No matter how crazy our schedule gets, whenever we’re in Paris, we always try to carve out some time to do a few things we truly enjoy and a breakfast at a Parisian cafe happens to be one of our favorite indulgences.

Although I am always very happy to be in Paris, this time around we were especially lucky because the weather was absolutely beautiful for the entire week we were there! Sunny and warm, it was exactly the kind of weather I always hope for when I go to Paris! Basically the kind of weather that makes you enjoy all you favorite Parisian guilty pleasures just a bit more. And so we did,   every chance we got! We drank as much coffee as we possibly could, and we tried our Parisian favorite – freshly baked croissants at as many places as we could, and we shopped till we dropped, and walked the streets of old Paris util it felt like we couldn’t walk anymore, and yet we did, because every turn revealed beautiful hidden little corners, wonderful shops and cutest little bakeries.

Back in LA now, but missing Paris like crazy! Can’t help but plan our next visit, and so, I wanted to take this chance to ask you guys what are some our your favorite places in Paris? Any hidden treasures you want to share?

A Peek Inside My Closet

I don’t know about you guys, but watching a favorite show at the end of a busy day has always been a guilty pleasure of mine, and shows that center around the world of fashion, and ultra-luxurious wardrobes and lifestyles, have always been my particular favorite. This brings me to the exciting news I have to share with you guys! On October 11 The CW is premiering a new series –  Dynasty. If like myself, you’re seeking a bit of sartorial inspiration and a peek inside the fabulous lives and closets of the fashion elite, you’ll definitely love this show!

This of course got me thinking that I’ve never really given you all a proper tour of my own closet, so I thought it might be fun to give you a peek inside and share some of my favorite items and prized possessions.

If you’ve been following for a while you probably already know that my style is largely influenced by the places where I lived. I was born in Latvia, later on my family and I moved to Canada, and finally a few years ago I moved to LA. Each of those places certainly played a role in how I dress and style my outfits. As a Canadian girl living in LA, I have a soft spot for casual pieces and outfits, but the European in me will always reach for a fabulous pair of heels or a statement accessory to dress up a casual look.

As much as I love clothes, it is accessories that I get excited about the most! I love adding a very sophisticated piece, like a velvet choker or a pair of embellished heels to very casual every day separates like jeans and t-shirts. My go-to statement accessories at the moment are a leather beret from Gucci and a vintage chain necklace from Chanel.

Shoes happen to be my particular obsession!  At any particular point in time there are at least 5 pairs of shoes that I’m thinking of adding to my collection. Not sure what it is really, but I simply can’t resist a great pair of heels! Though it’s hard to name my absolute favorite pair of heels at the moment ( they are all so different, I love them all for different reasons ) but I suppose my J’Adior velvet pumps is the pair I am particularly in love with at the moment. Velvet is huge this season, and I simply adore the way these Dior heels add an instant touch of glamour to any look. Another favorite, my pale-pink satin Miu Miu mules. So good with any evening look, and I also love wearing them with casual pieces like jeans and t-shirt whenever I feel the need to dress up a casual outfit.

Bags are the other love of my life! In my opinion nothing adds polish and sophistication to an outfit quite like a good bag does. Whenever I decide to add a bag to my collection, the first question I ask myself is whether I can see it styled in a multitude of ways and worn with many different types of outfits. Though I still get a few misses here and there, for the most part, all the bags in my closet are incredibly versatile. Some of my absolute favorites are my Chanel Gabrielle bag and the Louis Vuitton Petit Malle clutch, which both made numerous appearances on this blog precisely because I could wear them with just about everything! Love that!

As far as clothes are concerned, I love really luxurious vintage pieces. I believe in splurging on items that have longevity. I got my first vintage Chanel blazer about 5 years ago, and it looks just as relevant today as the day I got it. Yet, I do not usually invest in things like everyday tops, denim, and certain accessories, like sunglasses for example, since a lot of times these are seasonal items. I believe in investing in pieces I will wear again and again, year after year, or key accessories because a lot of times they are what keeps an outfit current and of the moment. As for the rest, I definitely prefer to save on items I need to update every season.

