Fringe Benefits

I am a big believer in the benefits of fringe, which is why I am so happy to see so much of it on Spring 2019 runways! Dramatic, glamorous and fun, I love the way fringe adds that perfect touch of wow to a look! Another reason, and I hate to sound like a broken record here, but I’m afraid I must, fringe is extremely versatile. Gorgeous on garments (I mean can we acknowledge automatic twirl-wothyness of a fringed dress or skirt), great on accessories (currently living for this fringed belt), really, it’s one of those trends that is super easy to wear!

Another reason I love fringe is because it’s a bit of a chameleon. It can be very elegant and glamorous (think this little black number right here) or more casual western-inspired (love a great fringed jacket paired with jeans and boots ). Really, you can make it your own! I definitely have a soft spot for fringed accessories since I love a bit of drama when it comes to shoes and bags (these boots with a chunky knit and skinnies are everything, or opt for this fringed bag instead of your typical cocktail-hour classic clutch bag). Last but certainly not least are cold-weather staples like chunky scarves for example. To me a great scarf is a must-have since not only will it keep you nice and warm, it also adds that sophisticated, polished element to your look. Well, fringe and scarves are basically a match made in fashion heaven (how awesome is this one for example)!

What about you guys, are you also feeling fringe right now?

Softer Palette: A Nod To Lavender

Always a fan of pastels and softer colors in general, I am very happy to see that Lavender, i.e. one of my favorite colors of all time is having a moment. Love this pretty shade because it’s just so feminine, elegant and eye-catching! Though normally, lavender is not necessarily a color you would think of wearing for Fall/Winter, I find, that it actually pairs really beautifully with winter’s staple-shades like navy, burgundy, gray and brown (especially caramel).

For Example:

A Lavender Scarf: Pair a pretty lavender scarf like this one or this one with a navy coat to add a splash of color to your look.

A Lavender Sweater: Gorgeous with burgundy, I love wearing a pretty lavender sweater like this one, or this striped version here with a fun burgundy coat. Currently obsessed with this Peacoat, this menswear inspired long coat & this burgundy teddy bear coat!

Lavender Jeans: Lavender & gray, especially gray tweed is basically a combination made in fashion heaven! Combine these cute cord lavender boyfriend jeans with a tweed bomber to add a bit of drama to a casual look.

Lavender Accents: Seriously obsessed with these Hunter boots in the prettiest shade of lavender, normally, I wear them with blue jeans and a camel coat! You can also opt for a bag in lavender, loving this cute Rebecca Minkoff backpack at the moment, especially paired with an oversized chunky knit!

Bring On the Bling

Always a fan of bold when it comes to jewelry, these are some of my favorite pieces at the moment! Great for night (think 80’s-inspired little black dresses or slinky jewel-tone numbers) honestly, I live for the way they pair with more casual, everyday staples like sweaters, distressed denim and oversized coats. Why? Well, I love the way statement pieces like bold chokers and oversized earrings add that perfect dose of sparkle to a casual look.

Currently, loving the way these 2 chokers (wearing Genevieve choker & Josephine choker) look with oversized mens-inspired white shirts and high-waisted blue jeans for day. Often, when I go out and the occasion is not very formal, I pair them with cashmere sweaters and tailored slacks. I like to keep things slightly understated when it comes to more casual evening looks, and these statement chokers work perfectly to add a dose of drama and glamour to some of my simpler outfits.

Statement earrings are my other obsession at the moment! When it comes to taking an evening look to another level nothing works quite like a pair of dramatic earrings. Basically the most important and versatile piece of jewelry to own this season, I wear the 2 above pairs (wearing Cecile earrings from Dannijo) non-stop, day and night! Obviously gorgeous with an evening dress or a pretty cocktail number, my favorite way of wearing them is with some of my more casual-cozy pieces like an oversized knits or duster coats!

