Milan Fashion Week: FENDI

Season to season one of my favorite shows in Milan, this year especially, FENDI SS19 collection definitely left a lasting impression. I absolutely loved the beautiful color palette of creams, caramels, burgundies and oranges, masculine-inspired silhouettes that still felt incredibly feminine, and beautiful accessories like waist-sinching belts, touches of PVC and a classic FENDI baguette bag in a new oversized shape. A dream from start to finish, this collection in particular, resonated with me on every possible level.

Speaking of favorites, the outhit I wore to the show includes more than a few of my current obsessions. Aside from the fact that I have a new found appreciation for the black/white/yellow color combo ( you’ll see this combination making multiple appearances in the next few weeks ), I love the new FENDI mini camera bag in the classic FF print in tones of browns. This bold print wears as a neutral yet never fails to make a statement and add a touch of interest to an outfit. Another obsession is this FENDI oversized sweater. Bold and sporty, I love the way it works with everyday essentials like denim for example, yet it pairs just as well with dressier bottom options. For today’s look I chose to wear it with black to keep it as a focal point of the outfit, but it looks just as cool paired with bolder, brighter colors. Basically, the styling options are limitless, and of course you know how much I love that!

New In: Estee Lauder Double Wear Makeup

What do you look for in a foundation? For me it’s 3 things: shade range, natural-looking coverage ( I hate that “I have foundation on” look, and always look for products that give me that “my skin but better” appeal ) and lastly – staying power. My latest find is Estee Lauder’s Double Wear Stay-In-Place Makeup. For someone who prefers a more natural looking face, it’s not always easy to find a full coverage foundation that doesn’t look obvious, so the reason why I’ve been using nothing other than this particular foundation as of late is because it looks natural even in daylight yet covers all the pesky little things you want to cover. Another reason is staying power. I didn’t think it would last me all day long, but it did, something I particularly appreciated in rainy Paris during fashion week ( also really, really appreciated it in humid Italy this summer… ). Though I am somewhat used to fixing my makeup during the day, going touch up free is kind of wonderful! Love the fact that I can apply it in the morning and sort of forget about it! In addition to the Double Wear Stay-In-Place Makeup, I’ve added 2 more Estee Lauder products to my current makeup routine, scroll down to read what they are and why I love them.

The Mattifier Shine Control Perfecting Primer + Finish – my new favorite primer! I’m sure you know by now that I have oily skin, so shine control is always appreciated. I’ve tried a few mattifying primers but disliked most of them because they would really dry out my skin and make it hard to blend the foundation. This one does not, in fact it makes my skin feel very smooth and soft and helps prepare it for the next step. Another reason I love this product is because it’s a multitasker. Though you can certainly use it as a base, you can also apply it over your make up throughout the day to touch up and mattify. A total game changer for me since I’m not a huge fan of blotting sheets and this is a great alternative.

Double Wear Stay-in-Place Liquid Makeup – though I love this foundation for many reasons, one of my favorite thing about it is the buildable coverage. Yes, it does offer full coverage, yet you can easily sheer it out by adding a bit of liquid highlighter to get that glowy skin look or even mixing in a bit of your favorite moisturizer to tone it down to a very natural/sheer coverage that’s perfect for every day. I took this foundation with me on all my recent trips and it worked out really well! Natural coverage during the day and full coverage for night time and special events. The staying power of this foundation is very impressive as well which is another reason it’s been my favorite, especially for travel when I’m running around all day with no time to retouch my makeup. Aside from above, I absolutely love the shade range this foundation comes in – there is a shade for everyone!

Set + Refresh Perfecting Makeup Mist – to wrap up this 3 step routine, I set my face by spraying this mist all over the face once I’m completely done with my makeup. It doesn’t make me oily or shiny which I love and really helps blend all of the makeup into the skin which lends to a more natural and super smooth look. Aside from using it when finishing my makeup, I loved having the bottle with me on the plane to give my skin a slight hydration boost throughout those super long flights. Love that it’s oil free too!