A few years ago, I heard the term “shop your own closet” and it virtually changed the way I organize things. Aside from cleaning my closet out regularly, at least every season, my golden rule is to keep things that I absolutely love. So, if something has been out of rotation for a few months, I discard it without mercy.

I also believe in a well-organized closet. Keeping things neat and tidy helps me find what it is that I’m looking for quickly, but also makes the process of styling an outfit an absolute pleasure. Generally speaking, I like to organize items by color and category ( dresses with dresses, tops with tops, etc.). I also love adding a few pretty touches here and there, like fresh flowers, a pretty painting, a beautiful jewelry box. These small little details make the world of difference to me, and I can tell you that now, I enjoy “shopping my own closet” a lot more than I used to! How about you guys, what are some of your favorite pieces and how do you like to organize your closet?

P.S. Don’t forget to watch the series premiere of Dynasty on October 11 at 9/8C on The CW! I know I’ll be tuning in.

White Chic

Hi Everyone! Today, I wanted to share yet another look featuring what is probably one my favorite trends at the moment — white accessories! A huge fan of white shoes and bags in general, I am particularly happy to see this normally a very summery trend take flight for Fall/Winter. Because I always felt that white accents add a certain pop of chic to an outfit, and help make Fall’s darker/richer color palette a bit bright and happier.

Take today’s outfit for example, though it certainly could have worked with black boots, a pair of white ones, brings a little something special to this outfit and also, I think makes it just a tad more dressy.

The particular pair from Laurence Dacade I am wearing in today’s look, is my favorite pair of the moment. Why? Well, I am sure you guessed it by now! Because they work with absolutely everything, no exceptions. I have worn them with just about everything — from jeans and denim skirts, to cocktail dresses and tailored slacks, and so far, they never failed to add a very chic element to an outfit. Basically, one of the most versatile pairs of boots I currently have in my closet, so I hope you won’t mind seeing more of them in the near future!

Velvet Crush

Good morning, everyone! Today, I wanted to share a previously unpublished look I shot in NYC, which just happens to include yet another one of my favorite trends as of late—velvet! Velvet dresses, tops, boots, bags, I mean I love it all! I definitely loved wearing blush toned velvet pieces over the summer, but as we are transitioning to fall, I simply can’t get enough of darker and richer shades of velvet.

I know that we’re just half way through October, but I can’t help and think about my wardrobe for the holiday season. I think velvet dresses with interesting details are going to be a hit! I’m absolutely obsessed with the one I’m wearing in today’s post. It’s a perfect cocktail dress for the evening, but also such a good Holiday piece; I can’t wait to wear it again! The embellishments throughout the piece really dress it up and bring it to the next level.

Since I wanted to keep the focus on the dress, I decided to go with black accessories. Instead of going for the usual sandal or pump, I opted to wear a pair of thigh high boots. I love how the boots are just about meeting the dress and there’s not much leg showing, I think that’s key when wearing thigh high boots with a cocktail dress. For the bag, I decided to go with velvet to match the dress. I’m absolutely obsessed with this one! It’s so versatile and works so well as an evening bag but also perfect with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.

Denim & Pearls

Although it has been very hot here in Los Angeles, our recent trip to cooler San Francisco got me thinking that like it or not, fall is here, which means it is time to stock up on transitional pieces. So in today’s post, I wanted to reiterate my love for denim jackets ( especially embellished ones ) and make my case for why they are my favorite summer to fall staple.

A denim jacket has been a staple in my closet for the longest time. It’s a piece that I reach for quite frequently and especially so during this time of the year. Going from summer to fall in LA means that it’s quite warm during the day but gets very chilly at night, and that’s where denim jackets come into play! So good over pretty much everything imaginable from dresses to sweaters, cute with skirts and boots, yet equally appealing with leather pants, sweat pants and of course khakis, what I look for in a denim jacket is fit and that special something something that makes a plain denim jacket a bit of a show stopper.

Currently, that it factor I can’t seem to get enough of is pearls. I mean who would have thought that casual denim and classic pearls would be so compelling together and yet they work. This particular combination of dressed up and casual complements each other in the most perfect way and makes this denim closet staple feel fresh and new again.