The Future is Clear

Chunky knits, distressed denim, white boots & clear bags, is basically what I live for at the moment! Today’s outfit is comprised entirely of my current favorites! I got the sweater I am wearing in this post last week and I am happy to say we haven’t parted ways since. Cozy, warm and comfy, you guys know I am on a big lavender kick at the moment, but this very soft shade has to be my favorite by far!

Scroll to the bottom of this post to SHOP THIS LOOK, otherwise I found a few really pretty chunky knit options at NORDSTROM. A few favorites: A great bargain at just $55, love this chunky cable sweater in Snow White/Sephia, this pretty lavender v-neck is perfect for layering, and this 3-color roll neck number from Topshop is just adorable, finally always love a cropped cardigan and this one from Free People in pink is absolutely gorgeous.

Also, I wasn’t always a huge fan of the clear bag trend but now I have a new found appreciation for them. First, they are really easy to style, I mean clear goes with everything doesn’t it… Second, they are pretty seasonless. Wear them now, wear them later, they never fail to make a statement. Currently obsessing over this cross-body option & and this one!

Must-Have Bags Styles This Season

Always an accessories fanatic, I honestly can’t imagine a complete look without the right bag. The right bag, you say? Well, let me explain… THE RIGHT BAG is one that enhances your look, completes it, but also (and this is more of icing on the cake type scenario) versatile enough to go with a few items in your closet. In other words, the right bag is a multitasker! This is probably the biggest reason why I find myself reaching for the same bags over and over again, and the ones I’ve been wearing on repeat as of late are the 3 following ones:

BELT BAG – hands free and HELLA cool, what’s not to love, right? Oh, oh, oh… and also, can be worn on your waist, cross-body, or on your shoulder! YAY for versatility! Currently loving anything in a pastel color family! What about you?

CLASSIC CROSS BODY – when in doubt, wear this bag style, trust me, it always looks good! Though I do love me a classic black version of this bag, I find that this style in neutral (like the one I’m wearing in this post) literally quadruples it’s wearability! I mean, neutral bags go with everything, and so do classics!

TRANSPARENT BAG – honestly, clear is just a bolder, funner version of neutral! Oh, and if you’re worried about having all the items in your bag on full display, just do what I do. Get you a few giant makeup bags in different colors (I opted for white here), to hide your stuff and play up different colors in your outfit!

2019 Resolution

If you follow me on instagram, you may already know that one of the resolutions I’ve made for 2019 is to spend more time outdoors and get back to running and hiking! Both hiking and running were my go-tos for years, but lately, I’ve comfortably settled into doing yoga and pilates at home. I blame it on my schedule, I can do yoga any time, anywhere, which is really convenient when I’m traveling, and at the end of the day, nothing relaxes you and quiets a busy mind quite like yoga! And yet…, I miss being outside, I miss the way morning sun feels on my skin after a good hike, I miss the fresh air and the beautiful canyon views and I miss the social aspect of it! Yoga at home is something that I do by myself but I always ran and hiked with my friends.

So, in a spirit of getting started on those 2019 resolutions, I’ve took up running again. Right now, I ran for about 30-40 minutes and do some light yoga and stretching on the go. Circulation tends to be a rather big problem for me, and stretching is something that helps tremendously! What about you guys, what are some of your favorite fitness routines?

P.S. I don’t know about you guys, but something about new fitness gear gets me really pumped and excited about working out! With so many awesome lines to choose from, I thought I’d take this opportunity to name a few:

ALO YOGA – comfortable, durable and just plain gorgeous! Honestly, this is one of my favorites at the moment! Oh, and the fact that I can wear a lot of it outside the gym so to speak, is definitely an added bonus!

FP MOVEMENT from Free People – loves the colors and the styles, it’s one of my favorite places to shop for new leggings, practically living in this set at the moment!

ASOS – another go-to place to shop for activewear. The brand and style selection is absolutely amazing!

NIKE – the obsession started with their running shoes and cropped hoodies, but now I live for Nike sports bras. The comfort and support level is amazing!