Transparent Trench Coat

Trendy and functional, though I love trench coats in general it is the transparent version that got me really excited this season! Aside from the fact that they allow your outfit shine through, keep you looking stylish in rainy weather, they are actually quite versatile when it comes to styling! Great with casual and dressy items, I personally love them with cocktail dresses and heels because they add that edgy element to your evening wear and keep your outfit in full display. They are also equally relevant for daytime should you choose to trade in your classic trench for something a bit more trendy. Pair them with jeans, sweaters, turtlenecks and boots, basically whatever you would normally wear with a trench coat, for a slightly more modern approach to outerwear.

More reasons to love transparent trench coats – endless color combinations! Since they are in fact clear, you can wear them with absolutely anything and everything! Go for a classic black/white/clear PVC Chanel-inspired combo or wear them with neutrals and brights à la Fendi SS19, oh and they are great with neons as well!

On Trend: Houndstooth Print

Bold, beautiful and bright, honestly, I can’t think of a another print I like quite as much as I do houndstooth. Perfect print to wear for fall and winter, I particularly love the graphic statement it creates but also the way it pairs with bright colors. Though normally I stay away from brights come Fall, something about black/white/bright color combo feels season appropriate yet allows me to inject a bit of color into my fall/winter wardrobe.

Lately, the bright I’ve been playing with a lot is happy, sunny yellow ( last time seen here ). Aside from the fact that black, white, yellow color combo never fails to make a statement, I love the fact although this pairing definitely feels bold, there is a certain kind of polished sophistication about it. Basically, no matter how you wear it ( dressy, casual or something in between ) you will always look polished and pulled together. Love that!

As a makeup, skincare and body care addict/lover, I am constantly on a look out for the new and exciting products I can add to my existing routine. As a result, I try quite a few! Some of them leave me unimpressed, some are just so so, but every once in a while, I come across something truly amazing! Basically something that will eventually become that bottom of the jar, can’t live without staple I will use again and again. So, I’ve decided to carve out a bit of space on this site to share my weekly faves. Hope you enjoy!

Oribe Power Drops – love that these can be incorporated with products I already use or can just be used on their own. They are super concentrated so I don’t need to use much – I either mix 5 or so drops with my leave-in conditioner or use alone on damp hair. With all the travel lately, I needed to bring some life back into my hair and this product is doing the job! These drops come in 3 versions – damage repair, color preservation, and hydration/anti-pollution so you can pick whichever suits you most.

Guerlain Terracotta Sous les Palmiers Bronzing and Blush Powder – love love love the original Guerlain Terracotta bronzer but this oversized version is definitely a new favorite. A perfect blend of warmth and a little coral, it gives such a beautiful glow, it’s been my go-to product over the summer and I’m continuing with it into the fall season. After all, just because summer is over, doesn’t mean I don’t want that beautiful healthy glow anymore. Not to mention, the packaging is just so beautiful, and I love a product I can proudly display on my vanity.

Pat McGrath Labs Mothership V Eyeshadow Palette – I was extremely excited about Pat McGrath makeup in general and this eyeshadow palette was one of the main reasons behind why. I think the colors in this one are perfect for fall – you got your coppers, browns, and the most pigmented shimmers that glide on the lid like butter. I’ve created a few looks using this palette already, and I’m obsessed. These are some of the best eyeshadows I’ve tried by far – super pigmented, no fallout, and creamy formula that’s super easy to blend.

Pat McGrath Labs Lip Fetish Lip Balm – always on the lookout for new lip products, I had to give these lip balms a try. I’m pretty versatile with my lipsticks – I can wear matte, sheer, glossy, anything really, but on daily basis my go-to lip is a nude with a hint of coral and a satin/luminous finish. The Passion Flower shade has quickly become the lipstick I reach for the most. The formula is creamy and very moisturizing, the finish has just the right amount of gloss, and the shade is my perfect coral nude. Another favorite shade is Love Supreme for when I want to change it up a bit – it’s a cool toned rose color which complements my natural lip color really well.