The jacket I’m wearing in today’s post though is probably my favorite denim jacket of all time. I absolutely love the wash, fit, and the pearl detailing throughout. For today’s casual look, I paired it with white sneakers and slightly slouchy khaki pants. I wanted to be comfortable since we were out and about exploring San Francisco, so I love how this jacket brought a little something special to the look without sacrificing my comfort.

How about you guys, are you also obsessed with denim and pearls at the moment?

Dark Magic

Had one of the most profound “Girl meets dress” moments in recent history. I just knew, I knew as soon as this dress and I met, that this was going to be a lasting relationship… I mean, perfect in every possible way, I find myself so obsessed at the moment, I look for places and reasons to wear it again and again.

So far, the magic number is 3 – to dinner with my hubby, cocktails hour with a few girlfriends and to a evening event I attended recently, but… I am only getting started. Something about this particular dress is pure magic, and it’s not just about the crazy beautiful embellishment on sleeves and neckline, or the cut and flow, I’d say it’s more about how I feel when I wear it, and when it comes to clothes, feeling the best you possibly can is what I always strive for.

What about you guys, do you have that one magic piece in your closet that always makes you feel special?

Malibu Moment

Took me a while, but I am slowly beginning to accept the fact that LA is not done with summer quite yet. I mean it’s hard to argue with a heat wave, which we’ve been enjoying this past week. Normally, when it gets this hot in LA, hubby and I head straight for Malibu, because it tends to be a good deal cooler than the rest of the city. And so on Tuesday, we decided that we couldn’t take the heat any longer, and rented a place in Malibu to spend a few days doing all the things we love best, i.e. tanning, swimming and dining at our favorite local restaurants.

Funny, but we’ve been traveling so much this year, that we haven’t had the time to go to the beach in LA or visit our old favorite – Malibu Country Mart, which we used to frequent a lot! To me, it’s such a perfect place to wander around, grab a quick lunch, and do some shopping. It has a really great selection of stores, everything from clothing, beauty and accessories, but I particularly love  the home decor ones since they tend to offer unique pieces I can’t find anywhere else, so I can never resist getting a few cute things for the house.

We’ve wrapped up our Malibu escape with a beach picnic. I always wanted to have one of those but somehow never got around to it, so this time Emil and I decided to go for it. It was nothing fancy, just some delicious bites, good wine and perfectly pink sunset. Basically, it was perfect in every possible way!

How to Dress Down Metallics for Day

$

Of all the fashion trends coming in for Fall/Winter 17, metallics are my favorite by far. So fun to play around with, they are obviously a great option for night, but lately, I’ve been really feeling them as part of my more casual, day-time looks. First, they add that fun little element that makes casual looks feel a bit more special, but also, they do a great job elevating those super easy-going ensembles to the next level.

My trick to wearing metallics for day is rather simple – make that metallic piece the focal point of your look, and keep the rest of your outfit casual and understated. Take today’s outfit for example, I got this rad Proenza Schouler skirt to wear to a friends cocktail party. Since it was a rather formal event, I dressed it up with strappy heels and a ruffled blouse. Yet, because I am completely and totally obsessed with it and feel like wearing it non-stop all day, everyday, I wanted to find a way I could wear it during the day without looking too dressed up.

For today’s look, I opted to pair it with a chunky gray knit and a pair of knee-high suede boots, but I also love the way it looks with denim jackets, oversized sweatshirts and sneakers, and soft coats and ankle boots. Basically, it works amazingly well with most casual separates yet adds just the right amount of drama to a casual look, and I don’t know about you guys, but when it comes to clothing, a little drama is always good!

Checks Please:: The One PatternYou Need in You Closet Now

If I had to choose a single pattern to wear this season, checks would definitely be it! Aside from being one of the biggest trends this season, the reason I am particularly fond of this print is because it’s extremely versatile but also, because it brings an effortlessly cool vibe to an outfit. Great with just about anything and everything, it’s the perfect middle between casual and sophisticated, which is why it works so well with both casual and dressier pieces, and is equally relevant for day and night.

