see, I got up one morning and was greeted by gray skies and pouring rain. As I was trying to decide whether to spray the entire bottle of hair spray on my head or just half to keep my curls looking somewhat presentable, a bright idea downed upon me! What if I were to skip hair spay entirely and wear a wide-brimmed hat instead! And so I did! Long story short, hair style remained in tact all day long despite spending considerable time outside in the pouring rain. And so, a hat obsession was born:)

COZY LAYERS
Good morning and happy Monday, Everyone! Did you have a good weekend? I am excited to share yet another post from my collaboration with Nordstrom Rack as part of their year-long campaign.
If you read my blog on a regular basis, you know just how coat-obsessed I am, and trench coats happen to be my particular weakness. The one I am wearing in today's post is one of the treasures I found on a recent trip to Nordstrom Rack. Technically speaking, I came in to do some early Christmas shopping because they always have the cutest printed scarfs, colorful hats and statement jewelry, but as usual, couldn't resist and picked up a few things for myself:) Guess you could say I got a few early Christmas presents for me as well! :)
Though lately, I've been gravitating towards cooler and bolder colors like black, grey and burgundy, finding this beautiful coffee-colored trench, reignited my passion for a softer color palette (cream, tan, taupe, heather and brown). Of course, the perfectly slouchy and cozy, cream-colored knit and printed plaid scarf (More treasures from the same Nordstrom Rack trip! Must have been my lucky day!) could also have something to do with it! Why do I love this color palette so much? Well, mainly because it creates such a strong statement, especially paired with slouchier silhouettes! Also, I think it's because I have a bit of a soft spot for layering to stay warm in cooler temperatures, and wearing these colors together creates such a cozy and chic look.
What about you guys, do you share my passion for this color palette as well?
This post was brought to you by Nordstrom Rack.

EXPRESS GIFT GUIDE
Good morning, Everyone! How is your week going so far?
As I have mentioned before, I absolutely love the Holiday season and shopping for gifts is one of my favorite things to do! Since I like to savor this experience, normally I start shopping for gifts fairly early. And of course this year is no exception:) For the past few months, I've been scouring though my favorite stores, making mental notes of all the cute things I find, so I could get them closer to Christmas. I know, few months seems like a long time, but as I mentioned before, shopping for gifts is my favorite thing ever! So, I would probably start shopping for next year the day after Christmas if I could:)
Talking about favorite stores, if you read my blog on regular basis, you know EXPRESS happens to be one of my go-to places for pretty much everything. This year, I ended up finding oh-so-many wonderful presents there, so I decided to take this opportunity to share a few of them with you.
1. Who doesn't love a cute hat? Reason why I chose this particular one is because of the slightly slouchy fit, thick knit stitch and of course that super cute pom pom! Don't know about you guys, but I am practically obsessed with pom pom hats right now!
2. Practical and fun, cozy yet stylish, a cute scarf makes for one perfect gift! Reason why I am more than a little bit obsessed with this particular one, is the combination of colors, reversible contrast patterns and of course the oversized design!
3. I think watches make great gifts because they are literally something a person wears every day! So, aside from being a beautiful gift, they are also incredibly practical. Love this particular one because of the sleek design and of course that rose gold finish!
4. Four cutest lip gloss colors in one set! I really love this one because of how versatile it is! You can wear the colors on their own or layered together, go bold with burgundy or red for night or opt for a softer look with pretty pink or clear shade.
5. Cute, comfy, and stylish, I think plaid shirts make a wonderful gift, especially if they just happen to be perfectly oversized and come in the most amazing combination of navy, cream and raspberry:)
6. Since I am a complete and total shoeaholic, it's only natural that I think a pair of perfect heels is a great gift idea! Love these particular ones because of the super sexy shape, suede finish and of course that vibrant red color!
On me: EXPRESS Amaze sweater, high waisted black jeans legging& bead & braid bracelets | Nialaya diamond burst ring, arrowhead diamond ring, evil eye ring& fashion ring in silver
Featured in gift guide: EXPRESShat& scarf, red mule pumps, Analog bracelet watch in rose gold, oversized plaid shirt& lip gloss set