Tom Ford Fougère d’Argent – absolutely love these new Tom Ford scents. I first discovered them on the Tom Ford beauty trip to the Hamptons in August and have been loving them ever since. They are unique and bold, I can’t wear either of these scents without people stopping me on the street to ask what I’m wearing.

Maison Christian Dior Perfumes

Have you ever noticed how a scent can instantly transport you to a time or a place, evoke a memory: perhaps something long forgotten from your childhood… I know that it’s certainly true for me and the smell of gingerbread will always take me back to Christmas back home in Riga baking cookies with my grandmother, and I will always associate lavender with my mother. It was one of her favorite scents and it makes me think of her whenever I come across it. Even more than that, I find that the right scent can transform and uplift my mood, and I think it is for all those reasons scent and especially fragrance play such an important role for me.

Though I am fairly loyal to my fragrances, every once in a while I come across something really special to add to my collection and my latest discovery is Happy Hour by Maison Christian Dior Perfumes. Though I think I’ve always loved fresh, slightly fruity, happy scents, this one in particular is absolutely divine. Carefree and sweet, there is something particularly light and fresh about the combination of Jasmine and Ylang Ylang. I don’t usually change my fragrance from day to night because to me, your scent is more of a signature and not an accessory, although for night, I often go a bit heavier and apply it right before I get out of the shower and just before I get dressed. Soft and famine, I love that Happy Hour wears well during the day and and night. It doesn’t overpower yet leaves a beautiful floral trail that follows you around everywhere you go…

What about you guys, what do you look for in your fragrance?

Sweater Weather – Knits to Buy Now

Can one really have too many sweaters? Personally, I think not! I mean, come Fall/Winter that’s practically what I live in. Comfortable and functional, the right knit will keep you warm and stylish throughout the season. Though I definitely have a few favorite styles, anything from an oversized fair isle, to a embellished cropped cardigan, the one style I add to my wardrobe every year is a sweater dress.

A perfect option to wear in the beginning of the season when it’s still relatively warm, I love the way sweater dresses look with knee-high boots or sneakers, yet equally relevant when it gets colder because you can simply layer them with skinny denim, tailored slacks or floor-length skirts.

Another reason, is their versatility of course. For the most part they are both day-time and night-time appropriate and can definitely shine at cocktail hour with the right accessories. I also love the fact that I can wear them to multiple occasions. I wear them to the office ( long coat, knee-high slouchy boots being my go-to combo at the moment ), to casual outings paired with flat boots or sneakers or even when I travel with sneakers and jeans ( I’m always cold on planes, so I make sure to wear a nice, warm knit to keep me cozy during the flight ).

Marc Jacobs Beauty – I’ve been rediscovering Marc Jacobs beauty products lately and honestly they’re so good! For today’s post I decided to narrow them down to two absolute favorites – the Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer Lipgloss in Shine a Light and See-quins Glam Glitter Eyeshadows in Flashlight and Topaz Flash. The lipgloss has been my favorite for some time now – perfect amount of shine and pigment, I love the way the Shine a Light shade adds a bit of sparkle and dimension to any lip color I’m wearing, yet looks just as pretty on its own. The other Marc Jacobs Beauty favorites are the glitter eyeshadows! Perfect option for that dramatic night-time eye look right now, I know they will also be in heavy rotation come Holiday season. Love that the shadows glide on the lid super smoothly and can be packed on for extreme pigment and glitter or applied lightly for just a bit of shine.

Tom Ford Soleil Contouring Compact – I have now been through two of these palettes and recently got my third one. I don’t typically go for a heavy contoured look and opt for a more natural sun-kissed skin and that’s exactly why I love this palette so much. The shades are very sheer and just enhance your natural features without being overbearing. The powders are an amazing consistency as well – they’re super smooth, fine, and feel slightly creamy (as opposed to chalky) which I love.

