A good pair of wide-leg pants is not easy to find. Aside from the fact that I’m 5.8 and love to wear heels which means most of the pants are way too short on me, I like my wide leg pants high-waisted, tailored yet slightly slouchy, and fitted in the hip area. Though I didn’t think finding such a unicorn was possible, unless I got something tailored, I stumbled upon the pair I am wearing in today’s post (last seen here) and it was love from the first try!
Since these pants are such a staple, I wanted to show you guys a few different ways I like to wear them. First, you can’t go wrong with wide leg pants and a crop top. Crop tops are not always easy to wear, but high-waisted wide leg pants show them off in the most flattering light and downplay some of the sexiness of the crop top.
Another way? A slightly more casual approach. Pair a simple white tee, a cropped cardigan, and sneakers for a wear-anywhere look. Typically this is how I wear them to run earns, go shopping or for a casual outing with my friends. Quick tip: keep your accents sharp when going for a more casual look. Sleek black sunnies, stylish cross-body bag, are just a few little add ons that help to elevate a casual look.
Finally, elevated knit tanks are a huge trend this season. Think asymmetric necklines, cut outs and out of the box cuts. Well these sleek little tops are perfect for pairing with wide leg pants. Aside from the fact that these two create a very flattering silhouette, you can wear this look pretty much anywhere. Oh, and since temperatures are dropping, simply add a blazer on top. Couldn’t resist adding these cool chain hair barrettes. Details are everything, and these are such a cool take on the chain trend this season.
