Good morning, Everyone! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Well, I am definitely having a black moment:) As I mentioned before, I've been completely obsessed with the color black lately, and little black dresses in particular. Naturally, when I spotted this asymmetric perfection on a recent trip to Nordstrom, it was love at first sight! Edgy and feminine, I  love absolutely everything about it, especially the leather accents and the draping on the side.

I got it about a week ago, and wanted to save it up for a special occasion, but every time I walked into my closet, the dress kept staring back at me begging to take it out for a walk. So last Thursday, I gave in and wore it for no particular reason at all other than the fact that I really wanted to:) Now, I really want to tell you that I am regretting this decision, I really do:) but the truth is dressing up for no reason at all is kinda fun! In fact, I might just start doing it more often!:)

NEW HAIR + PAUL MITCHELL ULTIMATE COLOR REPAIR SYSTEM

Just between us, I've been in a big hair rut lately. My summer adventures, although very exciting, left my hair in a state that can only be described as a complete and total mess. One too many dips in the salty Pacific Ocean, combined with massive UV exposure thanks to my sun worshiping ways, left a lot of damage and made my hair look brittle and lackluster. To make things worse, in an attempt to give my hair color a bit of a lift, I decided to color my hair with henna. Not a good idea! Instead of a color lift, I ended up with a particularly horrendous shade of red, which after a few washes faded into something only Chucky would sport and hair that still looked overwhelmingly damaged:(

So, after reaching my tipping point last week, I decided to turn to professionals at Paul Mitchell. After an initial consultation with the superstar hairstyling duo of Lucie Doughty, Paul Mitchell's Editorial Director, and Takashi Kitamura, International Platform Artist, we settled on a beautiful medium brown, a shade that is very close to my natural hair color ( before the unfortunate henna incident ) but with a bit more dimension. As I was staring at the swatch of this beautiful, gleaming shade, it suddenly dawned upon me, this beautiful new hair color deserved a cut as well! After all, I always said I will go short eventually and this felt like the right time to do it:)

Once we settled on the cut and color, Lucie washed my hair with Ultimate Color Repair Shampoo and Ultimate Color Repair Conditioner, the first two steps in Paul Mitchell Ultimate Color Repair three-part, sulfate-free system which features reparative power of quinoa fused with nature-inspired ingredients, designed to lock in hair color and reverse the signs of damage.

Next Takashi cut my hair, towel dried it and prepped it for styling with Ultimate Color Repair Triple Rescue spray, the third step in the system, which defends hair against heat styling - one of the primary causes of color fade.

Normally it takes me quite a bit of time to style my hair, but thanks to my new awesome hairdo the process of styling was quick and simple, which in my opinion is a true measure of a great hair cut. Takashi simply dried my hair with a round brush and then curled a few sections to add texture and dimension.

Honestly, seeing this final result blew me away! The new hair looked much more polished, sophisticated, healthy and shiny:) I know, I know... I am gushing here, but I've been so unhappy with my hair lately and struggled to find the right products to use, so I am sure you can understand how happy I felt seeing such a tremendous difference after just a single application of the right hair care products.

In terms of hair care, as I have mentioned before to keep this new beautiful hair color from fading and to combat the damage, Lucie suggested Paul Mitchell Ultimate Color Repair System, which is designed to keep the color fresh for up 9 weeks, reduce breakage and enhance shine. Naturally, I plan to continue using the Ultimate Repair System religiously, and keep you updated on my progress!

P.S. If you have any questions about the cut, color or products used, please feel free to email me anytime!

Good morning and happy Friday, Everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful week!

I wanted to take this opportunity to share a few images of the outfit I wore to my friend's Wedding this week. Since the occasion was quite formal, I decided to go for a really glamorous evening look. So, even though I normally gravitate towards shorter cocktail dresses for evening, I opted to wear a floor-length gown instead. Btw, the search for a perfect floor-length gown began a few weeks ago, and was pretty fruitless until I found this beautiful chevron number. I think what attracted me the most  to this dress was the simplicity of silhouette combined with the boldness of black and white chevron pattern.