Tom Ford Soleil Blanc Shimmering Body Oil – love this body oil, it’s like summer in a bottle. It’s not super heavy or greasy, love this product for a special night out to add a bit of sparkle and glow to my look. Also, whenever I travel to a tropical destination, I always take this oil with me; it’s the best vacation glow especially after getting a bit of a tan (plus oil is great post sun exposure!). Aside from glow and sparkle, this product smells absolutely amazing – slightly floral and very fresh, it’s the perfect scent.

Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil – I feel like my hair always needs extra moisture so I’m a huge fan of hair oils and always on the lookout for new ones to try out. My latest favorite is the Gisou hair oil. It’s so rich and nourishing, I like to leave it in my hair as an overnight treatment – I can really tell the difference in my hair when I do, it’s softer, shinier, and more manageable the following day. I’ve also been using about a dime size amount on towel dried hair before styling – I feel like it really smoothes out the frizz for me. Another way to use it is to put it on your ends after styling to add a little shine. Love products that can multitask!

Annick Goutal Un Matin d’Orage fragrance – another scent I’ve been reaching for quite a bit lately. One of the things I look for when fragrance shopping is wearability and I love how this one is perfect for any occasion, day or night. This is one of those fragrances that develops throughout the day and plays on your skin, super fresh and floral, it’s great for anyone.

Go Bold with Your Prints & Boots this Fall

Dresses and boots, a perfect combination in every possible way, this fall, I’m definitely updating my collection of both with a few new bold favorites.

Since I tend to stick to solid colors when it comes to accessories and outerwear, printed dresses are always at the top of my shopping list for Fall. Love the way they break up the monotony of solid-colored outfits ( especially when I opt for tonal dressing ), bold prints never fail to add that wow factor to a look, and work well for day and night. When it comes to choosing the right print this season, I recommend going for something bolder and darker, i.e. a color scheme that would work well with Fall’s staple color palette. So, think caramels, rich browns, black, dark navy and burgundy.

Another addition – slouchy knee-high boots. Love this boot style because it works equally well with skirts and dresses, skinny jeans or even ( if you wanted to be just a bit more adventurous ) with this season’s must-have denim aka the high waited super baggy jeans. Literally, the one boot style you will practically live in this season, they can dress an outfit up or down depending on how you style them, and they look great with every style of coat imaginable ( especially love them with midi length coats ). Basically, they are bold, beautiful and stylish and in my opinion, a definite must-have this season.

P.S. Scroll down to see a few of my favorite dresses an boots at the moment.

Fall Must-Have: Pink Corduroy Suit

A big fan of suits in general, this season in particular, it is the pink corduroy version I just can’t seem to get enough of. Aside from the fact that I am always happy to see a bit of color for fall, pink pairs beautifully with Fall’s signature palette ( think burgundy, caramel and cream ), not to mention the fact that this soft shade is universally flattering and makes for a great alternative to the usual work-wear staples.

Easy to wear, and easy to style, since this is the year of the sneaker, suit/sneaker pairing is definitely one of my personal favorites at the moment, though I am equally attracted to the way it looks with boots, and dressier shoe styles like mules and pumps for night. Great together and separately, the particular suit I am wearing in this post has become a bit of constant as of late, because I  love jeans/blazer pairing and slouchy knit/mid-length coat/straight leg trousers combo. Basically, sky is the limit when it comes to styling this trendy staple, and of course you know how much I love that!

Here we again again, this week’s latest and greatest! At this point in time I am just trying to cover all of my current favorites, but if you guys have specific questions or want to hear more about make up, skin care, or body care just leave me a note in comments below!

Ole Henriksen Balance It All Essentials Set – you guys know by now that I have oily/combination skin so I’m always on the lookout for skincare to help me battle the oiliness. Most of the products I’ve tried either do very little, or way too much and dry out my skin. Before the last Paris Fashion Week, I was shopping at Sephora and came across this set. It was travel friendly and included a face wash, toner, and moisturizer, so I thought it would be perfect to take on a trip with me and test it out. I ended up loving it! The products work together and help tone down my oiliness without making my skin feel dry. Definitely purchasing full size of these once I run out.