Though I am obviously a huge fan of the classic black and white checkered pattern ( last seen here & here ), what I love about this season in particular is the fact that we are seeing this print in a great variation of colors, and the Raquel Allegra Macintosh Trench Coat I am wearing in today’s post is a great example of that.

Though my love for trench coats runs very deep in general, the one I am wearing in this post is definitely a favorite at the moment.   First and foremost: COLOR, COLOR, COLOR!!!! I absolutely adore the combination of white, soft blue, and red, because it tends to look amazing with denim but also white accessories, which just happen to be rather big news this season. Another reason – something about a soft trench always gets to me, maybe because it feels so cozy and comfortable, maybe because it looks so effortlessly cool, or maybe, and this is the most likely scenario, it’s the combination of both. Basically, a winning combination – comfortable, stylish, and effortlessly chic, I mean, what else can I ask for!

A Shirt Story

Shirt dresses happen to be a big yes for me in general, but this particular one from Marques’ Almeida, is just something magical. Love at first sight, I just couldn’t help but fall for that asymmetric raw cut hem, stud accents, and pretty color, which make this easy, breezy, very comfortable number a perfect piece for day, night and everything in between.

So good with a pair of heels for that dressier feel, for today’s look I choose to wear it with a belt, but it has a rather nice flow to it without it, and pairs quite well with sneakers or casual ankle boots for day. Another chameleon-like quality I love about it, is the fact that while it is not quite sweater weather in LA yet, once we actually get there ( I wonder when that will be, cause I got cute sweaters & coats I am dying to wear ) I am fully planning on wearing it with skinny jeans and fitted blazers. So, a perfect transitional piece as well!

What about you guys, what are some of your transitional weather faves?

Skin So Good You Don’t Need Foundation ft VENN Skincare

I said it before, and I will say it again: I don’t like wearing foundation! Aside from the fact that it took me a really long time to find one that blends with my skin and isn’t obvious, somehow I still feel like I have a mask on whenever I wear one. I do of course wear foundation on a regular basis, as we shoot practically everyday and wearing one on camera is rather a necessity. But on my days off, foundation-free is what I opt for. A bit of eye-liner, some mascara and chapstick, and I am good to go!

The simple trick behind going foundation-free is proper skincare and the right products. Pair it with a proper diet and exercise and your skin will be sure to thank you (I can’t even begin to tell you how much my skin improved once I introduced more fruits and vegetables into my diet and started running on regular basis). What I mean when I say proper skincare is consistency. Once you get your skin-care routine down, follow it on regular basis. It took me some time to get it right, but now, I never skip my morning or evening routine, no matter what! And it makes all the difference.

The right products are important too. I happen to be skin-care obsessed and pressed for time, so I am always looking for multi-taskers to simplify my beauty ritual. And lately, the one magic skincare product I can’t do without is VENN’s Age-Reversing All-In-Concentrate.

What I like about this particular product is the fact that it seriously cuts down my prep time in the morning and evening by removing the need for additional steps like toner, serum and essence. I apply 2-3 pumps of VENN to a cleansed face twice daily and simply follow up with my SPF.

This age-reversing concentrate uses premium plant-based ingredients, keeps my skin nice and hydrated, and improves signs of aging like lines and wrinkles. I know that I mentioned that I have a few discoloration marks on my cheeks thanks to my sun-worshiping ways, and they have become a lot less noticeable lately, thanks to VENN.

Now on my days off, my makeup takes no time at all. I simply cleanse my face, add a bit of eye makeup to brighten the face, some creamy lip color and finish by applying VENN all over the skin to achieve that glowy look and keep my skin soft and hydrated throughout the day. Basically, I’m ready and out the door in less than 5 minutes. Love that!

P.S. You can get VENN on VENNskincare.com and, for launch, VENN is offering a complimentary trial size while supplies last. Head over to @VENNskincare on Instagram for details.

Special thank you to VENN for partnering with me on this post.

Staycation Guide to Santa Barbara

If you read my blog on the regular, you probably already know that there is absolutely nothing I love better than a good staycation. A quick little trip to clear your mind, get away from it all, and a chance to indulge in all the things you love best, I mean, what’s not to like about that. Well, after a few crazy weeks in LA, Emil and I woke one one morning and decided we needed a break. So, we packed our weekenders and headed to Santa Barbara, otherwise known as our go-to place for a quick yet always very relaxing mini vacation.