Glow-Getters: Winter Skincare & Makeup Edition

$

What is it about winter that puts your skin in a general state of Meh? Well, at least that’s what happens to my skin, because in a span of a few very short weeks I go from glowing summer skin to pasty, flaky and tired-looking during winter! Good news is that it doesn’t have to stay that way, through trial and error I’ve found that although skin definitely needs a bit more love and attention during colder months, with a few right products you can have that glow back and then some! And so, I’ll take this opportunity to talk about some of the products I swear by to get me back into fighting shape!

Scrub, scrub, scrub and then scrub some more! But be gentle:) A good scrub helps to slouch away dead skin yet doesn’t strip it of moisture completely. This one from Brooklyn Botany is almond oil based, so it’s super moisturizing, yet really effective in terms of improving texture and tone. Normally, I use it once a week all over the body. The trick is to start at the bottom and make your way up (this really helps with circulation), another suggestion, let it sit on your skin for about a minute or two before washing it off, the almond oil really does miracles to moisturize dry skin!

Same philosophy can be applied to the face. This one is my current favorite. Aside from the fact that I swear by honey-based skin care products in general (home-made honey mask makes my skin bounce back from anything in 10 minutes flat), this scrub from Mizon is really gentle yet super effective. If not unlike myself you suffer from dry, patchy skin during winter months, I highly recommend you try it!

Coffee Scrubs (currently loving this one & this one) or emergency body care as I like to call them! The trick to making them really effective is as follows. Get into the shower and stand under warm/hot water for about five minutes (normally I use this time to wash my hair), the hot water helps to open up pores and to prep your skin for the scrub. Next, turn the water off and let your skin air dry for about a minute. Once your skin is more or less on the dry side, apply the scrub from feet up, in circular motion, paying special attention to particularly dry areas (for me it’s usually feet, knees and elbows), once you are done, let the scrub sit on your skin for a few minutes. Coffee helps to improve circulation and tone of the skin. Now, I know it’s a process, but it works and your skin will thank you for it, I promise!

Moisture is key! When my skin is really dry Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil is what helps bring it back! If I’m looking to pamper my skin some more, I’ll follow with Moroccanoil Body Shimmering Dry Oil. Love it because it’s fast absorbing, uber moisturizing and adds that very pretty summery glow, something I can definitely use during winter. Another Josie Maran product I love is the tanning oil, unlike other tanning products that can actually dry your skin, this one is really moisturizing and the color is very natural looking. Love!

As much as I love matte lipsticks, I find that a bit of shimmer or sparkle helps to liven up the face, which is why come fall/winter, I often opt for lip products with a bit of glow. Love these two particular ones – Dior Lip Glow to the Max Hydrating Color Reviver Lip Balm in Pink Glow (a very pretty soft shade of pink) & Guerlain Rouge G Customizable Lipstick in #92, a very pretty caramel nude with just the right amount of shimmer!

The right primer is a game changer, I’m sure you heard it before, but I’ve only recently realized just how true this statement is! When my skin looks a bit tired, or just lackluster, I add a bit of Tom Ford Illuminating Primer under my foundation and the result is just amazing. The effect is very natural, your skin simply looks brighter, healthier and lit from within. Another secret weapon is the Skin Illuminating Powder Duo, a bit of bronzer under the cheek bones a bit of highlighter on the bridge of the nose and top of the cheeks and you’re golden, literally! Yet, once again, the result is very natural, meaning that it looks great in real life and on camera.

Perfect Winter Getaway: Acre Baja Resort in Cabo

If you happen to follow me on instagram, you may already know that we spent the last few days at the beautiful Acre Baja resort in Cabo, enjoying all the things we love the most, i.e. sunshine, swimming, working on our tans, wining, dining and just taking a bit of time off before the craziness of Fashion Month. Though this was our first time at the resort, it very quickly became a favorite. Love at first sight the moment we got there, we especially enjoyed the chill vibe, the pretty grounds, the pool, the treehouse where we stayed and of course the food. Regardless if you’re staying at the property or simply find yourself in the area, I highly recommend making dinner reservations at the Acre restaurant. The globally-influenced menu features locally sourced ingredients (love that), and if we had to name our particular favorites, I highly recommend trying Strawberry Gazpacho, Beet tartare, Vegetarian Tacos, Cauliflower 5 Ways and the Banana Chocolate Pie.