Pursoma Detox Beauty Body Brush – I am a big fan of dry brushing. I try to do it at least a couple of times a week – exfoliation is really important, not to mention that dry brushing helps to improve circulation ( something that I definitely need help with since I tend to spend a lot of time sitting down at my computer ). I typically do it before taking a shower and move the brush in circular motion starting with feet and working my way up. I recently got this particular brush and love the bristles on it – not too rough but not too soft and comfortable to hold. It’s perfect if you want to give dry brushing a try!

Ren AHA Smart Renew Body Serum – have been loving this serum lately. It’s super moisturizing yet very light and absorbs really quickly. I tend to have dry skin around my knees, and elbows and just drier skin in general when I forget to drink enough water and this product helps me battle the aftermath. Love how gently it exfoliates ( some products I’ve tried before were really rough ) but this one works over time and you really notice the difference with consistent use. I think this serum in combination with dry brushing has made a huge difference in my skin – so much smoother and softer.

Tom Ford Lipsticks – I really can’t say enough about Tom Ford lipsticks. I truly think they are one of the absolute best that are out there. No matter the finish, whether it’s matte, creamy, satin, you name it, the result is always amazing. I naturally gravitate towards coral shades so these 3 are some of my favorite at the moment – Kendrick, Li, and Jagger.

Guerlain Terracotta Le Parfum Fragrance – I am such a perfume junkie! I have so many different scents and I love to change it up all the time. So this week I want to mention another one of my favorites. This fragrance is a perfect day time scent – it’s very light and fresh with a vanilla base so it’s a little sweet but not at all overbearing. It’s definitely a favorite among the girls in the office too – they all got hooked on it after me!

Gloss, Matte or Sheer: Find the Right Red Lipstick for You

Though I’ve always been a fan of a bright red pout, it isn’t until recently that I truly started to experiment with different textures and finishes. Personally I love them all, though I tend to gravitate to matte or sheer red for day and gloss for night, what I love about the Tom Ford range of lip products in particular, is a wide variety of finishes and subtle shade variations that make it easier than ever to find the perfect red for you.

If you’re just starting to wear red, I suggest opting for a sheer finish, it’s definitely a more subtle way to wear red, yet the flash of red on your lips still pulls your make up and look together unlike anything else. Matte red offers that very dramatic look, I actually like to wear it with some of my more casual outfits for a touch of polish and sophistication. Red gloss is my evening make-up staple, what I love about it so much is the fact that I’m able to keep the rest of your make-up fairly subtle since red gloss makes such a strong impact. This single focal point creates a very strong look perfect for pairing with anything from little black dresses to dramatic evening gowns.

Tom Ford Ultra Shine Lipgloss in Lost Cherry – absolutely love these TF lip glosses. First thing I look for when buying a gloss is color payoff and staying power, but I find that consistency and feel on the lips are also really important since I hate anything sticky and goopy. This gloss is basically the best in all possible ways – consistency is amazing, super lightweight and non-sticky yet so rich in color and it lasts. You truly get ultra shine with these so if you’re looking for a really glossy red lip, this one is perfect.

Tom Ford Satin Matte Lip Color in La Woman – love the satin matte formula that TF came up with. It truly speaks to its name, and these lipsticks have such a beautiful matte finish yet feel very creamy on the lips unlike most matte lipsticks I’ve tried before. They are extremely pigmented so one swipe is pretty much all you need to get all the color payoff that lasts for hours. I hadn’t been a fan of a matte lip until I tried this formula out!

Tom Ford Lip Color Matte in Armie – another great formula from TF: super pigmented, long lasting, and comfortable to wear. This shade comes from the Boys and Girls collection so these are smaller sized lipsticks making them perfect to throw in your bag! Because the pigment on these is so good, they will last you a really long time despite the smaller size.

Tom Ford Eye Gloss – I had been looking for a product like this for some time and finally someone came up with it. I absolutely love a glossy, shimmery, or sparkly lid and I can typically achieve the latter two with eyeshadow, but I’ve struggled to get the glossy look until I got this product. It’s basically just like clear lipgloss but for your eyes – the applicator makes it super easy to apply and it’s not sticky. I like to wear it alone for a “wet” eyelid look or glide it over eyeshadow.

