How & Why I Color My Hair at Home with Garnier Olia

3 years ago I made the big switch… I stopped going to a hair salon and started coloring my hair at home! You will probably wonder why, and the truth is, there were a few different reasons. First reason: I have quite a few grays at this point, and since my hair grows pretty fast, I have to touch up my roots every 2 weeks or so. Going to a hair salon this often was very costly not to mention really time consuming and often inconvenient.

Second reason was the health of my hair. If you have been following my blog for a while, you know I’ve changed my hair color often and went from black to blonde in a rather short period of time, obviously this took toll… My hair felt dead and crunchy, it was lifeless and dull, and I was utterly unhappy with how it looked.

I started to explore my options. I wanted to go back to my natural shade and work on getting my hair back to a healthy state, and that’s when I came across Olia by Garnier. What attracted me to Olia is the fact that it’s an AMMONIA-FREE formula (it’s formulated with 60% natural flower oils) and yet, it’s a permanent hair color with 100% GRAY COVERAGE!

Was I skeptical the first time I used it? Yes, I was! But it did cover my gray hair, my hair looked shinier and healthier right away and most importantly, I could now color my hair at home, at my convenience, whenever I wanted!

Another quick note, if you are sensitive to smells like me, you’ll love that Olia does not have that harsh ammonia smell, it has a very pleasant floral aroma, so now, I actually enjoy coloring my hair.

I’ve been using it for 3 years now, I am never switching to a different hair color! I have tried natural hair color before (henna is so messy and time consuming) but honestly nothing compares. It’s super quick to use (same processing time as any other hair color – 30 minutes), it’s readily available and inexpensive, it colors my grays, but most importantly it does not damage my hair and keeps it looking healthy. I posted a hair coloring tutorial on MY REELS, so CLICK HERE if you want to check it out!