Though it’s kinda hard to name what we loved about the hotel the most, I mean the tree house where we stayed was probably one the coolest experiences ever (stay tuned for that post it’s coming up in the next few days), since we ended up spending majority of our time at the pool, I think it’s definitely worth mentioning! Love the relaxed vibe, love the chill music playing in the background, love the cocktail selection (which by the way is something else Acre is known for, the drinks are award-winning, and a must-try), it was a perfect place to relax, work on our tans, take a dip or a few, and clear your mind of all and any negativity!

Though this time around, we only got to spend a few days here, somehow we left feeling refreshed and relaxed! Obviously we can’t wait to go back and already in the process of planning our next visit, post Fashion Month treat perhaps…

Trend I am Loving at the Moment: Island Print

If you happen to catch my last post you may already know that we spent a few days at Acre Baja last week (if you didn’t CLICK HERE to see why we loved it) and I just couldn’t say enough great things about this place! Love from the moment we got there, though we only stayed a few days, we are definitely planning another (longer) visit come spring time! But in the meantime, I wanted to share a few more images from the hotel, our treehouse and the restaurant, which by the way very quickly became one of our favorite spots to hang out!

A few favorites I mentioned in my last post: Vegetarian Tacos and Cauliflower 5 Ways, although like I said before, everything on the menu is really good in general, so if you happen to be a foodie like us, I definitely recommend heading to Acre for breakfast, dinner or both!

Couldn’t finish this post without at least mentioning the gorgeous dress I am wearing! Island print crazy right now (one of the biggest trends this season), always Rhode Resort obsessed, I am absolutely in love with this dress at the moment. The cut (hello twirl worthy skirt), the built-in belt bag, the color and of course the print just all come together to create one perfect summer dress! Love it on vacation, I can totally see myself wearing it in the city as well. For today’s look I paired it with sneakers just cause I like to pair pretty, girly dresses with sportier shoes, but of course it would look just as great with strappy sandals for day or heels for night. Basically, it works with everything, and that’s always a good thing.

Tree House Hotel Dream

Staying at a tree house hotel has always been a dream of mine, and finding one as cute as this one was definitely icing on the cake! Incredibly romantic, I think what we liked about Acre tree house so much is the fact that though it certainly had that rustic, one-with-nature esthetic yet offered all the conveniences you really don’t want to be without!

The sun-lit patio was probably the place we ended up spending most of our time, enjoying the view, working on our tans, sipping on cold Coronas and just taking it all in! Something that became a bit of a habit for me was having my morning coffee there! The sunrises in Cabo are truly unlike anything I have ever seen before: perfectly pink and incredibly romantic, had to get up extra early to enjoy them but they were totally worth it!

I am very much of a city girl who enjoys all the conveniences one typically expects to find at hotels, so my husband kept joking I wasn’t cut out for that tree house hotel life… Well, proved him wrong! Though I must admit that it wasn’t very hard at all, because this tree house is a perfect combination of earthy and sophisticated! Basically, a dream jungle oasis with all the perks of a luxe hotel!

Though as I have mentioned earlier we couldn’t really stay long this time around, we are definitely planning another trip some time in April! Honestly, can’t wait to go back!

Our Stay at Azulik Tulum

$
0
0

Though normally, Nomade is our hotel of choice when we go to Tulum, this time around we opted for something different, and went with Azulik instead. I always wanted to stay at Azulik, but this particular hotel is rather popular, so it’s hard to book it even in the low season, let alone in January or February, which tend to be high-visit months. Going there, we definitely knew that our stay would be different, but we craved the experience, so we made piece with the idea of no electricity in the room (aside from two outlets to charge your phone), no WiFi, and no shower in the room (there is a rather cute bathtub though and a communal shower should you want one). And an experience it certainly was, a positive one overall, though I must admit that going there next time, I will do a few things differently!