Once I settled on the dress, I began thinking about the perfect jewelry to pair it with. Though I love wearing statement earrings for evening, something about the cut of the dress kept me thinking about bold wrist-wear. Since I am currently at the height of my obsession with pearls, I decided to layer pearl bracelets on both wrists. Despite the fact that I chose pearls as the main focal point of my wrist-wear, whenever I layer bracelets, I like to mix in one or more different textures. In this case, aside from layering pearl bracelets in various sizes and colors, I added a few rhinestone pieces as well. Finally, though I was slightly tempted to add a pair of dangling earrings, I decided to keep all of the attention on the wrists and opted to wear simple pearl studs, a decision I greatly appreciated once I started dancing and didn't have to deal with earrings constantly getting tangled in my hair:)

What about you guys, do you share my more is more philosophy when it comes to jewelry? How do you feel about layering bracelets for evening?

Good morning, Everyone! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend! I just wanted to say a quick hello and share some of my new denim favorites, which as of lately became my unofficial off-duty uniform.

I don't know about you guys, but I can't imagine anything more comfortable and comforting than a pair of skinny jeans and an oversized denim shirt:) The particular pairing I'm wearing in today's post is one of my absolute favorites at the moment. I love, love, love this blue, which happens to pair so well with my beloved black, I also have a weakness for printed denim, and this muted white floral print feels both understated and refreshing!

What about you guys, what is your off-duty uniform at the moment?

MOTO COLORBLOCK

Good morning, Everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Today's look is yet another one of those outfits comprised entirely of my current favorites! Though my love affair with black is still in full swing, as of lately, I started to make exceptions for special pieces and make my way back to wearing a bit of color again. Of course by special pieces I mean incredibly cool color block biker jackets featuring my favorite shade of red:) As you may know, jackets are my weakness so if I happen to come across a slightly slouchy, textured perfection of a moto jacket, which I found at Express recently, it's pretty much game over for me, or as I like to call it love at first sight, I am never taking it off kinda deal! Aside of course from the color combination, what I love about this jacket is that it's such a statement piece. I think the main reason for this being that as we move into Fall, outwear becomes one of the main focal points in my outfits so I definitely look for pieces that create a strong visual impact. Take today's look for example, sure this look could have worked with a simple black leather or tweed jacket, but I felt that the color block moto added an extra dose of drama and helped to create a more dramatic impact overall.

What about you guys, what do you mainly look for in your Fall outwear?

Good morning, Everyone! Hope your week is going great so far!

If you read my blog on regular basis, I'm sure you know what a huge shoe addict I am. Though I pretty much love all styles of shoes, when it comes to Fall/Winter footwear, boots are definitely a particular obsession of mine. So, I figure I'll take this opportunity to talk about one of my favorite pairs of all time:)

The Stuart Weitzman boots I'm wearing in this post have been with me since last year. I got them right before fashion week and we've been virtually inseparable since. Aside from being one of the most comfortable pairs I own, reason why I love them so much is because they work with just about any outfit imaginable. Whether I am putting together a dressy look or a more casual outfit, like I'm sporting in today's post, to me, they are a perfect finishing touch. I think the reason why they look good with a variety of styles is mainly because of their heel. As I was searching for a perfect pair of over the knee boots last year, I kept coming across a lot of styles featuring a super high stiletto-type heel. Though normally I am a big fan of stiletto heels, I felt like a shorter, thicker heel would give this type of boots a more casual appeal and make them more versatile. After a month or so of fruitless searching, I finally came across these and it was pretty much love at first sight! Fast forward a year later and the magic is still there, so I feel I should warn you in advance, there is a pretty good chance you'll be seeing quite a bit of them on this blog! Hope you don't mind:)

ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK...

Good morning and happy Friday, Everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful week!

