MY HAIR CARE ROUTINE

Hey Everyone,

So I wanted to do a quick little post about my hair routine, since I've been getting so many emails about what I do for my hair and which products I use. 

1. To keep my hair healthy I normally wash it no more than 2-3 times a week. I find that excessive washing makes my hair really dry, regardless of the products I use. When I do wash my hair, I always make sure to apply shampoo only to the scalp and never to the ends of my hair, which tend to be somewhat dry. I usually just work the shampoo gently down the ends of the hair, making sure not to scrub, which can lead to breakage or knots.

2. Unless I am short for time, I skip blowdrying completely, and just let my hair air dry. Pretty sure, you’ll be surprised how much healthier your hair looks and feels if you skip the blowdryer a few times a week. I know I certainly was, and overtime definitely saw a lot less split ends. I also like to apply Alterna caviar repair re-texturizing protein cream to prevent split ends and keep my hair from getting too dry. Now, I could never say goodbye to my blowdryer forever, but I do like to give it a day off every once in a while.

3. Every morning, I brush my hair for at least 10-15 minutes, using Sephora Paddle brush with Ionic Technology for maximum shine. Combing hair regularly helps to improve circulation and keeps scalp healthy. The importance of brushing hair daily, is something I learned from my mother, who always had the most beautiful, long hair. So, I make sure to follow her advice:)
4. Straight styles are the easiest for me, since my hair is pretty straight to begin with. Usually, I flat iron only the ends to give it a more polished look. I finish with just a bit of BB Spray De Mode hairspray with flexible hold to help the style last all day.

I don't really think my weakness for slouchy-fitting, broken-in jeans is a big secret at this point. A huge fan of denim in general, I practically live in boyfriend jeans, which is why I am so excited to parter up with Levi's and Lookbook.nu to style a pair of 501 original fitting jeans. To me, the 501s are an epitome of effortlessly cool-looking boyfriend-fitting jeans. 


My look was inspired by opposite elements - casual and dressy, tailored and slouchy and of course light and bright. So, to balance out the casual fit of the jeans, I added a tailored jacket, a pair of high heels and a patent lather clutch.

Hey Everyone,

I am so excited to team up with Estee Lauder to introduce you to SS13 Bronze Goddess collection. I was lucky enough to try products from this year's collection, and I have to confess, I am now completely addicted to the whole line and especially the bronzing powder. I mentioned before, I prefer matte bronzers because they provide a more natural-looking tan, but the reason I fell in love with Estee Lauder bronzing powder is definitely the color. Last time my tan looked this good was last Summer when I spent 2 straight weeks on the beach, doing pretty much nothing except working on my tan:) Naturally, I love a product that can make me look like that mid March:)

To achieve this look I applied Bronze Goddess bronzing powder all over the face, concentrating on the bridge of the nose and around hair line. I used Pure Color sheer roller lipgloss in "Squeeze" on my lips for a bit of sparkle, and completed the look with my favorite cat-eyes, using Pure Color liquid eyeliner in "Black Sands". Fresh, simple and not over-the-top - just the way I like it:)

FLORAL FIX + DIY 501 ORIGINAL FIT JEANS

A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to parter with Levi's and Lookbook.nu to style a pair of 501 original fitting jeans (see post HERE). Well, today's post is all about DIY + self-expression, basically how I would customize a pair of 501s to make them my own. 

If you read my blog on regular basis, the answer is quite simple: I love my denim a bit distressed! My perfect pair is well-worn, whiskered and perfectly shredded. To achieve this look, I used a cutting board and an X-Acto knife. Sliding a cutting board inside the leg of the jeans is a great way to prevent slashing the other side and/or prevent any damage to the surface you are working on! Once I decided on the rip placements, I used an X-acto knife to create a few slashed clusters. I started slashing horizontally and made sure to create rips in varying length and depth for better texture. Finally, I threw the jeans into a dryer for about 20 minutes to reveal the treads and get that perfectly shredded look.

Hey Everyone,


I am sure you guys remember a post I did a little while ago with my good friend Belen from B* a la Moda. Even though Belen and I never met in person, our love of fashion brought us together and we quickly became great friends. Recently, Belen and I came up with an idea of styling the same piece of clothing to showcase our individual style. I don't know about you, but I love to see fashion from multiple points of view! 

Last time, we had a blast styling a beautiful Zara top (See my post HERE and see Belen's post HERE), and since we had such a great time, we decided to do it again! 

THE CHALLENGE: This time, our challenge was to style a super cute ASOS skirt, which we both already had in our closets and previously wore on our blogs. However, for this post we had to style it in a new, Spring appropriate way. Naturally, we got 2 very different interpretations of the same skirt.

MY LOOK: Since I love bright colors and sharp contrasts, I decided to pair my skirt with white, black and turquoise. I am also sure you noticed, my choice of nail polish color is never incidental. For me, nail color is basically an accessory, so I always make sure it goes with whatever I'm wearing. In this instance, I think a bright peach polish gives an outfit a more Spring-appropriate feeling. 

BELEN'S LOOK: Now onto Belen's look, I absolutely love the way Belen's styled her skirt! The combination of white, beige and coral looks fresh and Spring-ready. I also love the way Belen paired her skirt with a trench coat - a great transitional piece, for some Spring-appropriate layering. Finally, as I mentioned before nail polish color is really a great accessory, and Belen's bright coral nail polish adds a fun touch to her Spring look.