Fall Favorite: Leather Shorts & Slouchy Boots

I don’t think I realized the full potential of a good pair of leather shorts until now! A perfect little addition to your wardrobe, love them for their versatility and for their wear year round quality. While it is still pretty warm in LA, I like to wear them with a cool knit and boots, but I know they will look just as great when it gets colder paired with tights, knee-high boots and a midi coat. Another reason to love them? They are good for day and night! Leather in general I think is pretty easy to dress up and down. For day, I like to wear them with a tucked in sweatshirt ( living for this cropped teal sweatshirt right now ) and utility boots, but for night, they look really polished and sophisticated when you opt for a dressier top ( lacy blouses being my go-to top at the moment ) and heeled boots.

P.S. The sweater I am wearing in this post is sadly sold out, but I found a few great similar options ( are you guys crazy about this color as well, or is it just me? ) as well as cute leather shorts in various fits and lengths. Scroll down to see more!

Jewelry Pieces to Buy Now

Chunky Chains – this fall, bracelets and necklaces made from chunky linked chains are having a moment. It’s without a doubt a big change from those “barely there” necklaces we’ve been seeing quite a bit in the past. Bigger, bolder and much more noticeable, these pieces are definitely what I would call statement-makers so I’ve been wearing them with more casual outfits for a nice balance. I love pairing denim, plain cropped t-shirt, and one of these chain necklaces to add some drama to my look.

Pendants – I have been obsessed with pendants for some time now, I’m sure you guys have noticed! Amazing layering pieces, wearing several pendants in deferent sizes and textures is one of the easiest ways to add some drama to your look. Coin necklaces are my particular favorites – I like wearing a couple of them layered with a dainty choker and perhaps a chunkier piece or a chain. Mixing and matching and playing around with different necklaces creates a really cool textured look. Also it’s easy to switch things up and create a new look so you never really get bored!

Pearls – never out of style, pearls are definitely that perfect classic staple that you will have and wear for years. Love the way pearls add a very polished element to any evening look, they also wear really well with some of the more casual items and add that perfect special touch to your everyday staples. What I am really loving this season is seeing pearls in chunkier, edgier settings which gives this classic staple a totally different appeal and a much more modern look.

Pinky Rings – loving the pinky ring trend at the moment! Again, a big step from dainty layered ring look that we’ve been loving (not to say you can’t combine both trends!). Love that there are so many options that are monogrammed – I don’t know about you guys, but I love adding a personal touch to my jewelry. Pinky rings have been around for centuries, and I’m so glad they have been making a major comeback in the fashion world.

Hoop Earrings – I think most of us love our hoop earrings. Lately, I’ve been gravitating towards hoop earrings with a twist – love the two pairs pictured in this post. Obsessed with the uneven/bent metal look and lion heads hanging off of the other ones. It’s so exciting when classic pieces get a new twist – you’re still wearing your favorite style but with a little touch of something new and different. It feels like a breath of fresh air! I think hoop earrings are super universal and so flattering on everyone, love how they are able to shape your face and love all the new variations of them out now.

In the Trenches

Every year I wait for trench coat weather, which in LA, doesn’t usually happen until late Fall ( if that ), so whenever I get to take my favorite fall topper option for a spin, I’m a happy girl indeed! This year in particular, I’m kinda crazy about suede trench coats ( love this one here )! Love the texture and richness they add to an outfit, a trench is definitely a time-tested classic, yet somehow every season it feels fresh and new. The one I’m wearing in today’s post is about 3 years old, yet it remains one of my favorite coats of all time! Love it with jeans and ankle boots, skinny pants and over-the-knee boots, this year, I love that trench coat over a slip dress look! Good for day or night, there is something very relaxed yet elegant about this pairing. Personally, I like to wear this combo with boots, but I think it works just as well with sneakers for day or heels for cocktail hour.