I guess you could say I came across a bit of a bump on the road to finding a perfect black tote. This bump being of course an even more perfect oversized Alexander McQueen bright orange duffel:) After a moment of hesitation, I decided that there is absolutely no reason why an orange tote couldn't work with all those outfits I was planning to wear with a black one. Well..., none that I could see at that particular moment, because to be quite frank, when I find a bag I like, especially in a really pretty color, reason and logic tend to go out the door:) But, I am happy to report I was right this time! After I took it home and tried it with a few outfits, I realized that bright orange adds a nice dose of color to my predominantly black outfits.

What do you guys think? How do you feel about bright orange totes for Fall?

TO THE MAX :: VIVALUXURY FOR DVF

Good morning, Everyone! I hope you are all had a wonderful weekend!

If you read my blog on regular basis, you may remember last month I got a chance to partner with DVF to style one of my favorite items of clothing of all time - the wrap dress ( see post here ). Well, I am absolutely ecstatic to collaborate with DVF yet again to style a maxi version of the wrap dress!

As I have mentioned before, one of the reasons why I love DVF wrap dresses so much aside of course from how flattering they are, is the fact that they move with your body. Whenever I wear a wrap dress, I feel like every step I take sets the skirt into motion, creating an illusion that it's floating around you in the most magical and graceful of ways.

When it came to choosing which maxi wrap dress to style, it was definitely not an easy decision to make. I kept going back and forth between different color and print options, until I came across the dress I am wearing in today's post. I am sure you're not surprised given my weakness for certain shade of blue, but I think what attracted me the most to this specific dress was actually the print. Magical and dreamlike, something about this print reminded me of a beautiful, starry sky... Naturally,   it was love at first sight and I simply couldn't resist adding it to my wrap dress collection. Can you blame me?:)

STEP BY STEP :: MY CURRENT HAIR-CARE ROUTINE

Good morning, Everyone! Hope you are all enjoying your week!

So, it's been exactly 2 weeks since my hair make-over and since I started using Paul Mitchell Ultimate Color Repair System. Because I promised I will keep you posted on my progress, I would like to take this opportunity to talk to you a little bit about my current haircare routine and my new found love and respect of my hair:)

As I have mentioned before, I put my hair through quite a bit of abuse this summer. In fact, I put it through so much abuse, by the end of August my hair was looking dry, brittle and brassy. Two weeks ago, I realized I can no longer go in public with my mane looking the way it did, so I turned to the professionals at Paul Mitchell. Aside from getting an amazing choppy bob, and a fresh color treatment. Lucie Doughty, Paul Mitchell's Editorial Director and the person responsible for the amazing color I am currently sporting, recommended a shade that is very similar to my natural color, but with much more dimension.

Since I am absolutely crazy about my new color and want to keep it looking fresh for as long as possible, I've been using Paul Mitchell Ultimate Color Repair System. So, without further ado, here is my step by step haircare routine at the moment.

1. I wash my hair with Ultimate Color Repair Shampoo, concentrating on the roots. Completely sulfate-free, this shampoo contains reparative quinoa and nature-inspired ingredients to preserve hair color and combat damage. Super gentle and moisturizing, I just can't get over how much smoother and healthier my hair feels after each!

2. Next, I apply Ultimate Color Repair Conditioner, which is designed to lock in hair color and reverse the signs of damage. Normally, I like to leave it on for about 15 minutes but once a week or whenever I have a little more time, I like to use it as a deep conditioner and I leave it on for a little longer ( around 30 minutes ).

3. Finally, once my hair is towel dried and ready for styling, I spray Ultimate Color Repair Triple Rescue spray, to protect my hair from heat styling, one of the primary causes of color fade. A little tip, I noticed this particular product separates very quickly. So to get full benefits, make sure you shake it well, before usage.

Since I started using this system, I noticed that not only did it help preserve the color, but it also improved the health of my hair overall. My hair is much more shiny, manageable and easier to style. I am definitely planning to continue using this system and keep you guys posted on my progress!

As always, if you guys have any questions, about products or styling, please feel free to email me anytime!