Things that we did like: the property was everything it promised to be and more! Probably the most unique and even magical environment I have ever come across, Azulik is a perfect combination of artistry and nature. I don’t think I ever felt more at peace, relaxed and in touch with nature as I did there! If you want a break from the world’s hustle and bustle, Azulik is the place to go! Take a morning walk on the beach, get a deep tissue massage at Azulik Wellness Sanctuary, opt for a yoga class, spend a day at the beach, and take a moment to enjoy extraordinarily views of the sea, especially at sunset!

Food at Azulik tends to be a rather controversial subject. Things like overpriced, not worth it, and not that good is something that I’ve heard more than a few times. So, we decided to try it for ourselves and here is what we thought: though it wasn’t the best food we’ve ever had or inexpensive, we certainly enjoyed the experience! We had breakfast in the room and dinner at Kin Toh and definitely loved both! Having said that, Tulum has a ton of great restaurants (CLICK HERE to Check out a few of my favorites), so don’t be afraid to venture out and try a few different things!

Sea-front villa is what you want when you go to Aziluk, problem is… everyone wants one, so they tend to get booked fast. Since the villa we wanted was unavailable, we went with Mayan Villa instead.  Very pretty, it did actually offer a partial sea view, yet somehow the experience was not the same! I think the biggest attraction when it comes to this particular hotel is waking up in the morning and looking at the beautiful Caribbean sea, so if you can, definitely opt for the one with the right view. I know we definitely will next time we’re there!

Animal Instincts

Of all the cover-ups I ever had, this gorgeous Caroline Constas animal-print number has to be my favorite. Love the statement making print and flowy silhouette, I don’t think I truly appreciated the uber-high side slits util I put it on. Dramatic factor aside, they actually make this dress very comfortable to wear (those of us with a soft spot for very long dresses know that the length can make them challenging to move in)! Great for day, perfect for night, basically this is the one piece I needed up wearing the most during our trip to Tulum.

Yet another reason I love this dress is my current obsession with animal print in general. Something about the combination of colors, make it the perfect print to pair with the trendiest finishing touches of the moment, like shell jewelry (obsessed with this bracelet and this choker), tortoiseshell bags, statement earrings & of course red lips (wearing my favorite coral red at the moment – Dior Rouge in Ultra Mad)

Nest Tulum

We discovered this charming hotel on our last trip to Tulum. We were looking for a new dinner place to try out, and the restaurant at Nest kept coming up as a must try. Love at first sight, the restaurant was just about everything one can ask for and more. The sea view was magical, the decor was rustic and welcoming and the food… well, we came back three times, so it’s safe to say the food was amazing. If you ever find yourself there, I seriously recommend ordering tacos, pineapple guacamole and black ceviche. Oh, and if you’re a coffee addict like me, their coffee with coconut milk is simply the best I ever tried! Though we have yet to stay there ( definitely planning on it next time ) on our last day in Tulum, we came to Nest for an early morning shoot and somehow ended up lingering all day. Had one of those perfect days of nothing but sunshine, swimming, tanning and dining ( seriously, their food is that good! ).

As you may have noticed, I am having a moment with shell jewelry. A pretty trendy item to sport this spring summer, something about shell jewelry and accessories (how cute is this shell bag? and this one) always puts me in a sunshine state of mind. Currently obsessed with this necklace (and this one) and this bracelet (and how pretty is this one?) I found on Shopbop. Budget friendly, they survived this trip and came home in perfect condition! The Coat I am Living in at the Moment

To say that the weather in LA has been kinda meh lately, is to say nothing at all! Cold and rainy, I can’t remember the last time we saw some sunshine… In fact, the only thing that’s been making this whole situation somewhat tolerable is the fact that I got to add a few new coats to my wardrobe, and the chocolate brown Mango perfection I am sporting in today’s look, is my favorite at the moment by far! Aside from the fact that I love a good beige/brown coat in general, this one is just cozy and long enough to make you feel like you’re wearing a comfy blanket all while looking rather sophisticated and elegant.

