I think the key to getting this style right is the loose fit in the hip and leg areas combined with a form fit in the waist, which is why I love this pair! BTW, to get the relaxed look, I sized up 2 sizes. Although they are not perfectly form-fitting in the waist area, there is definitely a narrowing going on, which helps to create an hour-glass shape.

Right now, I love pairing my high-waisted denim with cropped cardigans. Whimsical, colorful and embellished cardigans are a vibe this year and I think they look best when paired with more casual items like denim, for example.

Speaking of jean trends in 2021… The high waisted straight leg style is definitely the popular fit at the moment. Light washes, fading and distress are also in, however, if ripped jeans are not really your cup of tea, you can definitely go for a cleaner style like the Agolde Crisscross pair I’m linking to below.