LIFE IS A BEAUTIFUL RIDE

I've always been active. Growing up in a house with 2 very fitness-oriented parents, being active was pretty much a given. Yet, after moving to California about 9 years ago, I struggled to find an activity I could really enjoy on regular basis. I've tried a few different things like running and hiking for example, and for a while I was really captivated by both. But I get bored easily and once the novelty an excitement ware off, I feel trapped in a fitness routine. Well, that was the case until I discovered biking! Biking is never boring to me! I feel equally excited every time I bike and unlike with most other activities, given a chance, I could go for hours and hours. Seriously, if you guys haven't tried it, I really recommend it!

The one thing I discovered was if you spend hours and hours outside, you really have to be diligent about using sunscreen. I have to confess, I haven't always been as good as I should be about wearing sun protection, and after riding for about six months, started noticing some sun damage on my nose and cheeks. So now, I use sunblock religiously and never leave home without it.

Currently, I am using Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration face lotion SPF 30 on my face. I love this particular one because aside from the fact that it smells amazing ( think exotic botanicals and light tropical fragrance), it's water resistant (up to 80 minutes) and keeps the skin moisturized without feeling heavy or clogging pores. I am also using Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Ultra Touch Radiance Lotion Sunscreen SPF 30 on my body. Another current favorite, I love this product because it protects my skin, while keeping it really soft. The fact that it also happens to be water resistant (up to 80 minutes) is a bonus ( definitely comes in handy on my frequent trips to Palm Springs for some serious pool time).

It's important to make sure that you are reapplying your sunscreen every two hours to ensure that you are properly protected. Of course, I also find myself consistently reapplying simply because I am just  little addicted to the fragrance and how luminous my skin looks after application :)

GETTING IN SHAPE WITH MAYBELLINE BROW DRAMA

$

Good morning and happy Saturday, Everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful week!

I am sure you've all guessed from the title of this post that this particular entry is going to be all about eyebrows! You see, as of lately I've developed a full on obsession with eye brows! Why you ask? Well, in my opinion nothing transforms a face quite like eyebrows do. The right shape can bring out your eyes, accentuate or minimize certain features, and balance the whole face in general.

So why did I start obsessing with eyebrows now? Well, mainly because thanks to mother nature, I have fairly thin eyebrows, which wasn't much of a problem until the fuller brows came in style. Suddenly my frail arches didn't look current anymore. So, when I was approached by Who What Wear and Byrdie.com to try out and shoot a campaign for the new Maybelline Brow Drama eyebrow mascara, I jumped at the chance to transform my barely there arches!

When I met with the make up artist on the day of the shoot, we started by talking about my eyebrow concerns. As I have mentioned before, I really wanted my brows to look fuller and more polished. To achieve this look, the make up artist recommended Maybelline Brow Drama in dark brown, a shade closest to my natural brow color.

The application process was really simple and consisted of a single step, i.e. applying the product using light, upwards strokes following along the brow contour. The entire process took less than a few minutes and I have to say, I was completely amazed by the end result. My eyebrows looked much fuller, more polished and defined. I also really loved the way Maybelline Brow Drama feels on! In the past, I tried a few brow products that felt really heavy, but this tinted gel mousse, felt completely weightless, basically like I was wearing nothing at all!

Special thank you to the wonderfully talented Justin Coit who shot all the beautiful images for the Maybelline campaign and to Byrdie.com for all of the behind the scenes shots!

FAVORITE THINGS

Good morning, Everyone! How is your Sunday going s far?

I just wanted to say a quick hello and share snaps of a few of my favorite pieces at the moment, starting from the cutest sweatshirt I'm wearing in this post! What can be more comfy than an oversized sweatshirt? Well, nothing really... at least for me that is:) This particular one from Escada Sport is my current favorite. Love the loose fit and the tone-on-tone embroidered detailing in the front makes it that much more special. You know me, I am all about the details :)

Next item on the list are the sky-high Jimmy Choo heels I'm sporting in this post. The one thing every girl needs in her closet is a pair of black pumps. Something you can pair with pretty much anything from a cocktail dress to a leather jacket and jeans type f a look. Reason why I love this particular pair is because I am just a little bit partial to super high heels, and of course the combination of suede upper and patent leather covered heel makes them a true statement shoe.

