16 years together and 14 years married, on July 11 Edward and I celebrated our Wedding Anniversary and although we try and make this day special every year, I think this was my favorite year yet. You see, we always wanted to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary in Italy, but something always got in the way, and so this year, we decided to bring Italy to us.
We found the most amazing Bed & Breakfast in Malibu that gave us all the Italy vibes we ever wanted, and spent a few relaxing days taking in the gorgeous surrounding, having romantic outdoor dinners, indulging in our favorite food and wines, and simply remembering why it is that we enjoy each other’s company so much.
It’s funny, but one of the first questions people ask when they find out my husband and I have been married for as long as we have is how do we make it work, and although I certainly don’t have all the answers, I think spending time together is key. Though it may seem tempting to think that you know someone completely just because you’ve been together for a long time, the truth is that we do not ever remain the same, we change and evolve constantly and quality time together allows you to discover and re-discover each other. It works for us, I certainly find out new things about my husband, and he always tells me that after 16 years together I still find ways to surprise him. So if I had one piece of advice to give, it would be to find the time to “date” even if you’re in a long-term relationship…
For our Anniversary, I wore a rather simple white dress by AZ Factory by Alber Elbaz because I wanted to keep all of the attention on the jewelry. As you may already know Tacori jewelry holds a very special place in my heart, and I am forever amazed by their gorgeous and timeless creations. I absolutely love my Founder’s RoyalT Ring because it is such a stunning statement piece. I have always been partial to classic engagement rings, but what makes this particular one so special is the embellished band. I adore the way it catches the light and sparkles from every angle. The Classic Crescent RoyalT Wedding Band is brand new and I absolutely love the way it compliments my engagement ring. Although it is definitely a statement piece of jewelry, I find it to be extremely versatile, so I can easily pair it with cocktail dresses or jeans and simple t-shirts on more casual occasions. In fact, I find it adds just the right amount of sparkle to casual looks and helps to elevate them to a next level.
I completed the look with a few gorgeous Prasiolite gems from Tacori’s Crescent Embrace & Sonoma Skies collections. Prasiolite is my birth stone, which is perhaps why I’ve always been attracted to this pale green gem, especially given the special meaning behind it. It is said to foster compassion, self-acceptance and self-honor to ignite the love within your heart. The pieces I am wearing today are particularly dear to me because they combine my favorite gemstone with an elegant and timeless design.
I absolutely adore how the delicate design of the Crescent Bezel Prasiolite Cuff complements the statement-making Cushion Gem Prasiolite Ring and plays off the delicate green sparkle of the Cushion Gem Prasiolite Earrings. I don’t often pair colored gemstones together, but these three pieces are so delicate yet powerful, they do not distract from one another but rather help to create a complete story.
Special thank you to Tacori for partnering with me on this post.