The One Blazer Style You Will Wear Again & Again

What is it about that slightly slouchy, borrowed from the boys, just below the hip blazer that makes it so darn wearable… To me, it’s really a combination of versatility, flattering fit and timelessness that makes this particular style of jacket numero uno item on my must-have list. Great with jeans ( and I mean any style of jeans, i.e. skinnies, flares and of course cropped styles we’re seeing so much this season ) yet equally perfect with skirts and dresses. Really, there is absolutely nothing you couldn’t wear with this type of blazer which is why it is such a welcome addition to my wardrobe season to season.

This year, it’s been all about check prints for me. Easy to wear, I love the way this print breaks up the monotony of solid colors. For example, if you tend to wear a lot of black, adding a check blazer is a great way to inject a bit of variety into your outfits without stepping out of your comfort zone too much. I mean, classic check prints like black, white, red combo or browns, burgundies and creams are extremely easy to pair with just about any solid color and of course these color pairing never go out of style, so you’ll definitely keep and love this blazer for years to come.

What scents are you loving at the moment? Below are a few I’m loving at the moment and the fact that they all hail from my favorite place in the world is just an added bonus!

Guerlain Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum – I’m big fan of Guerlain in general and especially their fragrances. I discovered Mon Guerlain on a trip to Provence in the summer 2017 (click here for blog posts I did about the trip), and I’ve been using this fragrance ever since. It’s strong yet feminine, I absolutely love it.

Aqua Allegoria Rosa Rossa Fragrance – another Guerlain favorite. I’ve been into rose scents for a while now so I pretty much get my hands on any fragrance with “rose” in the name! This one did not disappoint either. It’s floral, citrusy, and very fresh making it a great scent for the day. Aside from above the bottle is just so pretty, I love having it on my vanity.

Dior Joy by Dior Eau de Parfum and Christian Dior Happy Hour Fragrance – I discovered Joy by Dior on my recent trip to Paris for fashion week. this one is definitely different from most of the other Dior fragrances, but it was still love at first spritz for me. It’s another floral and citrusy smell making it light so I typically wear it during the day. Love the simplicity of the bottle too. I love the Happy Hour fragrance so much, I dedicated a blog post to it which you can find here. But the short of it, it’s a great scent for day and night, it’s sweet and fruity yet still very fresh. It’s one of those you can’t really go wrong with.

Byredo Rose of No Man’s Land Eau de Parfum – okay so like I said before, I get my hands on any rose scent I can find, so of course I had to have this one. This is definitely the most unique rose scent I’ve tried, it nothing like the others. It’s definitely rich and full bodied and more of a musky rose with a little spice to it. It’s super unique for sure and such a multi dimensional scent. I’m already on my second bottle of this!

Goutal Paris Rose Pompon Eau de Parfum and Un Matin D’Orage Eau de Parfum – another rose favorite! Such an amazing scent to wear on its own or layer with another fragrance. This one is more like a typical rose scent that I’m used to and I love it. Lately I’ve been liking a lot of scents from Goutal so I’m happy to add this one to my collection.

Fringe Benefits

Leather and fringe, definitely one of my favorite combos, this season in particular, this dynamic duo seems to be having a moment and I couldn’t be happier! Love it for day, love the fact that fringe for evening is one of the hottest trends right now, love the way fringed clothing adds a bit of interest and texture to an outfit, yet love it just the same when it comes to accessories! I mean… fringed gloves, bags, oh and fringed earrings of course! So cool with chunky knits and blanket coats! Basically I could go on and on talking about it, but fact is fringe is easier than ever to wear and you’ll love the way it adds a bit of drama to your look!

Tom Ford Lip Color Matte (pictured here in Velvet Cherry and Black Dahlia) – always a fan of Tom Ford lipsticks, I love the matte shades in particular because they are absolutely perfect for the Holiday season (dramatic lip color for cocktail hour is definitely the trend this season). The colors are gorgeous, the staying power is amazing, and the beautiful packaging definitely makes these my favorite stocking stuffers!