Last but not least item on the list is the cream-colored pair of jean cords I'm wearing in this post. If you ever had to search for light-colored denim or cords, I'm am sure you know how hard it is to find a pair that fits. Either too snug or too loose, a lot of them fit really tight around the knee/ankle area, which in my opinion isn't particularly flattering. So, when I came across this pair, I knew I finally found exactly what I was looking for! Not too tight or too loose, I love how comfortable they are! Not to mention the color! I don't know about you guys, but I am absolutely crazy about wearing white for Fall/Winter:)

JUST DANDY :: LEATHER & TWEED

Good morning, Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Lately, I spent quite a bit of time talking about my Fall essentials, so forgive me if I keep repeating myself, but I would like to take this opportunity to add one more essential to my already extensive list of mandatory Fall items:)

When it comes to Fall wardrobe, a great pair of leather pants is pretty high on my must-have list! Aside from being incredibly versatile, dress them up with a blazer and a pair of heels or down with a slouchy sweater and studded boots, leather pants add texture, edge and polish to pretty much any outfit. Having said that, not all leather pants are created equal and in all honesty it took me quite a while to find this elusive perfect pair.

To me, a great pair of leather pants fits you like a glove, doest stretch out, and isn't constricting in any way. Yeah, I know, quite a few conditions, but considering I pretty much live in them come Fall and Winter, I don't think it's too much to ask for:) So, after searching for some time, I finally came across these leather marvels from Level99. Made from stretch French leather, somehow they manage to hug you in all the right places, keep their shape throughout the day, yet feel incredibly comfortable.   Now, comfort isn't necessarily something I've come to expect from leather pants ( you know what I'm talking about... some leather pants are so stiff you can barely sit down, or bend your knees or even walk, and when you do you, you look like a bit of a Frankenstein ... basically not graceful at all ), so the fact that this pair is super comfortable is definitely an added bonus!

I know, I am probably gushing a bit, but I am truly obsessed! So much so that I also got them in a few different colors, so I hope you won't mind seeing quite a bit of them in the next few months:)!

Good morning, Everyone! How is your week going so far? So, my search for a perfect oversized black turtleneck sweater encountered a bit of a bump on the road, i.e. I sort of, kind of found a very pretty minty-colored oversized sweater, I simply had to have:) Don't know about you guys, but to me, it happens all the time! While searching for something I just happen to find something else, get distracted and forget what I was looking for in the first place.

Not that this was an unhappy occurrence, I love this Calypso sweater and honestly think it's a perfect addition to my Fall/Winter wardrobe. I mean, how stunning is this minty-icy-blue color? Not to mention the fact it's not always simple finding an oversized sweater that fits right and this one happens to be that perfect medium between slouchy and fitted. Yet, I still don't have that black oversized turtleneck:) I guess I am just going to have to go back to my original strategy of making lists of necessary items, and trying not to get districted by minty sweaters, no matter how pretty the are:)!

SAN DIEGO BLUES

Good morning, Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Emil, Ninel (my sister in law) and I spent the weekend in San Diego, attending a friend's wedding. The wedding took place on Saturday, but since we love the city so much we decided to hang out for 2 more days, exploring a few places we haven't previously visited. I think I mentioned before, San Diego is a very special place for us and we discover something new to love about it every time we are there. In fact, as I am writing this post, we are already planning our next visit:)

Knowing we would be walking around quite a bit, I decided to wear something really comfortable and lately comfort has become synonymous with sneakers and a cozy coat for me. The coat I am wearing in today's post is one of my latest splurges. You know how much I love blue, and this particular shade is just beyond stunning, not to mention the fact that it pairs so beautifully with my beloved black and white combo. Super soft and light-weight, it's so comfortable it kind of feels like a warm, cozy blanked wrapped around me, which is the main reason why it is my absolute favorite at the moment. The sneakers I'm wearing in today's post are my other obsession du jour. I don't know about you guys, but I find combination of quilted leather, platforms and side zippers simply irresistible ) In fact, I find it so irresistible, as of lately, I've abandoned all of my high heels in favor of these quilted babies:)

P.S. Emil and I are two very silly people, and even tough our shoots start on a somewhat serious note, eventually they all end with really silly behavior and pictures. Most of the time we skip posting these pics in favor of the ones in which I am not jumping, dancing like a fool or reenacting scenes from Hot Rod (Emil's favorite movie, please don't judge!!! ) But, we decided to make an exception and post a few. Hope you enjoy them:)!

