I mean why not? Who said swimsuits are for beach only and you can’t wear them in the city! I certainly don’t think so, which is why I wore my favorite Hunza G one piece on and off the beach during a recent trip to Nice. Having said that, not all swimsuits are created equal, and I don’t necessarily think you can wear any swimsuit out, but the right one piece can be styled in a multitude of ways!
What do I mean by the right one piece? Well, I usually look for something in a solid color (brick or brown are my favorite colors right now), interesting texture (like crochet or ruching, for example) and details (like one shoulder or tie shoulder straps)! Below, are the ones I am loving at the moment!
Pair your swimsuit with casually tailored bottoms like cargo shorts for example. Wear it with something too casual and you run the risk of looking a bit frumpy, but if you go for something a bit more sophisticated, your swimsuit will look très chic!
Finishing touches are everything! Of course I always say that, but it is especially true in this case! Go for dressy/casual shoe option (like strappy wedge sandals for example – love this style here & here) and a chic beach tote (how cute is this one and this one). You don’t want to go too casual with your accents since the look you are trying to achieve is more effortlessly elegant than beach chic. Oh, and of course jewelry! Jewelry is an essential part of this look! Bold, beautiful and layered adds a perfect amount of drama and glamour to this look!