Tom Ford Lost Cherry – sexy yet elegant, this fresh playful scent is what I’ve been wearing quite a bit lately and have been getting complements every time I do! Beautiful fragrance and gorgeous bottle (I mean… can we talk about season appropriate), Lost Cherry is a must-have for any of your perfume-obsessed girl-friends or anyone really because I am yet to meet a person who doesn’t like it!

I’ve been a fan of Pat McGrath work for as long as I remember. Naturally, when I found out she is finally rolling out her own make-up line I couldn’t wait to try it! Verdict: simply the best eye palette I’ve ever had or used! The colors are insane, and so is the staying power, oh… and the variety of looks you can create is pretty much endless! The eye palette pictured above (Mothership V Eyeshadow Palette – Bronze Seduction) is my current favorite. An absolute must-have for Holiday season, it’s fun to play around with these dramatic shades to step up your Holiday beauty game which is why all the make-up lovers in my family are getting one of these!

Dior Diorific Matte Velvet Color Lipstick (pictured in shades Desireable, Triumphante, Lovely, and Audacieuse) – another current obsession and my go-to stocking stuffer this year! The color payoff is incredible, the shades are super rich, creamy and dramatic, the packaging is elegant and luxe, which is exactly why these are a must-have this Holiday season!

There are many reasons why I think skincare products make a perfect gift, but the most important one is that taking care of yourself and your skin allows you that time to unwind and pamper, and take a break from life’s crazy moments. This year, one of my personal skin-care favorites is Dior Prestige Le Sucre de Gommage. I’ve talked about the importance of gentle exfoliation on this blog quite a few times and this amazingly indulgent scrub will leave your skin feeling soft and smooth, but never dry or dehydrated! Love that!

I discovered JOY by Dior Eau de Parfum on a recent trip to Paris and it was love at first sight so to speak! Light, fresh, fruity, and happy, you really can’t help but feel joyful whenever you wear it!

I never travel without these 2 make-up products in my bag! I mean it! Dior DreamSkin Fresh & Perfect Cushion keeps your skin hydrated and looking flawless and Addict Lip Maximizer plumps your lips (typically I use it either under lipsticks or on it’s own) while keeping them smooth and hydrated!

Dior Long Wear Nail Lacquer– favorite colors of the season, lately I’ve been into matching my nail and lipstick colors and these tend to pair perfectly with Dior Diorific Matte Velvet Color Lipstick. Another reason to love them? They actually last, and I don’t know about you guys, but I rarely have the time to re-do my nail color every few days during the busy Holiday season!

Though I will definitely do a separate jewelry favorites gifting post, I couldn’t imagine this post without at least mentioning statement earrings! A huge trend this season, if you’re going to wear and gift one piece of jewelry – statement earrings will be it! Wear with everything and everywhere, they’ve become a bit of a staple as of late. Love them with cocktail dresses and chunky knits alike, they make a perfect gift for all the girls in your family! I know I certainly have my eye on a few pairs!

Holiday Dresses for Every Occasion

What is it about a black dress that makes it so elegant, timeless and relevant season to season? Whatever it is though, come Holiday season, black dresses is what I tend to stock up on the most. Easy to style, the right black dress never fails to make an impression, this season in particular, offers a slew of gorgeous styles to choose from perfect for any occasion!

Personally, I live for a little embellishment when it comes to black dresses. Beading, interesting cut or shape, fringe, lace, basically  anything that helps add a bit of drama to this Holiday staple. Another way I like to add drama when I opt for black is via accessories. A pop of color ( think bright red pumps for example or a jewel-toned clutch ) helps to create an interesting focal point, though I also love the way black pairs with metallic accents. Yet another reason to love black for Holidays, is because it allows you to amp up your make-up game and go for something bolder and brighter. For example, I often play up my eye color when I wear all black ( especially love jewel tones or metallic lids ) or go for a pop of color with my lip color ( though in the past I’ve often went with classic red, lately I’m really loving bright pink ). Essentially, there are endless ways to style a black dress and I think that is exactly why it is such a must-have for the Holiday season!