Though I love the way this coat looks with anything in beige or neutral palette (the other day I wore it with this sweater and these pants), for today’s outfit, I kinda paired it with all my other current favorites. My new Levi’s skinnies in black (good pair of high waisted black jeans is not easy to find, but these fit amazing), deep-v oversized sweater (another Mango find) & my Ray Ban sunnies!

Oh, and if you happen to be a fan of slightly oversized chocolate brown coats, here are a few others I am loving at the moment:

The cutest oversized teddy bear coat in existence but also

this one because I love a hood on a teddy bear coat!

But this perfect teddy bear coat has to be the coziest thing I have ever seen! Ordered it on Thursday and now counting the days until I finally get my hands on it!

What’s Your Travel Style

$

Though I think that style is something that constantly evolves in general, on a personal level, it is my travel style that has transformed the most. Reason for this is because the more I travel, the more I learn! Comfort is key, and through a process of trial and error I finally figured out what actually works for me and what doesn’t.

Though I used to travel in jeans, I slowly graduated to wool or cashmere joggers. Why? Obviously a much more comfortable option, planes tend to be cold (and I mean very cold), and joggers keep me nice and cozy throughout the flight (love these ones right now and this set). Another travel staple is layers. Normally, I wear a top, a sweater(Bop Basics has amazing styles like this cashmere sweater or pretty pink scarf), and a jacket or a coat when I fly. This way, if it gets hot on the plane, I have an option of removing a layer or two.

Though I didn’t fully appreciate what a fantastic travel companion this Dior tote will make when I got it, I do now, which is why I never travel without it! Aside from the fact that it fits all my travel necessities including large headphones and a make up bag, it’s really easy to reach into and actually find stuff (you know you need to keep that passport and wallet handy when you travel).

Bye boots, bye any shoe style that is remotely uncomfortable, honestly, sneakers are the way to go! Easy to take off (and you know you will in that security line), comfortable to wear, comfortable to run around, and there are so many cute styles to choose from right now!

Plaid, Pastels & Mock Croc

Otherwise known as all the things that are giving me life at this moment… I mean, I don’t think I have to try very hard to make a case for pastels, especially this time of the year when it’s dark and gloomy outside, this soft and pretty color palette tends to brighten things up a bit. I am generally a fan of them period (check out my Shop Page if you don’t believe me) but lately, a pretty lavender knit paired with a comfy white coat is what I am feeling the most.

Venturing into plaid, pants that is, is something a bit new for me and I hold the ones from Theory I am wearing in today’s post responsible! There is a certain kind of softness about them which makes them very easy to style! Good with heels, good with sneakers, just good with pretty much everything and I don’t have to tell you how I love that.

Mini but mighty, and make it mock croc! Easily one of the biggest bag trends of the moment, these little wonders do a wonderful job adding a bit of texture, polish and fashion your look! The ones in this kinda burgundy/brown coloring are my favorite at the moment! First, a burgundy bag is always a statement maker, but add a bit of texture to the mix and you got yourself a spotlight stealer!

Few lavender knits I am loving at this moment:

Perfectly pretty, I can never resist a chunky knit, and this one from Tularosa is absolutely gorgeous. But then… so is this one from Lovers + Friends. Also, I have an ongoing love affair with longer cardigans and this one from Naadam is pretty much the perfect thing to throw over right about anything!

And here are plaid pants I currently have my eyes on:

Love this sporty version from Clu! Obviously perfect casual option to wear with sneakers and a denim jacket, for example! To dress them up, I’d pair them with a cropped knit and a pair of heels (kinda what I did here).