THE PERFECT PLAID
I wanted to take this opportunity to share yet another one of my outfits comprised entirely of current favorites. Take the denim shirt I am wearing in today's post for example, love the shrunken, slightly more feminine fit and of course the blue-tone plaid adds that extra wow factor, I always look for in pieces. Today, I paired with a cute leather RED Valentino mini I found on a recent trip to Nordstrom. A big fan of leather skirts in general, what I love about the particular one I am wearing in today's post, is the classic pencil-fitting silhouette combined with the edgier feel of leather. Though normally I am all about details, I actually prefer the cleaner style of this one, because I think it makes it mush more versatile. I love the way it looks paired with more casual pieces like denim shirts, oversized sweaters and chunky boots, yet I could just as easily wear it with fitted blazers, feminine blouses and strappy heels for a slightly edgier take on a night-time look.

A TOUCH OF TEAL
Good morning, Everyone! I hope your weekend is going great so far!
As I was trying to figure out what to wear to a dinner with friends last night, I came across this beautiful teal StyleStalker jacket I got specifically for an event coming up in a few weeks and just couldn't resist wearing it a bit earlier:) As I have mentioned before, most of the time my outfits begin with a single anchor piece and once I figure out what it is, everything magically falls into place:)
Since last night's dinner was supposed to be a somewhat dressier affair, I decided to step it up a notch with my make up and forgo my usual no-eyeshadow-cat-liner eye make up and rosy lips in favor of a more dramatic sparkly eyes and shimmery copper lips.
To achieve this look I used Estee Lauder eye palette in Batik Sun, which is technically speaking a Summer color palette, but I like it so much, I use it year round. This is my third one, and honestly, I will continue buying it for as long as I can. The gold shade is one of my favorites and is the one I use the most. Aside from it's primary purpose, it also works great as a highlighter when applied along cheek bones, on the bridge of the nose and on cupid's bow.
Here is what I did to achieve this look:
Step 1: After applying an eye primer, I used the gold shade all over my lids to browbone.
Step 2: Next, I blended the darker brown shade in the crease.
Step 3: Using the lightest pale gold shade, I highlighted below the brow bone and inner corners of my eyes.
Step 4: To add a bit of drama, I lined two thirds of my lower lash line with the sparkly teal shade making sure to smudge the edges for a slightly sultrier look.
And voila! All done!

POSEIDON
Good morning and happy Monday, Everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Wanted to share an outfit I wore to a recent impromptu shopping trip. After a few cold, rainy days, I woke up on Friday hoping to see some sunshine, but instead was greeted by dark clouds and chilly breeze. Personally, I don't mind the cold that much, but lack of sunshine, especially a few days in a row, makes me seriously blue. After some sulking and whining, Emil and I decided to take a walk around our favorite spot on Melrose in an effort to chase away some of these blues. After all, is there really a better cure for bad mood than some shopping and dining? Well, that and of course wearing your new favorite sweater also tends to do the trick... At least for me:)
You see, I had my eye on this gorgeous Alexander Wang number for some time now, so when I spotted it on a recent trip to Nordstrom, I just couldn't resist trying it on. Once I put it on, it was pretty much game over. I knew it was coming home with me:) Can't really decide what I love the most about it, the colors, the bubble texture or the slightly oversized fit, but the combination of all is simply stunning! I really had my heart set on wearing it with white, but seeing how it looked a lot like it was going to rain on Friday, I decided not to take that chance. Suppose this means the sweater is going to have to make another appearance on this blog because it really looks quite beautiful paired with all white. Hope you guys don't mind seeing it again:)!