PRETTY CHARMING :: PANDORA INTERNATIONAL GIVEAWAY

Good morning, Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful week! Lately, I've gotten a few readers emails about how I come up with my outfits. So, I thought I'd take this opportunity to talk a little bit about my styling process.

Normally, I start by thinking about the occasion. For example, while we were in San Diego last weekend, Emil and I had a really fun brunch with a few of our close friends. Since the place we chose for brunch was pretty formal, I decided a cute dress and a tailored blazer would be absolutely perfect for the occasion!

Once I choose my anchor pieces, I start thinking about the accessories, paying particular attention to jewelry. Why do I focus on jewelry so much you ask? Well, mainly because I think jewelry is really what sets the tone for the entire look. Take today's dress for example, paired with biker boots and minimal jewelry, it can look really casual, but add a pair of heels, full-on arm party and stacked rings and you got yourself a really glamorous look, perfect for pretty much any dressy occasion like evening cocktails or Holiday party!

The jewelry I am wearing in today's post is another topic of conversation. If you follow my blog on regular basis, you know my obsession with PANDORA jewelry runs deep. My love affair with PANDORA started with a single bracelet and a few charms, but over the past year, thanks to a few very surpassing and welcome gifts from Emil's and more than a few less surprising but just as welcome gifts to myself, my collection has really blossomed. What can I say, I simply cannot resist! As I have mentioned before, aside from the fact that PANDORA pieces are absolutely stunning, each charm has a special meaning, and I find it to be incredibly romantic.

Now, here comes the best part! One lucky reader will have a chance to win a beautiful PANDORA Holiday 2014 collection bracelet I am wearing in this post!

Good morning, Everyone! Hope you are enjoying your Sunday!

So, LA weather has been kinda insane lately! Warm and sunny one day and gloomy and cold the next! A week or so ago, I really felt like coat weather is finally upon us and put away all of my Summer stuff! Well, apparently I was just a bit premature:) I don't know whether the universe is playing a trick on me but as soon as I put my Summer wardrobe away and got my coats and fluffy sweaters out, the heat was back with a vengeance! Not that any sane person should be complaining about warm weather in November, but finding what to wear has been just a bit challenging lately:)

The temporary solution I've come up so far is jackets/blazers and boots. In order to feel just a tad more fall appropriate I started wearing everything with boots! And I mean everything!!! Denim shorts and dresses included:) I also feel like layering with jackets and blazers gives an outfit a bit more weight, and in my mind, makes it a bit more Fall appropriate. Not that this makes not wearing my new favorite coats and sweaters any more bearable, but it's something!

Honestly, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I am really wishing for some cold weather! Hopefully, this heat will not last long, and I will finally get to take my new fall favorites out for a walk:)!

Good morning, Everyone! Hope you all had a lovely weekend! If I had to name 5 favorite things in my closet, the coat I am wearing in today's post would be right at the top of that list. Aside from the fact that I am really attracted to coats in general, reason why this happens to be a favorite is really a combination of fit, print and color. Perfectly slouchy and cozy, the black and white pairing creates such a bold yet timeless statement. I've had it since last year and wore it religiously, but I feel it is just as current today and will continue to be even years from now.

I have searched the web trying to find it, but unfortunately it is sold out everywhere! Guess I wasn't the only one who saw the full potential of this coat:) But I managed to find a few similar options you guys might enjoy.

What about you, what are your favorite items of clothing of all time?