Some mini mock croc love:

Staud in general has become one of my favorite brands as of late, but this little perfection of a bag is just the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! Not can’t really decide which color I love more – burgundy or cream!

New In: Michael Kors Red Trench Coat

Always a fan of a good trench coat because it pairs beautifully with just about everything, this tomato red one from Michael Kors is my favorite at the moment. Perfect in every way, I love the color, the length, and the flowy silhouette. Another LOVE – the way it looks paired with the oversized, perfectly slouchy MK sweater in the matching tomato red shade!

For today’s look, I wore it with my other obsessions at the moment – the MK combat boots in patent leather (love and wear them with everything from skinny jeans, to denim mini skirts) and animal print bag. I think I mentioned before that  wasn’t always such a huge fan of animal print, but the bag I am wearing in this post made me change my mind. An accessory in animal print (love this bag on SALE now) looks really chic paired with solid colors and does a great job of introducing a focal point and an interesting highlight to a look! So… LOVE!

Power Pink – What Do You Think?

Had my eye on this power pink suit for a while now, and when it finally went on SALE on Shopbop.com, it was too good to pass (Use code GOBIG19 to get up to 25% OFF)! Love a good pink suit period, but the combination of cut, color and a slightly iridescent fabric make this dynamic duo a great option for day or night! Obviously good for cocktail hour, I also love to wear it with sneakers and a large tote for day. Been wearing these babies from Nike with a lot of my suits lately (but also dying over these pretty pink ones).

Why do I love a suit in general? Well, it’s like three outfits in one, obviously good together, you can also pair this blazer with skinny denim and cute flats (love these ones and they are ON SALE now), or you can wear them with a pretty top and heels for a cute cocktail hour option! Basically, one suit will take you from day to night and anything in between, LOVE THAT!

Biker Jacket & Blue Jean Forever

When it comes to favorite staples, a good biker jacket and a perfect pair of lightly distressed jeans are always at the top of my list. The ones I am wearing in today’s post are the ones I can’t get enough of at the moment! First, I am obsessed with everything white (rather obvious from this post I think) and a white leather jacket is such a perfect wear now and later piece.

Good to wear to work, good to wear on your down time, basically good for whatever, I love wearing a cute moto jacket with jeans and pants now and with denim cut-offs and summery dresses when it gets warmer. Fact that it’s white, makes it that much more spring/summer appropriate.

Also, for some reason finding that perfect pair of jeans has been particularly difficult lately. I was looking for a style that is slightly cropped and more of straight leg than flared at the bottom, and when I came across these babies, I knew I finally found what I am looking for. Love the fact that they are good with sneakers and ankle boots, yet because of the cropped length, can be paired with strappy heels for a more dressy look. Also, the amount of distressing is just perfect. Not too much, but just enough to give them that warn in, slightly casual appeal. Love That!

P.S. I’m having a bit of a moment with Madewell jeans in general lately. I mean how cute is this pair for example (those buttons though) and also, this pair in white! Such an awesome summer staple!

The Prettiest Bag Trend That’s Here to Stay

The beaded bag trend, aka one of my favorite bag styles, is not going anywhere and I couldn’t be happier! Why do I love it? Well, mainly because it’s one of those items that tends to work with everything. Cute with denim, cute with summery dresses, cute with work-wear inspired looks, it adds that perfect touch of wow to anything you put on. My little styling trick is to opt for a beaded bag in a pastel/neutral color (or go for a metallic version, loving this rose gold colored one) so that I can wear it now, but also in spring and summer when light-colored bags are a must-have.

Though as I mentioned earlier, beaded bags certainly work for night, I actually love wearing mine during the day paired with either jeans or pants and chunky sneakers. Aside from the fact that this bag style helps to elevate more casual looks, the combination of casual footwear/dressy bag looks effortlessly cool yet totally chic.

What about you guys, are you loving the beaded bag trend as much as I do?
