Though we’ve been to Napa Valley many times before, somehow every visit is unique and Napa never fails to impress us in a new and amazing way. Fairly close to LA, yet I can’t help feeling like we are in a different part of the world every time we visit. Peaceful, quiet and just breathtakingly beautiful, to me, Napa is one of the very few places where I can truly unwind, and forget the hustle and bustle of LA, even if it is just for a few days.
What made this particular trip especially lovely was the weather ( warm and sunny, it felt so good to get away from gloomy LA for a few days ) but also our latest discovery – the beautiful Las Alcobas resort, Georgian-style farmhouse, so gorgeous and picturesque, it was love at first sight the moment we saw it! Situated right in St. Helena which is a beautiful town, close to a couple of great wineries, like Beringer Vineyards for example ( highly recommend the wine tasting tour ). We’ve fallen in love with the area and took full advantage exploring all the wonderful things it has to offer like art galleries, cute coffee spots and antique shops.
Though we’ve definitely absolutely loved the resort in general and our room in particular, it was our patio overlooking the vineyards that really made Las Alcobas our new favorite place to stay in Napa. The most incredible view to wake up to every morning, personally I loved sipping my morning cup of coffee in absolute peace and quiet. Another daily ritual – staying up late watching the night sky by the fire pit with a glass of wine. We never really get to see stars like that in LA and there is just something so incredibly majestic about a star-lit sky.
As I have previously mentioned, we really got lucky with the weather and it was warm, sunny and just lovely in general for the entire duration of our stay which of course meant that we spent a good chunk of our time laying out by the pool, taking in the view. Finding time to relax and enjoy the moment is something we have been working on; and the super relaxing ambiance of Las Alcobas definitely helped with that!
If you happen to stay at the hotel or simply find yourself in the area, both Emil and I highly recommend dinner or breakfast at Acacia House. As I am sure you already know, we are huge foodies, and trying and discovering new and amazing dining experiences is one of our favorite things to do. We’ve had both, breakfast and dinner and loved everything to the very last bite. As far as breakfast is concerned, we definitely recommend trying the pastry selection and greek yogurt with granola and for dinner, you can’t go wrong with burger and fries and the pesto spaghetti!
While visiting Las Alcobas, I obviously had to try out their spa. I’m a big believer in the restorative and rejuvenating power of a good body scrub so that is always my go-to when choosing a spa treatment ( the coffee body scrub was out of this world by the way ). The biggest beauty junkie, what I also loved about the spa is the fact that they use all natural beauty products, in fact, I had to pick up a few goodies to bring home with me to recreate the experience (or at least attempt to because that coffee body scrub really was that good ).