Why Santa Barbara? Well, the city is beautiful, but I think what we love best about it, is that we keep discovering new, amazing places and things to love every time we visit. And so, without further ado, here is our guide to a perfect Santa Barbara staycation.

Where to Stay: Though we’ve stayed in many hotels in Santa Barbara, The Californian is hands down our absolute favorite. Newly remodeled, the property is just gorgeous, the food is delicious ( I don’t know about you guys, but I can’t imagine a proper staycation without breakfast in bed experience ), and the spa is amazing. I am a bit more than partial to a good body scrub ( first of all, it’s relaxing but also, your skin feels like silk afterwords, so a win win kinda situation ) and the citrus body scrub at Majorelle spa was easily one of the best I’ve ever had.

Where to Eat: We love the Lucky Penny. First time we went there which was a coupe of years ago, we walked in simply because we loved the decor, but what kept us coming back again and again is the food! Our all time favorites include The Lucky Margheritta pizza, the pulled pork sandwich and quinoa and arugula salad, oh, and their frozé ( frozen rosé ) is absolutely delicious!!!!

What to Do: Anything and everything! Santa Barbara is a great walking city, so normally when we get there I put on my most comfortable pair of shoes and we spend the whole day exploring! Some of our faves include the Funk Zone, a district which houses some of the best restaurants, tasting rooms, galleries and boutique shops in Santa Barbara. Another must, a walk on the pier during sunset, the experience is absolutely magical, and if you get lucky, which we definitely did this time around, you may catch one of the most beautiful lavender-pink sunsets you’ve ever experienced. Basically, there are so many things to do and see in Santa Barbara, we always leave with a game plan for next time, which is one of the reasons why we keep coming back again and again!

Pretty Little Things

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you probably already know that when it comes to jewelry, my motto is the more the merrier! A big fan of jewelry in general, I love the way it transforms the most casual outfits into polished and sophisticated ensembles and adds that perfect finishing touch to any night-time look! This statement rings especially true as we head into Holiday season.

Not unlike everything else I have in my closet, when it comes to jewelry, versatility is what I look for the most. I like pieces that add that something extra to my day-time outfits, yet wear just as well with cocktail dresses and evening gowns. And as of late, the pieces that seem to pair absolutely flawlessly with all my casual and dressy ensembles are the ones I’ve picked up from AUrate jewelry a few weeks ago. You may already know, that pearls happen to be a particular weakness of mine, but the main reason I am completely obsessed with the pieces I am wearing in today’s post is because I feel they are feminine and glamorous yet edgy, modern and slightly rebellious at the same time. Yet another reason I love them so much is because I am such a big fan of layering jewelry and these particular pieces look great worn separately or combined together for a more dramatic look. And I don’t know about you guys, but when it comes to jewelry, dramatic always wins in my book! Last but certainly not least, is the fact that I’ve worn them with jeans and t-shirts, and cocktail dresses alike, and somehow they never fail to complete every look in the most magical of ways, which is the reason why they’ve been in such heavy rotation lately!

A perfect gift to any fashionista in your family ( I know I’ll be gifting all the girls in my family a few of these pretty, dainty pieces ), I think that there is really nothing quite like a gift of sparkle to set the mood for the Holiday season. So, if not unlike myself you like to get on top of Holiday shopping early, I would definitely consider stocking up on a few of these, for yourself and your loved ones!

Classic Combo :: Leather & Tweed

Of all the timeless pairing out there, leather and tweed has to be my absolute favorite combination of all time. Classic yet modern, elegant yet slightly edgy, it works great for day but never fails to impress as a night-time option. Another reason I keep coming back to this combo again and again is because it always feels modern, fresh and new, and this season especially, thanks to updated silhouettes and fit.

The lace-up leather pants I am sporting in today’s look are a recent find but already a favorite thanks to a slightly looser fit, cropped length and of course the detailing on the side. Love them because they look great with pretty much any casual shoe option imaginable, yet work so very well with ankle boots when I choose to dress them up a bit.