BOYFRIEND STYLE
Good morning, Everyone! I hope this week is going great for you?
Ever since Emil and I started this blog about 4 years ago, we've been talking about posting a look styled complete by him. Though I always believed it was a great idea, I am also the first to admit it's not always easy for me to give complete creative control to someone else, even to someone who knows me and my style as well as he does.
Yet, as reluctant as I was to let him style a look for me, I have to admit, I was definitely curious to see what he would come up with. I tried to remember some of his favorite looks on me, things that he liked in general, but I couldn't think of a definitive look or style. I know boys generally love dresses and girly things, and he is certainly not an exception in that sense, yet, he always said how much he loved seeing simple things like jeans and cute sweaters on me. So after a while, I let my curiosity take over and gave him complete and total control!
Much to my surprise, because I honestly did expect to wear a dress, he came up with the look I am wearing in today's post! My first reaction - I freaking LOVE IT! By far, the edgiest outfit I've ever sported on this blog, I am honestly half tempted to let him style more for me:) I absolutely love how he was able to create a look that was true to my esthetic and also incorporate items I would consider wardrobe staples, like a great pair of boyfriend jeans and out-of-this-world amazing studded leather jacket. I guess he knows me even better than I thought! :)

Good morning and happy Friday, Everyone! How was your week?
I just wanted to say a quick hello and share a few images of an outfit I wore to dinner with Emil on Thursday. Though, I am definitely still having a love affair with black, lately, I find that I am slowly returning to wearing color again. Granted, I am still very far away from pulling out my bright pink coats and turquoise pumps, and the color palette I tend to be attracted to right now is much calmer and softer, nonetheless, color is definitely making it's way back into my outfits.
Today's look is all about camels, caramels and creams. I think I mentioned before, something about this particular color combination makes me feel warm and cozy and since the weather in LA has been cold and rainy for the past week or so, I've been seeking refuge by wearing quite a bit of caramels and creams. I guess you could say it's my new rainy day go-to color palette:)
What about you guys, is there a particular color combination that helps you chase away rainy day blues?

SHADES OF GREY
Good morning, Everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
I think I mentioned on numerous occasions how much I enjoy the Holiday season! I love Christmas music and decorated tress, sound of jingle bells, wrapping presents, and coffee with eggnog. Granted the latter one is an acquired taste, but I got addicted to eggnog back in Canada, so now I can't imagine Christmas without it:) Yet, what I love about Christmas the most is spending quality time with family and friends. We don't always get to enjoy as much time together through out the year as we would like, but no mater what happens, we always get together during the Holiday season.
Though normally, we all gather together on Christmas Eve, since some of our family and friends are going to be out of town next week, we decided to host our Christmas party a bit earlier and the out-of-this-world amazing dress I 'm wearing in today's post, is what I wore to the party.
I've actually spent a good part of the past few weeks searching for just the perfect thing to wear. I kept going back and forth between a full-length gown and a cocktail dress, but once I found this amazing pleated perfection of a dress, that was pretty much it. Aside from the fact that I have more that a bit of a weakness for tulle, especially pleated, layered tulle, this dress has one of the most beautiful necklines I have ever seen. There is something so magical about a deep v-neck shaped front, delicate shoulder straps and open back. Of course, the reason why I fell in love with this dress is rather a combination of things like satin top combined with the most amazing full pleated tulle skirt, The kind of skirt that dances and moves with each and every step you take.
Oh, and believe me when I say I took full advantage and twirled and danced my little heart out. But when you wearing a dress like this, staying still is completely impossible:)

SEQUINED IN SAN DIEGO
Good morning, Everyone! Emil and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas! We hope joy and happiness snow on you, may all your days be merry and may Santa be extra good to you! :)
This year, Emil and I were hoping for a white Christmas, and kept going back and forth as to where we should spend the Holidays. Unfortunately, our travel plans fell through last minute and since we couldn't possibly have a white Christmas in LA, we figured a warm and sunny Christmas is basically just as good:) Rather than staying home, we decided to rekindle our somewhat unofficial tradition of spending Christmas visiting places we love the most. So, we packed our bags and headed down to San Diego.
And let me tell you, after a few cold and rainy weeks in LA, seeing sun shine again, is exactly what we needed! The weather here is just perfect! Warm and sunny during the day, yet slightly cool in the evening. Honestly, we couldn't imagine a better place to spend Christmas, in fact, we love it so much here, we decided to make Christmas in San Diego a yearly tradition!
What about you guys, where are you spending Christmas?
