4 Step Winter Body Care Routine for Cracked Heels, Dry & Flaky Skin

Today, I’m going to walk you through a super simple morning and night winter body care routine to prevent dry skin, chopped lips and cracked heels.

First and foremost, this is not a sponsored post. Though I am mostly using CeraVe body care products right now, it is not because I am working with this company (nor were the products sent to me by the company) but simply because I love them and they work. I discovered this brand fairly recently. I tried their face cleanser, loved it, and then proceeded to try more of their products. That’s pretty much how I came across the product’s I’ll be talking about in today’s post.

About my skin. Naturally, I have very dry skin on my body, especially my hands, feet, elbows and knees. I always had to use heavy creams, which honestly made a difference during application and maybe lingered for a bit after but by the end of the day, my skin always felt dry. Why do I like the products I’m using right now? I use them morning and night, and my skin feels soft and moisturized all day. No flakiness, no dryness, just nice smooth, velvety skin.

So, here is what I do. Once or twice I week I use Skinfix Resurface + Glycolic Body Scrub. You apply this scrub on dry skin right before you shower, dry rub for about a minute, then turn the water on and massage it onto skin in circular motions for a minute or two to improve circulation and slouch away dead skin.

Next I use Eczema Creamy Oil. Though I don’t actually have Eczema, this product is designed to treat very rough, dry skin and it is honestly the best body product I have ever tried. I can’t even begin to describe to you how it feels on the skin. I seriously never though my skin could feel this soft nor did I think that this softness could actually last. You know what I mean though, right? Some body care products feel really nice when you just apply them but the softness doesn’t last. Not the case with this oil! So, the trick is to apply it to damp skin. Not dripping wet, but your skin has to be damp. So, after I shower, I let my body air dry slightly then apply this cream in circular motions as well starting with my feet.

Alternatively, the Moisturizing cream is amazing as well. I bough them both to try, thinking I’m probably going to love one of them more then the other, but ended up loving them pretty equally, so I alternate between the two. I would say that the Moisturizing cream has a slightly lighter texture, so I use it during the day, and the Creamy Oil is a bit heavier, which is why it’s perfect for night.

Last step, the Healing Ointment. Right before bed, I apply it to my feet, hands, elbows and knees. It’s very rich, so it’s perfect for those extra dry areas! By the way, if your nails are prone to breaking, try rubbing a bit of this ointment into your cuticles before bedtime. My nails grow super long, and that’s honestly the reason, I always keep my hands and cuticles hydrated.

Bonus step? Sorry, couldn’t help myself! I am religious about lip balm and just wanted to share my favorite one with you again. I’ve talked so much about it on this site, I feel like it’s overshadowing every other product I ever talked about… but it’s honestly amazing. And yes, I don’t love the price point either, but it does last. Every tube lasts me for about 4-5 months, and a far as quality and results go, nothing comes close. So, if you have dry lips like I do, I would seriously give Aerin Rose Lip Conditioner a try.