The beautiful tweed melange jacket is another recent find and current obsession. Aside from the color combo, I think what attracted me to this particular piece in the first place is fit and length. Personally, I love mid-hip length when it comes to jackets, because it tends to pair well with most bottom options from jeans to mini skirts and everything in between. Wore this jacket with a black leather skirt and ankle boots the other day, and it worked just as well. Love that! What about you guys, what are your favorite pairing at the moment?

Trend Watch :: Combat Boots

Of all the shoe trends coming in this season, I’d say that combat boots is the one I am excited about the most! A big fan of boots in general, what I particularly love about this boot style is the fact that regardless of what you choose to pair them with, they add an immediate dose of that cool-girl edge to an outfit.

Another reason why I am so obsessed with combat boots is versatility. You can wear them with practically anything from mini skirts, to flowy dresses and obviously classic denim/leather jacket combo. Personally, I prefer to pair them with slightly more feminine looks to downplay the girliness of an outfit and add just a touch of edge.

Though I’ve gotten my hands on a few pairs this season, the pretty in pink version I am sporting in today’s post is one of my favorites. Love the pretty pastel meet edgy cool vibe!  Also, this particular shade of pink acts as a neutral and pairs with pretty much every color imaginable, not to mention the fact that it does a fabulous job of adding a bit of color to Fall/Winter’s darker and deeper color palette. Basically, best best in every possible way!

The One Coat You Will Need This Holiday Season

$

Whenever we discuss Holiday season dressing, I feel that we largely tend to focus on party dressing staples like cocktail dresses and evening gowns, yet completely ignore more casual Holiday season go-to styles. And so, for this post, I’d like to shift focus away from party wear and discuss my personal Holiday season must-have, i.e. wear with anything coat!

A huge fan of coats in general, come Holiday season, wear with anything coat is always at the top of my must-have list. Generally speaking, what I look for in a coat is obviously versatility. For me, the perfect Holiday coat is something I can easily throw over a cocktail dress, or a pair of jeans and a chunky knit for a more casual look, and so fit, quality, and style tend to play a very important role. Normally, I look for a timeless cut and fit with a modern twist like color or print for example.

This season, I opted for this timeless boxy plaid coat from Express. A classic staple, I really like the way this menswear-inspired silhouette has been updated with a slightly looser fit and this season’s must-have print. Love absolutely everything about it, from length ( it’s just long enough to go over those midi-length cocktail dresses ) and fit, to the way it feels so light-weight yet keeps me warm in the chilliest of weather.

For today’s look, I chose to pair it with another Holiday staple – high-shine leggings ( so good with tailored tops and heels for night, yet equally impressive for day because they add a perfect touch of texture to day-time looks ) and a black turtleneck top. Yet, I’ve worn it with party dresses, pleated midi skirts, and leather minis and so far, it hasn’t failed to deliver once. Love that!

P.S. See and shop more of my favorite Holiday-season staples below!

Special thank you to Express for partnering with me on this post.

3 Holiday Manicure Ideas

If you read my blog on regular basis, you probably already know that nails are my thing. I don’t know what it is really, but I’ve always loved playing with different nail colors, designs and textures. In fact, as much as I tend to stick to the same color palette when it comes to make up, as far as nails are concerned, I always challenge myself to try something new. And so, seeing how Holiday season is fast approaching, I’ve partnered with CVS Pharmacy and came up with a few Holiday manicure ideas that weren’t necessarily something you would expect right away.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I love red nails for the holidays, and the classic burgundy-gold French combo will always be my go-to manicure come party season. Yet, every once in a while, I think it’s fun to try something new, and this year, rose-gold chrome is the new I am completely and totally obsessed with.

First, you simply cannot go wrong with rose gold nails. Soft and feminine, they add that pretty sparkle and create a perfect finishing touch for most of your pastel-colored holiday looks. Another reason I love rose-gold chrome is because it complements a lot of different nail colors really well, which makes it the perfect option if you choose to opt for a nail design like a French tip or a half moon. So, in the spirit of thinking outside the box, I decided to create 3 different holiday manicure ideas using rose-gold chrome nail color alongside some of my other holiday drugstore brand nail faves.

