My favorite summer staple? The little white dress. I’m not really sure I can think of another item that is more synonymous with summer and sunshine, which is why I am always on a lookout for a updated version of this staple.
This year, the little white dress got a bit of a romantic update thanks to voluminous sleeves and skirt. Another micro trend I am loving at the moment? Cut-outs! Carefully placed cut-outs add another level of interest to an item, and the dress I am wearing in today’s post is a great example of that. Though I absolutely love the fit of this dress in general, it is the back, side and front cut-out that take it to another level.
Chain bags are another big trend this season largely because of the uber trendy Bottega Veneta Pouch clutch. Though definitely an investment piece, Bottega Veneta bags have longevity which is one of the reasons I opted for one. Another reason? They are very easy to style and to wear, in a sense that they work with everything and help elevate a look to another level.
Personal styling tip. Though you can definitely wear your little white dress with heels, opting for a pair of slightly edgier flat sandals instead, is an alternative approach that is rather trendy at the moment. I’m a fan simply because it helps to dress items down and gives an outfit a much more relaxed, easy-going feel.
