This year is all about the eyes: bright eyeshadows, glitter shades & crystals are all the rage. Ahead, 15 makeup products that will keep your Holiday bases covered!
Eyes definitely have it this year, and if you’re willing to venture outside the box and try the bright eyeshadow trend with a side of glitter and crystals (I know I’m certainly having fun with it), here is what you’ll need to achieve the look. After applying an eyeshadow base (I really like this one), I added shade PSL & Chill from Too Faced Pumpkin Space Warm & Spicy Eyeshadow Palette to the inner corner and half of my lid. Next, I applied the bright purple shade from the Shiseido Essentialist Eyeshadow Palette to the other half of my lid, blinding it upwards at the outer corner. I repeated the same steps on my lower lash line.
I always apply a bit of sparkle to my inner corners because that light adds such a gorgeous dimension. To achieve the look, I used Lidstar Eyeshadow in Slip. Finishing touch: a few rhinestone crystals & metallic glitter on my lower lash line. The glitter is super easy to apply and you don’t have to be particularly precise with it, it actually looks better when it’s slightly messy.
Since I went for such an elaborate eye makeup, I wanted the rest of my face to be fresh and understated. Recently, I started using Skin Perfecting Serum Foundation from Orcé Cosmetics and I’m kind of obsessed with it. Love the natural looking finish, love the buildable coverage (it looks like a full-coverage foundation but feels completely breathable), love the way it masks and hides any flaws or imperfections. I didn’t really want to add any heavy countering, so I went for just a bit of dimension under my cheek bones. It’s funny, the Times Nine Eyeshadow Palette from MAC is probably one of the most versatile products I have. I don’t only use it on my eyes, I actually use it to contour my face quite a bit. The variety of shades gives me a lot of options to play with and you know how much I love versatility.
Act IV is my all time favorite Estée Lauder line, I talked quite a bit about why I love it here. Love the primer, love the filtered powder (it looks so glowy and natural on your cheek bones) and absolutely adore the highlighter!
Finishing touch? Lips of course! I wanted to create a natural-looking lip with just a bit of oomph. So, I went with a very pretty dusty rose lipstick (love the Indian Rose shade from Tom Ford) and topped it off with a bit of Gloss Luxe Moisturizing Lipgloss in Gratuitous.
By the way, Nordstrom is running a BEAUTY SALE on all your favorite beauty brands including Tom Ford Beauty, Estée Lauder, Lancôme & NARS just to name a few!