I will fully admit that I do get my nails done every once in a while, yet most of the time, I prefer to do my manicure myself. For me, the key to having a great manicure are polished hands. Though I’ve tried many different things from paraffin masks to vitamins and everything in between, more than anything else, keeping my hands well moisturized tends to be of most importance. At the moment, I am very partial to Beauty 360 Hydrating Hand & Nail cream, which I apply religiously morning and night. This ritual not only makes my manicure look polished, it also tends to make my manicure last longer! Love that!

The first nail-color combo I am loving at the moment is rose-gold-chrome paired with soft gray polish. This very soft and feminine look makes quite a statement paired with soft pastel colors but also with statement sparkly numbers like the one I am sporting in today’s post. To create this look, I used Sally Hansen Salon Chrome in Rose-Gold and Beauty 360 No Light Gel Polish in Pebble. The reason why I love these two particular products is because aside from being really easy to use and having amazing staying power they are also readily available at my local CVS Pharmacy.

I also love the way rose-gold chrome pairs with soft pink and white, which is why for my second look, I chose to combine all 3 of these colors to create a rather bold, yet decidedly feminine manicure perfect for a slightly dressier occasions. To create this look, I once again used Sally Hansen Salon Chrome in Rose-Gold and Beauty 360 No Light Gel Polish in Cotton & Cotton Candy. What I love about this particular look is the pairing of glossy pink and white, which are not necessarily typical holiday nail colors with shimmering chrome, for that touch of sparkle that makes this pairing perfectly holiday appropriate.

Last, but certainly not least, is my all-time favorite combination of various shades of pink ranging from soft grayish rose, rose-gold and deep mauve. To create this look, I once again used Sally Hansen Salon Chrome in Rose-Gold and Beauty 360 No Light Gel Polish in Eggplant & Plum. A true statement pairing, this combo is likely the one I’ll be sporting the most this holiday season. Pink is one of the biggest color trends this year and I love the way this particular combination adds a touch of polish, sophistication and glamour to softer shades of pink.

What about you guys, what are some of your favorite holiday manicure go-to colors?

An evening with Fendi

Good evening, everyone. I wanted to take this opportunity to share a few images of an absolutely magical outfit I got to wear to an equally magical event with Fendi I had the pleasure of attending recently. As an arts student and an avid lover of classic art in general, it was such an honor to attend a private cocktail reception and a candle-lit dinner at the Getty Center to celebrate the arrival of the three Caravaggio paintings on loan from the Galleria Borghese. All three paintings on view are absolutely astounding, and what makes this particular exhibition an absolute must-see, is the fact that it is for the very first time, all three paintings, each of which represent a crucial period in Caravaggio’s work, can be viewed together in the United States. So, if you happen to love classic art as I do, I would definitely make sure to visit the exhibition, you won’t regret it!

Current Fave :: Chanel Gabrielle Boots

Of all the boots currently residing in my closet, the Chanel Gabrielle boots I am wearing in today’s post are definitely a favorite. Aside from the way the look, what makes them my current go-to pair is really a combination of three different factors: comfort, versatility and their ability to add that perfect touch of drama to transform the simplest of looks into a statement-making outfit.

Not entirely sure I grasped the full potential of these boots when I first got them during Paris Fashion Week. I mean, I certainly loved the way they looked with mini or midi skirts, or paired with knee-length coats, but I’ve since discovered that they work equally well paired skinny denim and pretty much any topper imaginable. Seriously, I’ve yet to discover an oversized coat, chunky knit or sleek leather jacket they don’t work with.

Another reason I am completely and totally obsessed with them at the moment is because of the way they tend to elevate basics and casual outfits. Love, love, love how they become that perfect finishing touch for a blue-jean, simple white tee pairing, or a denim mini, leather jacket combo. Basically, they look equally relevant with pretty much any outfit imaginable, and make even the simplest of looks feel special, which is probably why I’ve been wearing them non stop as of late. Hope you don’t mind seeing them again and again!
